    Speaking of new photography gear...

    Panasonic GX80 with 14-140 f3.5-5.6 and 20 f1.7 🙂

Is noticeably smaller than my A7R2 with 24-105...
Funnily enough tho, basically all the savings are coming from the lens. The A7R2 body isn't actually that much bigger than the GX80 when put in a case (similar width, slightly taller, the grip size doesn't matter in cube/rectangular case) but oh well, maybe one day someone will release a small, lightweight, extra zoomy APS-C lens for E-mount 😛

Used Sony A350 with the 18-70 and 55-200 kit lenses... not that I needed one, but the whole lot came at 60% of the price of the multi-type battery charger that's convenient since I've got nearly all types it supports in use (used to have one but it got stolen at some point), so I pretty much bought it for that and the rest provides for a nice nostalgia moment since the A300 (same body and features, just a lower resolution sensor) was my first DSLR. And the live view system was cool and done right.

Look maw, a new GPU that I deffo didn't manage to get for more or less MSRP! (£70 above AMD'S "MSRP" but as it's an AIB, it's probably safe to say it's basically MSRP) 😄

Me: Sells my Sony FE 35 1.8 lens cause I don't use it since getting my 16-35 2.8
    Also...
"Tell me you have impulse buying issues without telling me"

    Panny 20 1.7 for £65 ❤️, whilst I don't even own a MFT body, hold that thought...

MPB offered me a price similar to eBay for my 35 1.8 without any seller fees plus I was able to whip out my student discount (and another discount code I have...), and both the body and ultrazoom lens was wayyyyyyyy cheaper than eBay and that's without the discounts, mind you so with the discounts... 😅

Haha, my nice bag is actually a licenced Lanvin (Lanvin en Bleu, Japanese market specific) and it was about £170 back then in the exchange rates. It's mostly ballistic nylon with a mix of full grain and top grain leathers (former used for the big pieces, latter used for small pieces like zipper pulls or strap ends). It uses metal hardware (minus the plastic clips but they are the densest and nicest clips I've ever used), the straps are insanely soft/smooth with no fraying (this is after 6 years) where it doesn't hold the shape from the adjusters either. All the important bits are double stitched with the shoulder straps being reinforced at the attachment points on both the top and bottom (i.e. 25kg for 2 months later, there isn't even a loose thread).

I'll pass on the pelican and just use my padded insert. Put it at the top of the bag and makes it easy to pull out my camera without having to open anything.

Funnily enough I was about to buy a camera bag but now I'm not going to bother as to be honest, a nice camera bag insert works more than perfectly, which combined with the PD capture clip means for me, there's very little reason to own a camera bag at all.

    Anyway, my bags consists of:
    - Reallyyyyyyyyyyy high quality and nice backpack (which was actually affordable) from Japan that is 6-year old and I've dailied an accumulative 4.5 years and has gone around the world at least thrice but might as well be mint condition, mostly used for travelling now.
    - Mediocre (quality wise) high street branded backpack that I bought second hand for £10 (retails for £120, the quality is not worth retail...), currently my daily
    - The new cabinzero addition, guess it'll become my new travel backpack
    - Sub-£20 backpack used for hauling my climbing gear
    - Sub-£20 shoulder bag mostly used for hauling my flying stuff
    - My rather nice samsonite 3-way bag (albeit it's a little too padded thus heavy/can't carry as much) that is used when I need something more formal looking.

To be fair, everything has a use and I basically used my other 5 bags at least once every 2 weeks so

    Cabin zero classic pro 32L....

I now definitely do not own 6 bags, 4 backpacks, one shoulder bag and one 3-way bag...in my defence, when it's discounted to £30, can you really say no?
What do you mean I have a problem? I own a perfectly fine number of bags...ish...not really

Well.. I got my first DSLR camera today, a Canon Rebel T7, a 18-55mm, 32GB SD card, camera strap, camera bag, and 75-300mm lens for a reasonable price.

My 16-35 2.8 has arrived! Body is almost mark free and is optically, it's perfect! No decentering, autofocus seems to work perfectly.

Also bought a K&F 82mm ND filter plus a Phot-R 82mm polariser. The Phot-R was £8 so don't know about you but definately worth a try. Also ordered a 77 to 82mm step up ring, which will let me compare the £8 Phot-R to a nice 77mm Hoya polariser so guess we'll see how good it is! 🙂

    New wired router (TP-Link ER605) didn't have time to take pictures, so here's a screenshot ;

It's to complement my 2 EAP225, next purchase is going to be a EAP110 to keep my outdoor security wireless stuff connected properly (having wireless issues with a few things since the APs are indoors).

Unfortunately GDRRiley already convinced me so GM it is (definitely didn't have a bias towards the GM in the beginning either) 🙃. Managed to successfully low-ball, I mean negotiate down one and at the price I purchased it for, it was pretty near touching distance from retail 17-28 pricing (note: price listed in OP is grey market, add £200 for retail) so I'm pretty happy to throw pricing out of the equation in this case, especially if the 35mm side is satisfactory where it just outright replaces my 35mm f1.8 (I stop it down 85% of the time anyway).

I guess the biggest driving factor for me, from wanting to sway away from the 17-28 is how for me specifically, the focal range is just too limited where I'll personally struggle to use it in a single lens setup. This means it's now competing against the cheap f2.8 primes that cost a third to half as much, such as either the Sammy 18 or Tammy 20, which are also smaller and even lighter.

The 16-35 on the other hand actually does cover my most used FL range of 30 to 40mm where for me, although lens vs lens, its heavier+bulkier, this is basically a moot point as I can actually go single lens with the GM.

I guess "really really need that 35mm on the wide end" applies here 🙃
And yes, I've definitely haven't put some additional thoughts into this.
