  1. I found out that there was another switch between the "problematic switch" and the PC. After removing it the speed jumped to 94Mbit/s. Then I replaced the remaining switch and got the propper speed on one PC but another went back to 9Mbit/s. There are way to many possible points of failure on my network for me to find a propper solution, so for now I'll just run some temporary wires to get things working better.
  2. The router has 4 ports. One is used for the TV-box and one goes to the switch, witch has 8 ports.
  3. Can it be the router if the wifi speeds are good and consistent?
  4. The speed directly form the modem is as it should be. So, new switch then. Should i look for someting witout the "speed controll" or anything else I should be aware of?
  5. I have tested the speed using speedtest.net. I also get the same resuts when downloading games from steam, movies etc. I have tried with different cables but it does not change anything. I get 9.4Mbps up and down. When it works i get 500 down 20 up, witch is what i pay for I get the same problem on my laptop and desktop.
  6. Between my PC and modem i have a TP Link TL-SG1008D hardware version 5.1. Most of the time I only get about 9Mbit/s on my connection to it. I read that it has "Auto-negotiation ports provide smart integration between 10Mbps, 100Mbps and 1000Mbps hardware." thinking that this is the root of my problem. Seeing how it's not a managed switch I dont know how to fix this. Does anyone have any tips or tricks, or will i just have to bye a new switch that doesn't decide how much speed I get?
  7. I got a fresh SSD na installed Win 10 on it. Now everything works.
  8. forgot to say that I'm using HDMI. I dont have cables/ adapters to try anything else.
  9. It seemed tobe working jut fine. I could see someting i guess was the mouse moving on the screen the star- menu when i opend it and the image changed when i rebooted.
  10. I did this before downloading from Nvidia. it didn't work. Now I am unable to do so.
  11. Specs: GPU:GTX 970,CPU: i7 4770k,MOBO: MSI z87-g45 gaming Socket-1150,RAM: HyperX DDR 3 1600Mhz 8GB,PSU: Corsair CX 750M 750W
  12. UPDATE: I managed to get back to the prev. build so I'm back in win 7 and everythig is working. The reason I could not go back earlyer was that there was not enough disc space. I'm thinking of getting a new larger ssd and do a fresh install of win 10 an se if that will do the trick. I also read somewere that removing the gpu driver before ugrading might work. Does this sound like a good idea? Is there anything else that would be wise to try? Today I decided to try to upgrade my personal rig to win 10 for the second time. The first time I gave up after not being able to install nvidia driver, ( a common problem). On this attempt i was no different. After the upgrade was done I had no GPU driver, so I when to Nvidias web-page and got the latest driver installed it an after a few minutes of installation I got this: see image. I managed to reboot using the keyboard but it did nothing. Next I decided to go back to win 7 and try again, but when rebooting 3 times to get the "problems starting windows menu" and selecting go back to previous build it tells me that there was a problem and it cant go back to the previous build. Please someone help me out!

  15. So I have some questions that someone might find stupid but I'm fairly new to the computer enthusiast deal so go easy on me. I am currently running a GTX 770 2gb and using two monitors. When playing in fulscreen on one monitor an waching a stream in fulscreen on the other i get some unwanted framerate drops, Is this my gpu not beeing strong enough? If so and because gta V is right around the corner, I'm thinking of getting an upgrade. I've been looking at the gtx 980, because i would like an NVIDIA card, but will it do the trick for gta? I've have hearing some talk about overheating and such, is this true or is it just when overclocking? If this all checks out, I need a new card and the 980 is for me, will it fit in my system? I have a Msi z87-g45 gaming Socket-1150 motherboard and a Corsair CX 750W PSU. If you need anything in order to help me I'll do my best to help you! Any and all help is appreciated.
