  1. Hi , How much does a 980 cost where you live ?
  2. Thanks alot guys ! I will definately look into the upgrade , or wait it out till the 1000 series
  3. I am actually in South Africa, and those 2 numbers come out at about the same amount of Rands
  4. Thanks for all the help guys !! Much appreciated ! I'm gonna stick it out till the 300 / 1000 series and DX12 , going with a 980 or Titan X is just too pricey for the performance upgrade for me .
  5. Hi Guys , It says it all in the title , what do you think is the better option in terms of bang for my buck , Should I stick it out till the next set of cards , or upgrade now ? Thanks Dylan
  6. Hello World, So the age old discussion of should I spend more money on upgrading or swallow my pride and lower my settings until the next set of Nvidia Cards. I currently have 2 MSI 660ti's in SLI , however they are old now , and don't have the next gen lighting or particle effects , they handle most games on a pretty high setting but the SLI has been a nightmare , and has made games stutter and lag to the point where I don't want to play them anymore , I know this has been due to the fact that Ubisoft and a lot of other game companies do not cater for the small amount of SLI users out there , and it makes my job hard having to go find the correct SLI bits to run things with to maybe squeeze out some extra FPS (Looking at you watchdogs) I have now learned that the world is simply not ready for SLI and that single card solutions are the cheaper better option in the long run , So I found a couple great deals , 1st off is the Galax GeForce GTX 970 EXOC Black Edition for $409 2nd is the Galax GeForce GTX 970 HOF for $484 3rd MSI Geforce GTX 970 for $479 My question is , should I upgrade now to one of these awesome cards to get away from this SLI Nightmare? Or should I wait it out until the cards way surpass my 660ti SLI (Next get Nvidia Cards) because currently they are not that much of an improvement (Says the internet) but I know that I cannot run Battlefield on ultra without lag , and I know that I cannot run basically any AAA title on highest without lag , including EVOLVE . If your suggestion is Upgrade which card do you think is best and why ? If your suggestion is to wait it out , how long do you think I will have to wait before the next batch of Nvidia cards come out (The 970's of the future) Thanks a lot for helping out ! Dylan
  7. Thanks alot for the suggestion , I am sure it would work, and oneday Id love to build the most bad ass ghettorig out there
  8. Haha , that doesnt seem that easy  I still want it to look good
  9. Hello all , Thanks for having a look at this issue , Ok, so I have 2 MSI GTX 660ti OC PE cards in SLI , Both cards have been treated exceptionally well , dusted regularly and only very minimally overclocked. The problem I am having is that on one of my cards , both fans will start at boot up , completely normally for about 3 seconds , no grinding/whining sounds , nothing , but then all of a sudden the one fan will power down , and will twitch every now and then as if it were trying to power itself on , I have even had it where both fans will turn off . I got MSI Afterburner to mess with the fan speeds and see if I could get it to spin , and as unless I set it to 80 percent or higher it will not spin up at all , It seems like some kind of power saving feature , Like its idle fan speed has somehow been set to 0 , because at the higher temps as long as my fan curve is set right , it will turn on and cool the card normally, the fans are pretty loud at 80% though especially since it goes from 0 - 80 the noise difference is really bad . but as I said before the fans are in great condition , and spin very freely when spun manually . I have tried flashing its bios using a backup of the bios on my other card , I have tried using it with different power and PCI slots , I am a DIY kind of guy , and warranty is long gone , so I am open to the idea of opening the card up completely , but I have no idea what I would be looking for . any ideas on what might be causing this ? Any one else having this issue ? I really appreciate anyone who takes the time to read the essay above Thank you Dylan
