  1. Solved: Managed to get my system stable my just enabling xmp and downclocking my cpu to 5.3 e cores to 4.0 and cache to 4.0 as well fps loss is very minimal and hopefully this will hold me off until the 14900k
  2. Hopefully putting in a different cpu will confirm this is the case if thats true i could try and rma the motherboard however i wouldnt be surprised if i get denied due to lack of stock since last time asus stocked this board was march
  3. My best guess right now is that i just really damaged the silicon on my cpu and its just spitting out signs of life but not enough to still work at stock speeds
  4. Update: I got it to post into bios #2 in which i ensured all settings were default but then it took me back to this shutoff loop, then i tried safe mode again which took me into windows for about 2 minutes still on stock settings but then it shutoff again now im just super confused
  5. Glad the other half of my pc isnt dead haha I actually had that chance once or twice after it first shut off but being a knucklehead i just changed the “bclk aware voltage” from auto to on to try and stop that from messing up my cpu but since then and after resetting my bios the only time its posted is one time to display “updating system leds” then restarted and said “updating bios dont turn off” after that its been stuck in this shutoff loop and switching between the 2 bioses on my motherboard and resetting both doesent help
  6. Thanks for pointing that out i’ll make sure to take my 4080 and ram kit over to my friends pc and make sure both of those work
  7. I just found out the hard way but realistically it couldn't be anything other than the cpu or motherboard right?
  8. Thanks for the info i’ll try my friends cpu to make sure before buying any new hardware damn though i was really hoping it would be the motherboard since that i could replaced under rma my cpu is delidded hence i’ll have to buy one out of pocket
  9. Yesterday i decided to mess around with my memory latency by overclocking my bclk from 100 to 132 (adjusted the rest of my multipliers to be around the same) this was successful my memory latency went from around 68 all the way down to 46 which really helped my 1% lows in games i play. Today while i was playing bf2042 my pc shut off cold no blue screen no error just power off it proceeded to do this several times while starting up but a couple minutes later it wont make it to the bios and shuts off when the post led lights up. I tried resetting the bios unplugging everything and trying 1 stick of ram same issue. Ive come the the realization that bclk overclocking also raises certain voltages so the odds that i unknowingly fried something are fairly high given this situation. Does anyone have any ides on how i could narrow down if i have a bad cpu or motherboard? Thank you!! (Im running a hardline loop so any troubleshooting i end up trying i need to tear apart the loop first) specs 13900ks asus z790 apex gskill 48gb 8000 kit founders 4080 3 m.2 drives 2 on dim.2 card one on motherboard corsair ax1500i
  10. Sorry for the clarification the cablemod cables im buying also go directly from my gpu to my power supply.
  11. Hi I know this is a dumb question but it's one I couldn't find the answer to online. I currently run a 4080 using the out of the box 3x8 pin power adapter however I am about to purchase a custom cable kit from cablemod which makes a 12pin high power to 3 8 pin plugs that go directly into my AX1500i power supply. However I'm planning a monitor upgrade in the future that would warrant me to sell my card and upgrade to a 4090 instead, if I instead get the 12pin to 4 8 pin cable that is meant for a 4090 would there be any issues with it powering my current 4080? Thank you I appreciate any feedback
  12. Update: I uninstalled evga precision x1 and the issue stopped I think if was just one of the gpus cores or vram modules bricking due to an automatic overclock lacking enough extra power
  13. No pain I can easily remove/change memory, I don't have any other memory at hand but I will try running dual channel 32gb instead of quad
  14. I built my computer about 8 months ago and it has worked fine until about 2 days ago when i booted it up it said couldn’t detect memory on the postcode so naturally i disabled my overclock settings and tried to boot on default settings, the pc works however it cannot last 5 minutes running without freezing no blue screen just mouse stops responding and rbg leds go rainbow signaling a loss of input from the os. I have tried reinstalling all my drivers and disconnecting all devices besides my keyboard and mouse and the issue still remains the pc just freezes after several minutes of running. Prior to this happening I didin’t install any new software or tinker with my computer at all it just happened out of nowhere. Despite working fine in safe mode I think it might be a hardware issue as ifs not normal for windows to constantly freezes with no bsod. My specs are: I9 7980xe rampage vi extreme Founders 2080 ti sli corsair ax1500i psu(been using it for about 4 years) 64gb trident z rgb 16x4 memory and 3 samsung 960-970 m.2 drives of varying capacity with a couple of other sata ssds Everything is custom watercooled so theres no chance of overheating being the issue if anyone has any idea of which component could be causing this of what I should do to troubleshoot please let me know
  15. I have all hard tubing in the upper side of the case, but would turning off one pump while the other one runs have a similar effect of blocking the waterflow out of the reservoir causing liquid to back up?
