I am a chronic sufferer of Foot-in-Mouth disease.

I'm an AMD fangirl. I know I'm biased. I don't apologize, but I do try to keep it in check.

Karen Lynn's Achievements

  1. Alright, so it exists to annoy me. Gotcha.
  2. My current build is a Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 R5, Corsair 850W Modular, AMD FX-4350, 16gb G.Skill sniper series RAM, and Samsung EVO 850 SSD as the primary boot drive(Seagate secondary for data storage). Whenever I hit the power button, the lights and fans flick, go off, then about five seconds later, the system actually posts and boots. I'm curious if there's an issue I can't discern going on; or if this is normal. If not normal, is there a way to discern the cause? Could it just be a BIOS setting? This issue was present in this build back when I was using a 650w, and it is still present now with the current psu. It doesn't seem to do anything else besides annoy me.
  3. Good to hear. Is it sub-optimal?
  4. I've an MSI R9 390 8GB. I also have a Corsair 850W PSU, with 70a on the +12v rail. It claims it's rated for SLI/Crossfire, but only has two PCI-e cable ports, and runs two 6+2 pins on each cable. Is it safe, and/or reasonable, to run my R9 390 off a single cable, using the 6pin and 6+2pin from the same cable?
  5. This'll be using the tv, and we have mouse, keyboard and controllers. We also have a spare license already. The budget has a hard limit of $400USD, and I would rather keep it closer to 300.
  6. Getting a dedicated CPU and graphics card breaks the budget for this build.
  7. Depends on the user. My boyfriend will be getting this build. His primary games: League, hearthstone, old games, runescape... It could run fine without a discrete card. Probably will have him save up for a better graphics card. Maybe a 270x+
  8. So, a build I'm doing(c'mon, IRS... I'm waiting...) is being built around the AMD A10-7850k. The trouble I'm having is finding any actual chart of which graphics cards work with it best. Or is it still limited to R7 240 and 250?
  9. Ok. So, application wise, more difficult. Routing wise, easier. Wonder which looks the best...
  10. Could you expand on this? Brevity may be the soul of wit, but surely it is the bane of instruction. Do you mean applying paracord isn't easy, but the cables are easier to use after?
  11. Don't be sorry. Part of modding is making it your own, right?
  12. I have experience with a dremel. Used to mod figures for mage knight when I was younger. The mods would start once I had a spare case. Time is an expectation. Cost is a downer, but if I do the whole thing to look good... Inconsequential. The most important thing is that I would learn a ton.
  13. @ I finally got the case's idea. :3 The others: Thanks for the tips. Frost plexi? Diffuser layer?
  14. That game, I only played like, ten minutes. The images overlaid themselves in my head this morning. I have no idea where or how to start, though.
