And somehow companies that let the phones shut off are getting off the hook? Neither option is ideal, but again, battery degradation is something you cannot avoid, and Apple chose the lesser of the two evils, though as some have mentioned, they should've said something to users...but is it really a surprise that a company has kept something a secret?

Companies should be more transparent, especially when it comes to user devices, but Apple chose the lesser of two evils. Battery size isn't even a consideration here. The battery will still degrade, though maybe at a slower rate.

Issue is, when the battery in a car is degraded the car doesn't start. Same happened with some iPhones, and the Nexus 6P and other phones. Battery issues and device simply shuts off.

It's a weird choice; keep the phone working; albeit slower; or let it die.
If Apple added a setting to pick between the two; which would the average user choose, before deciding they need to replace the battery?

Apple also did tell people, in iOS 10.2.1 update notes, and on the support articles, and support app all of which are free. There's even a warning in the Battery section of settings. Which was added with the update that introduced this curfuffle.

Could they have added more? Yes, and they are; the issue is the average consumer doesn't know anything, and doesn't read update notes, or information anyway. So even after the update how many will actually look into their Battery Section, or free support?

You can give thread affinity to each software and potentially do what you said however I have always felt more beneficial just let windows scheduler do it automatically on mainstream CPUs though.

If you can afford up to the ryzen 5 1600x you probably can the ryzen 7 1700 the price gap ain't that big and then you'd have perfectly streaming capacity regardless... feels worth it in my particularly opinion, the 65w tdp and included stock cooler for free will make up since with the 1600x you'll have to afford a cooler too.

Mr.Meerkat reacted to Godlygamer23 in Apple apologizes over battery fisasco, will offer $29 battery replacements for 1 year
Personally, I think it's simply Apple's way of making their devices last longer and be more reliable than other devices. I know there are people that don't want their phones slowing down over time(I mean, who does?), but it's a much better alternative compared to your phone shutting off entirely, particularly since we generally need our phones to be, well.....PHONES. If there's an emergency, having our phones shut off in the middle of an important phone call is terrible, and Apple's method is best for dealing with battery degradation.

Mr.Meerkat got a reaction from atrash in Apple does slow down your iPhone.....but its not what you think....
I'm pretty sure the typical support from companies such as LG, Samsung and Sony is 2 years/OS cycles (and slowly increasing to 3 years/cycles). Obviously that's still less than the 4 or 5 years/OS cycles iPhones get supported for but ya know, 1 year/cycle is a little of an underestimation .

Isn't Apple throttling their phones in an effort to both prevent iPhones from randomly shutting down and to preserve the damaged battery so it dies a little slower? If that's the actual case, how is it anti-consumer if they're trying to make the current battery last longer?

It's a bloody keyboard for one, and two, he did an unboxing years ago.
What more can you say about a mechanical keyboard other than it types well and the layout is the same? The market is so overly saturated that it doesn't matter what keyboard he reviews, the opposition is most likely going to be pretty much identical anyway, plus or minus a few features.

vega came out with no crossfire support then got it a few months late, then AMD broke it again. Deus ex has a profile but it only works in dx11.
Apart of me wishes I got 2 1080tis instead, but the other half of me doesn't want to buy a nvidia card because I don't like their business decisions. People say vote with your wallets, but it's hard to do that when you lack options

    rolling back, no
I would normally rollback but it's not that big of a deal. I only want crossfire for Deus ex because a single GPU only runs the game at 50fps in the most demanding area maxed out
I'll live and continue to be patient......sometimes I regret getting my Vegas

Another all blue mobo for my collection, just got a Gigabyte GA-X58-UD7, i wanted one since they first launched, its a bit older right now but i don't care, it still kicks ass!

These are generally ridiculously expensive, even for X58 boards, but i managed to get it a decent price with an i7-930 for good measure.
    X5650, here i come!