  16. Thats what I thought, but I checked the manual and its correct, plus before this upgrade I had the exact same monoblock in black and my tubing inlet was the same. I cant really tip over my computer as its all acryllic, it would either break my desk or crack something inside (weighs over 100 pounds). Im thinking of trying to just leave my fill hole open to allow air to exit.
  17. After much headache I finally got my new pc done however for some reason my monoblocks vrm channel isnt filling up as it should. I noticed that if I raise my resirvoir water level the monoblock fills up slightly more however not enough to cycle water over the vrm. Can anyone tell me if this is due to air trapped, or my loop just doesnt have enough water pressure? In my setup I am running 3 360 radiators and 1 480 radiator with 2 d5 pumps set to speed 3.5/5 (cant do over 4 or the pumps rub against my mounting and brick the moter)
  18. Thinking about upgrading to a 3175X from my 7980XE but decided not to due to the cost of the CPU. However I keep seeing these chips listed and they seem to be identical to the retail version that costs $3000, so are there any real drawbacks to buying a CPU like this? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-Xeon-W-3175X-CPU-ES-Version-26-Cores-52-Threads-1-8GHz-3-2GHz-OC-OK/113838711719?hash=item1a8150e3a7:g:YU8AAOSw-jVdMhGZ
  19. Thanks, I assumed so about the clock speed I'm not too worried about that as my 3333 kit easily overclocks to 3600 so I think a 3200 could do 3333 at least easily. I was mainly worried about the ram modules being the same being as my kit was discontinued but I assume G Skill uses the same circuit board with different binned ram chips.
  20. I haven't updated my profile in a while im running a 7980XE in my system right now. https://pcpartpicker.com/b/MCV6Mp
  21. https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-64gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232566 https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-64gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232569?Item=N82E16820232569 Would I have trouble running these two 64gb kits together in one system? I already have the 3333 set but I think my sku got discontinued as I only see 3200 and 3400+ speed kits available. Thanks
  22. If my GPU has a usb c output, and I used a usb c to displayport adapter would I be able to run 165hz gsync? Thanks
  23. I keep having an issue where for the last six months or so nearly every game I play has a windows audio/media overlay that pops up every time I adjust volume or play/skip a track. This is extremely annoying as every time it pops up the game I'm playing will stutter, freeze or drop frames. I have tried doing the obvious which is disabling the overlay in apps such as Spotify, however the volume bar still comes up and the same issue stands. I have tried reinstalling Windows several times however this only fixes the problem for a couple restarts before it's back to the way it was. If anyone knows how to disable this from popping up when your in fullscreen that would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
  24. So I run a Nvidia surround setup with SLI and for the last 4 months half the games I play take a 40-50% performance hit and stutter like crazy. I use spotify to listen to music while I game and normally on the desktop and while in windowed mode if you adjust the volume or play next track you get a little window on the top left of your screen showing what you are listening to. This never used to happen while in fullscreen however for some reason some games now show it in fullscreen and all those that do suffer huge performance hits and wonky frame timings sort of like a game that has a very bad sli profile. I tried reinstalling windows a few times and each time I do everything works perfectly fine spofitfy included and then after a few restarts its back to the same issue. I have tried closing apps and reinstalling drivers however im starting to think that it's some kind of windows setting that gets triggered during an update. Does anyone know how to get rid of this window while in fullscreen? Any help is appreciated thanks. Edit: another sign of this issue is that affected games cannot tolerate changing display settings such as going from windowed to fullscreen or vice versa the app will just instantly crash with no error message.
  25. I tried that but as you can see Fortnite still pins all four cards at 100% with the performance equal to or less than a single card. https://imgur.com/a/ExYhF
