Moving RAM after a PC doesn't post is usually the first thing that is done to check for issues. Go for it.

When My uncle came over he ran a memtest and it passed the first one (he ran it for about 45 min till he had to go but it passed)
Could memory really be the culprit of a weird issue like this one?
Wouldn't the computer simply not post if the memory was so screwed that it was causing an issue like this one?

Don't know if this really fits here, but I worked for a man once that wanted me to make a Xerox copy of a document before I faxed it to the accountant. Curious, I asked him why. His reply, "So we will still have a copy after it's sent." It took me 20 minutes to explain that the fax wasn't going to actually send our physical copy.

I always found it funny when people think your a genious for doing the most basic things like installing ram or a graphics card.
Friend:"I got a new graphics card but my mom wont take me to bestbuy so they can install it."
    Me:"Ill do it for free"

In my school I know a guy who thinks he knows everything about computers and says that thermal paste is glue between the CPU and the cooler !
Also says that if the inches of a monitor are more, the more graphics power you need !

Using age to determine someone's knowledge I think is rather...illogical to a certain degree. I wouldn't expect a 3 year old to know what a CPU is. But if you look 16, so what? I'm sure there's plenty of smart 16 year olds out there.

Oh I could go on and on about this since I was a tech for a while and now am a sysadmin.
    1. We saw an increase in phishing spam sent to our users wanting them to "confirm their accounts" to "keep them open". We send out an official announcement saying that we've noticed an increase in spam asking for users passwords and to not give out passwords in an email if asked. We end up getting about 20 users reply to the announcement with their username and password... fail...
    2. Probably the funniest moment I've ever had in tech support was when someone walked into the place I was working holding an ethernet cable by both ends. He claimed that his machine had gotten infected with a virus and that he reinstalled Windows and it came back so he was convinced that the virus was "stuck in his ethernet cable" and was holding the ends up because he didn't want it to "fall out".

Unmanaged switches are basically plug and play. You basically plug the cables in and it works. Smart switches will have a web interface to change settings such as creating VLANs or setting up link aggregation. Managed switches will usually have a CLI (command line interface) where you access it via a serial console or telnet or SSH. The unmanaged switches are usually the cheapest. Smart switches will be in the middle. But managed switches can be several thousands of dollars and I am almost certain you wont need it. For you I recommend a smart switch and if you want I can recommend some good switches of any of these tree.

Just remember you will be working with 4GBs of ram on the card not 12GBs like the Quadro m6000.
    Nvm.
Yeah I would just get the 980 its gonna be way better than a k2000.

He'll need a motherboard that is compatible (AM3+) socket. The one that he used on the Intel chip won't work. Just buy a (AM3+) socket motherboard from a reputable brand (Msi,Asus etc.) Also make sure it will fit in the case. Also you'll be able to bump up the multiplier a bit no matter what motherboard you get.

Payupsir reacted to manikyath in Is ps/2 less input lag than usb?
to set things straight: usb can go as fast as it wants, depending on how much bandwidth and cpu usage you want to spend on it.

PS2 on the other hand is a direct interrupt to the cpu, so it'll be handled RIGHT when the mouse senses it, rather than when the next polling happens.

the difference between these is probably shorter than the time needed to turn this information into an action in-game.

well USB can't possibly be faster latency wise since it's more complicated and there's more going on compared to PS/2.
Good question.. I'm sure someone smarter than me will have a better explanation and or answer.

In my opinion if ad revenue is your dependce you should look in other ways of gaining money, I am not on a website to see advertisements.
Okay, your website is "free" but it should be a part of your service.
    That's for regular websites.
For Youtube? I wouldn't mind the advertisements if they weren't as they were now. Long video's with annoying content, no thanks. A small pop-up with text and a link? I wouldn't mind that.

Yeah, ABP is becoming one of the biggest Chrome/FF extension installs it seems
I have ABP disabled on LTT (forum), but not on YouTube anymore.
The ads on there have gotten pretty insane (as in long, frequent and just plain weird) and in the videos there are pretty much always sponsors too, so why would I need to watch another ad?? (<- that's just how my brain thinks about it..)

But it seems pretty sad.. Don't want to see YouTube become paid.. The content is usually just not worth it
