  1. Bump Does anyone have any clue if theres a fix for this? This really started happening randomly I didn't change or do anything differently on my laptop and this started happening (no installs/updates). I really dont get what my CPU temp has to do with my GPU voltage/load limit. I'm always plugged into an outlet whilst I was/am gaming not that has anything to do with it.
  2. My GPU (960m) is listed as supported by Optimus but I have no idea if my laptop has it nor do I know how to find out. This is what I found correlating to when my game would start bombing. I have no idea what to make of it tho (also sry if the images are too big don't know if I should be posting links to them or inserting) GPU 1 is my 960m there is a GPU2 listed which is the Intel integrated graphics but it doesn't show anything weird
  3. Temps are fine max 80. Should I look for something specific when using afterburner? Never used it before
  4. Thought I fixed it by changing preferred graphics processor in nvidia control panel to high performance nvidia processor but nope. Even tried setting it in program specific settings. Its like my Intel integrated graphics overrides my 960m after a certain amount of gaming. I have no idea what else I can do.
  5. So I start playing a game (overwatch) and after about 15 minutes or so my fps bombs and it becomes unplayable (around 15fps). The only thing I see which is weird af is that my intel HD graphics spikes to 90-100% utilization and my 960m utilization drops significantly. The temperature of my CPU and GPU are fine. Why is my Intel integrated graphics even being used??? Help appreciated greatly Windows 10, i7 6700HQ, 16gb ram, 960m (Dell XPS 15 9550 Signature Edition) *EDIT* So it seems temperature effects it somewhat but after fidgeting around even if I stay under 70 on my CPU temps my GPU voltage limit spikes and I get laggy/dropped FPS. GPU temps stay around 60 lol I don't know what to do (more screenshots in replies) When it starts happening --v continues --v
  6. I just prefer an acrylic window over anything to do with tempered glass
  7. Would love some suggestions for a case for my new build that are NOT tempered glass, well filtered, and that are around $80ish. 8. Should I try installing windows on my hard drive to get the data onto an external hard drive? Could it be that my SSD that has windows on it isn't working properly or my windows files corrupted? If it was a GPU problem would it be restarting my computer after not being able to get to the login screen tho? I'll try plugging into my motherboard when I'm back at my PC. *edit* this just popped up but it's back to flashing/restarting before login
  9. I get black flashing then after a little bit my PC automatically restarts before getting to the login screen. I have windows 7 ultimate with no license key on a ssd. No clue what to do any help would be appreciated. *edit* just got this but nothing has changed ***SEIZURE WARNING*** video link: streamable.com/re6y9 20200115_115952.mp4
  10. Updated my Realtek HD audio driver to the latest from my motherboards page (6.0.1.8) and disabled nvidias audio drivers in device manager also tried every audio jack port on my motherboard and nothing seems to make a difference. Don't really know anything else I can do other than call customer services at sennheiser
  11. So I've been using earbuds for the past 4 years or so and decided to go back to using a decent headset for music/gaming (Sennheiser HD 579). I really can't help but notice that certain instruments / vocals come out of the the left or right more prominently than the other side. It's especially noticeable in discord when talking to friends. EVERYONE sounds like there on the left side of me and its getting annoying. I feel stupid but is there something I need to do so that instruments and vocals come out evenly on both sides? I obviously don't want it to effect me hearing things from certain directions (gaming) or if its actually meant to come out the left more prominently than the right etc. I currently have it plugged into the front of my PC with the adapter that came with it.
  12. I think I've decided to go with the xps13. Thank you for the suggestions and help
  13. So i'm trying to find the most durable, reliable, long lasting laptop for my Mom. She will only be using it for browsing the internet, working in microsoft word, etc. Nothing taxing at all. I mainly just want it to be long lasting and durable with a good keyboard and track-pad. Preferably I would like 1tb of storage, at least 8gb of ram, and an i5/i7 (a webcam isn't needed but would be a nice touch). We do not have a budget, but I would like to keep it around $1,500. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Nope. Turned it up to 160 - 180 and all I get is worse fps.
