  1. What kind of cheap-ass case do you have that can't stand normal use? Or you are not using the right screwdriver and tightening the screws so hard that you taste blood in your mouth?
  2. The recommended PSU wattage in the GPU-specs is for the whole system, not for the GPU only. And you can count on that those numbers will be with a good margin of error, they don't want to get bad press for their products because the system can't handle the load of the GPU and shut down or become unstable with a too small PSU wattage wise. Heck, I got a GTX 1060 3GB and it recommended wattage for the PSU is 400W but the card only draws 120W under maximum load. And if you check what is recommended for your new GPU I find this from TechPowerUp: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/gigabyte-aorus-rtx-3080-xtreme-waterforce.b8328 TDP 320 W Suggested PSU 700 W And yes, I know that TDP is not the same as actual max power draw, but they are a good reference-point.
  3. Remove the TG and if the temps drops, the problem is with the airflow. You can also try with the TG on but remove the front panel so the fans in the front isn't restricted. But your temps under load are perfectly fine. EDIT: There is always going to be a difference with open or closed case, but if it more than a few degrees then there is airflow restrictions or components that produce more heat than the case is designed for to handle.

  5. Does the temp drop quick on the CPU when you go from load to idle? When under load the radiator is hot and there coming hot air from it? One hose is warmer and one is cooler? Just checking that the AIO seems to work.
  6. If he have coolingproblem on air with that hardware he is doing it wrong. To get a GTX 1650 to overheat he really must have F-ed up that OC and making it go under water won't help, and there is a good reason there are no water-blocks for that GPU. And to build a custom loop for that system it's going to cost more then what the whole system is worth IMHO.
  7. 35-40 C idle temps are really good and with ambient temps around 30-37 C it is stellar temps. And you can't compare with your old system as they don't have the same specs or conditions they operate within. I would say that with your hardware and case those temps under load is perfectly within what you can expect. The GPU dumps all its heat inside the case. And the Tjmax for the CPU is 95 C where the CPU starts to throttle, it shouldn't crash. You need to experiment, what temps do you get with the side panel off? Run the system with the AIO outside the case, what temps do you then get? What temps do you get if you have the intake in the front and exhaust in the top? Do you get the same CPU-temps if you just stress-test the CPU and not the GPU?
  8. How do you mean? Why would there be no dust on the components in the PSU if the fan is facing down instead of facing up? There should be less dust because the bottom PSU-intake usually is filtered.
  9. Who cares that it is a fake "show-card"? And why should it even be the real deal when it is a demo/show-off piece up on stage or in the show-room? They are not the first to have it, and certainly not the last either.
  10. Could be, only time will tell. I had a problem with the primary GPU shut down - no screen and fans at full speed when i had 2 GPU:s mounted to tight when I played games and the bottom card ran F@H. The top GPU overheated and shut down itself to prevent damages to itself.
  11. Strange, haven't got any WU:s for Moonshot in the latest 24h even that my "preferred cause" is Covid-19 and the progressbar for the event haven't moved much either. Fun little WU:s otherwise, giving me about 1.1-1.3M PPD with about 60 WU:s a day. Right now I am chugging away on some Alzheimers-WU so there appears not to be any C19-WU:s in the pipeline.
  12. Are you sure it is free in the PCIE-bracket side? Sometimes it is so tight that you need to unscrew the bracket next to it to make it free so you can remove the card.
  13. No, not quite so. Is goes back a lot longer that that and it is a reference to the legal battle between Apple Inc and Apple Corps (The Beatles). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sosumi
  14. SATA.SSD is all god and fine, but what you should get is this. NVMe SSD designed for audiophiles https://audiophilestyle.com/forums/topic/62753-nvme-ssd-designed-for-audiophiles/ /s
  15. Yes, that is very good. But now when you are making questions about other things it is better to make a new thread in another part of the forum. You would get more and better help with those topics there, nobody else is going to find those questions here in this thread about a dead PSU.