    UPDATE
    GPU is vertical

This is so awesome, spent the entire day building and now im almost there, im only 1L of fluid, a riser cable and some cable management away from done!  Started out with cleaning the GPU block, that took about 2h because the backplates thermal pads were so sticky, but once i had that off it went easy. Also had to chop up the bracket some more to fit the soundcard and cleaned up the cut from the cut to fit the HDD bracket from yesterday. Mounting it in was harder than i expected but ended up not being too hard, what took a little while to figure out was how id get the GPU in with the bracket installed, but it ended up not being too hard in the end. Also made a spacer from an old eraser and some black electrical tape. Its there because the GPU bracket isnt solid enough in its construction and ends up flexing quite a bit with the massive GPU installed  the 1.5mm aluminium dosent really hold too well to a ~2kg GPU as expected  Spent a lot of time figuring out how to do all the new tubing runs now that i flipped the 360 rad, ended up being simpler than i first thought, no crazy behind the case wall runs in the end and while it looks pretty messy i like it, it really fills in the case and paired with the GPU being vertical its great IMO. The hardest run was from the 360 rad to the GPU, it had to come out at a strange angle but after some wrestling with the 240 rad and a 45 degree fitting it all worked in the end and ended up being decent. Cleaned up some of the cables as well, not that you will ever see that because the GPU covers them but it made it a lot easier to work on the runs that go to the pump  Assembled and disassembled basically everything three times today during building
Anyway here are some build pics:
Didnt take a lot of pictures during the build really, was too distracted building lol. Im pretty much done for now because i need that damn riser before i can really finish it up, so here is what it looks like right now
Hope you enjoyed this update as much as i did  This is going to look sooooooo good once im done!

Unnecessary, I have been defending the best value chip in Coffee Lake is the i7 8700 instead of the 8600k and 8700k for quite a while already for plenty of reasons:

*Extremely cheaper specially with inflated prices of the i7 8700k, you can cheap up on motherboard since any will do for the locked chip no need to worry with power phases or VRMs and so on, the z370 chipset still makes sense for the memory overclocking nonetheless... also the considerable cheap 212X makes up for efficient cooling with practically no noise... a cool 65ishCº without delidding ^^

*Outperforms the i5 8600k at 5ghz regardless thanks to Hyper-Threading weighting down more which is excellent, the optimization for at least quadcore usage on software nowadays is lovely, and as mention it will cost you cheaper even though the i7 costs more you are hassle free, cheaper other components no delid, I have taken this as true since Skylake when on similar situation I went i7 6700 + h110m over i5 6600k + z170 and the extra threads paid off in time.

*For the little content creation I do the chip is more than capable and mainly gaming on either 2560x1080p100hz or 4k60hz  which more GPU bond either ways as we know having the i7 8700 at 4.3ghz all core turbo or at 5ghz makes little to no difference at all:
Heheh trust me I put lots into consideration and thought on this pairing, it was very much cheaper and I have basically the same performance within margins of error per say ^^

    UPDATE
    GPU is going vertical yo!

Finally getting to work on this project again! Drained the loop took of all the fans, put the two white ones from the 360 on the 240 and my three new fans on the 360  Then the rest of the day was spent thinking about how to mount everything again  Ended up doing quite a bit of grinding and cutting with my dremmel on the vertical GPU bracket to make the HDD bracket fit together with it seeing as they will be sitting in the same expansion slots. Here are a few pictures of the progress so far, not much done but one hell of a mess made like usual

Right now im on the Toaster writing this, its a joy really because its whisper quiet under no load, love the Toaster so much  Sadly it doesn't have any audio out and i cant just steal a dac from downstairs like last time i had to use it so im stuck with my monitors crappy audio because the pass through doesn't want to work

Got a new loop order planned out too, here is a picture of the plan:
Thats about it for todays update, more work tomorrow!

I thought we only had performance numbers for mobile parts and not desktop parts. The R5 2500U almost matches the MX150 in gaming (so the R7 2700U probably can match it and maybe even outperform it) so I would have thought desktop parts would maybe offer more performance, especially how they won't be limited to 15W standard TDP and 25W up-configured TDP.

Not if you don't include a dGPU. In fact, it can be a lot smaller without a dGPU  (and completely ignores the point of this build).
