  1. Yeah I just double checked the 970 prices came down a bit, I thought they were 25-30 more than the 390 (thats almost 10%)
  2. The 980ti is a monster and the titan is just that, a titan. The 980 is a beast too, overpriced but a beast non the less. However the gtx 950,960, and 970 arent worth buying anymore. Lets go from the top down, the r9 390 > gtc 970 AND the r9 390 is CHEAPER THe r9 290 is slightly more expensive than the gtx 960 4gb AND beats it handily even if we go price comparison the r9 380 > gtx 960 at BOTH the 2gb and 4gb price points as for the gtx 950 the r9 285 is THE SAME PRICE and is better than the gtx 960 let alone the 950 IS there anything I am missing or does it seem that from a price to performance standpoint team red is winning in the sub $250 price range?
  3. Ok awesome, I actually couldnt believe that the 290 was 219
  4. Hey guys simple question, with a $225 gpu budget its either a r9 290 or a gtx 960 which is better for scII and LOL at 4k
  5. Hey guys simple question, is there a mini itx fm2+ with EITHER hdmi 2,0 or display port? I want to use a a10 7870k to output 60fps at 4k
  6. well if a r9 285 = an r9 380 then a 290 or 390 is overkill for what I need technically a 285 is overkill
  7. Hey guys! A little background about me and what I am going to be using my new rig for. I am a 24 and a full time financial consultant. I work M-F 9am-9pm. Every weeknight I come home and play 2-3 games of League of Legends to unwind before bed. That 1.5-2.5 hours a night is my stress relief. League is the ONLY cpu game I play. I recently got a modest pay bump and can now afford a Samsung U28D590D. All I want to do is play LOL at 4k. Now I watched the 4k affordable gaming build, That build was set around a R9285 which got him MINIMUMS of 74 fps. Obviously the display can only go 60hz so anything over 60fps mins is just wasted power. That means a r9 285 is my upper limit in terms of what to buy. My question is what is the LOWER limit to run LOL 4k at very high settings? Now I have done some research and according to logicalincrements, to run LOL at 4k you need anything from a r7250x to a gtx750 to a r7360. If I am looking at those gpus then wouldnt an AMD A10 7870k APU have the graphic horsepower to run LOL at 4k over displayport? Long story short is r7 250x < gtx 750 < r7 360 << R9 285 where does the a10 7870k go in that order of graphics cards? if the a10 is better than even the r7250x than I can just go that route. Now the reason I am asking this whole question is rather straight forward. I know a pentium g3258 with a h97 or z97 mobo is about 120 now at microcenter I can grab a a10 7870k with a mobo for 130. Essentially do I need a 80-140 dedicated gpu to run LOL at 4k? If I need a dedicated gpu I might go the pentium route, if I dont then I will just snag the a10 7870k bundle. Hell I might get the a10 anyway with the dedicated gpu THanks again for the help! ~Keith
  8. this might be a dumb idea but if the custom pcb cards are more expensive than the reference design why don't you try this: Reference 980ti + nzxt kraken g10 + coolermaster siedon 240m (about $60) = water cooled quiet and overclockable 980ti for about the price of a custom pcb card just my .02
  9. I would like this mouse because I have never had a "gaming" mouse and would love to have one not just for games but see how well it does for Solid Works and CAD
  10. Loved the 7th F&F movie so I got this stuck in my head "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa ft Charlie Puth
  11. That ending was so touching. Not gonna lie I am a gearhead and the original really got me into cars WAYYY back in '01, Damn just let the guy rest in peace. Do we need him for another movie? Hell no. Just let the series die with him
  12. Awesome thanks for the help guys! Now how much will my pentium bottleneck an r9 290? I plan on going pentium +r9 290 now and when I upgrade the processor throw a second r9 290 in their and use the pentium for a HTPC
  13. Those are both Haswell Refresh cpus if im not mistaken. I heard whispers that broadwell will also use Z97 is that a thing or no?