  16. @Mikey89Read the manual for the motherboard, there should be a section about the BIOS/UEFI and in there you could change settings for the fans. Then there are programs like SpeedFan and many others in Windows that can help you control the fans. And you made a thread about a dead PSU, and it is places in the forum for Power Supplies, this is not the place to discuss other topics. Please create a new thread with relevant questions in a relevant sub-forum. You would get much better help that way. And now you are asking questions about how to set up a 5.1-speaker system correctly.... This is not the right thread or sub-forum for that.
  17. Sounds there are good reasons for updating the BIOS. But it it won't let you update, I would try to contact the support. You have the right revision of the motherboard? EDIT: I see the re is no mentions of specific revisions of the MB. https://rog.asus.com/us/motherboards/rog-crosshair/rog-crosshair-vii-hero-model/helpdesk_bios You have followed the instruction and renamed the BIOS-file using the BIOSRenamer-tool?
  18. There usually is a description for each BIOS-revision on what they have fixed or added. If there is two newer versions you have to read both descriptions to see whats fixed, previous and in the latest. If they don't specify your problem are fixed, chances are that an update will do you no good. Regarding the memory, have you checked that they are compatible with the motherboard, they have a list and the don't verify all kinds of memory, but if it isn't verified there could be an issue.
  19. Highly unlikely that this is software-related. As you mentioned, the PSU shuts of hard by it's own protections and you need tho reset the power before boot.
  20. I would say the KISS-rule apply here. As you are going to remove the GPU, remove the air-cooler and take that in the luggage to. Reapply thermal paste is way more easy then draining and refilling a full loop. Custom-builders that make complete systems stuff the case with foamy material to prevent accidents to happen. But the question is if you trust that in will be properly placed again after an inspection.
  21. Depending on the case, maybe, maybe not. As stated, your case may not be up to the task with poor airflow and design. If you run with the sida of the case off, how are the temps? Is there another slot that you can move the GPU to? You can try to elaborate with the config of the fans. If you disconnect one of the fans on the intake, does it improve? Try with both the fans independently, try with no fans at all running in the front. Can you adjust the RPM of the front fans? Go higher/lower as that will affect hos the air goes around in the case and in worst case makes pockets with trapped hot air. Try with one or the other and both together. You haven't answered about how the CPU-fan is mounted, does it push or pull the air? Does it takes the air from the front or does it fight with the back fan to push the air through the cooler and the hot air gets pushed around in the case by the front fans? It is very important that the air from the CPU goes directly out the back. But i was right as you mentioned that with the stock cooler the CPU hit 95 degrees, now it is about 20 degrees cooler. So the new cooler is much more effective to dissipate the heat from the CPU to the case and make the overall temps hotter and/or is heating up the GPU. You have to experiment with different settings on the case-fans, with the case side on and off and so on. And you shouldn't be to worried about your HDD and SSD, both can handle to sit without any fans.
  22. Yes, I don't know why they doesn't make more advertising about it. If I didn't have scrolled down on the frontpage I would never have seen anything about it. And when i checked the stats where at 0% which I thought was strange, tried tro reload the page several times but now it shows 64% and sometimes 0%.
  23. Have there been a post that Folding Moonshot sprint 11 is active since december 27? I had no idea so i am going to restart my system tonight to get up and running again, my GPU gets in disabled mode after i put my system in hibernation at night when i'm not actively folding. Doesn't help to restart FAH-client, only a full reboot of the system. https://foldingathome.org/?lng=en
  24. It is never safe to OC, but as someone mentioned, install MSI afterburner and see what tweaks you can do. There is not likely many that have experience in OC a 1030 and could tell in what ballpark you can change the clocks, memspeed and volts. But you have a passively cooled card, so there is probably not much to play with. Do small changes, test and monitor temps and try a little higher to reach the ceiling for the card and back of a little. Is the gain worth it, keep the OC, otherwise back down to stock settings.
  25. Regarding the higher GPU-temps is probably that the new and most likely bigger CPU-cooler is more effective at dissipating the heat from the CPU out in the case, so the overall ambient temp in the case now higher than before. It can also be that now that the CPU-Cooler is so close to the back of the GPU it heats up the back-plate and the GPU is now reporting higher temps. And as already mentioned, make sure the fans on the CPU-cooler moves the air from the front of the PC to the back so you don't get warm air blowing in the case recirculating and makes everything hotter.
