  1. So i just re installed the CMOS and i also read somewhere that resetting back to defaults in the bios also helped someone so i went ahead and did that. It seems to be working! but ill leave it idling for another hour or so and see if she stays awake. Thank you. iill be sure to post if it shuts down again.
  2. Hello! I've recently built my brand new budget gaming rig! Unfortunately, i've come across a slight problem. As of yesterday i have been experiencing periodic system shutdowns for no apparent reason, even when i'm idling. after my very first occurrence with this, a message appeared on the boot up screen that read; CMOS FAIL. I know that the CMOS is the nickel sized battery placed on the mobo, but could it really be causing the shutdowns? i know for a fact that the message definitely wasn't there before. I also know that these shutdowns aren't temperature related, i've been checking the temps with HWmonitor and i'm running at a cool 17 Celsius when idle. i cant really think what else it could be. A faulty PSU maybe? Any ideas?
