You could also make one from a ram stick. That would be also intresting.

I used this to cut through the pins than file the pins down with a metal file

yes it will work, EK uses the same blocks/backplates for the 660ti and 670 DCII cards

Edit: just remeber it will only work with the FC670 waterblock

Yeah thy vrm is all that really needs to be cooled because the chipset doesn't do much these days.

Another thing to note is that chipset coolers do almost nothing and are mostly for looks. But if you want one ek does make one for the maximus 5 formula.
