    Dual or quad ram?

Just managed to pick up the 3200mhz c14. 2 kits of 2x8gb for 165. Good price.

    Dual or quad ram?

Struggling to find my royals @3200 cl14 in the UK. Everywhere completely sold out. But I did find the 3000 cl16 kits- https://www.ebuyer.com/871272-g-skill-trident-z-royal-silver-2-x-8gb-3000mhz-c16-kit-f4-3000c16d-16gtrs Would there be a noticeable difference for a 9900k? Bottlenecking etc....

    Dual or quad ram?

So if I purchase the 16gb kit and another kit next month I won't run into any trouble?
  6. Hi, Do you know if I can use X2 kits of https://www.overclockers.co.uk/g.skill-trident-z-royal-16gb-2x8gb-ddr4-pc4-25600c14-3200mhz-dual-channel-kit-silver-f4-3200c14-my-112-gs.html To make 32gb. As I can't find a quad kit 4x8gb in the UK at a decent price. Will I run into any issues with X2 dual kits? Aorus z390 master mobo Thanks

Had a think about it. Going to pick up the AORUS Z390 Master. Bite the bullet with the O/C and leave it alone. Worst comes to worst and I'll pick up a different board down the line. So thanks for being a positive member of these forums. Others could learn from you. Cheers bro!

Ok, thanks for the honesty dude. Everyone else just came across as elitist. So thanks.

Yeah I understand all the marketing BS. I give razer the same grief. I'm not just looking at the VRM 'issue' mind. I'm also thinking of other features. Bios etc... The chart you just linked put them in the safe choice. So are you saying the boards themselves are not bad boards. But you could get the same for less money? I'll admit I do have my heart set on Asus. I'm just an Asus guy after trouble with other manufacturers. I'm just trying to ascertain if say the formula would bottleneck/throttle the 9900k

Also tweaktown are recommending a good portion of the maximus range. So what gives. Is all the hate simply down to 4phase vrm(which I've seen nothing concrete that actually hinders performance at 5.0ghz). And price?

You all seem to be very anti-asus. Yes I get the price seems to be a massive sticking point. But after researching the VRM. I don't see any boards bottlenecking 9900k, no massive failures. No alarming temperatures. No poor quality components. I just don't understand all the hate lol.

I do get what your saying. But I despise the gigabyte bios. Done alot of research overnight. And yes I agree most of the maximus line up isn't upto par. But then I found the apex with a very good VRM array. Thoughts on that board? https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus-rog-maximus-xi-apex-intel-z390-socket-1151-ddr4-atx-motherboard-mb-6dh-as.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjwnpXmBRDUARIsAEo71tQC6cIKKfh5mG4kJyat3DxWMl2j-8a0wKHUvp4ppNCGdL4fTK1KA6UaAuTgEALw_wcB Also see this video about the VRM fiasco-

To be honest. I had trouble with a gigabyte and MSI boards in the past. But the last 2 Asus boards have never let me down. Just been perfect.

Ok, So been looking around. Does this mobo have 4phase or 8phase? https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus-rog-maximus-xi-formula-intel-z390-socket-1151-ddr4-atx-motherboard-mb-6cm-as.html?gclid=CjwKCAjw-4_mBRBuEiwA5xnFIPv3LtHXsKYAnj206neUTpXaIpgo4imsAo9IZegGKdZXanch7xDODxoCQlQQAvD_BwE Also the Formula has an intergrated VRM Waterblock but can this be used as a passive heat sink? If this is a good board I'll go for it and divert the money into an aio. With the scope to do a custom loop in the future.
