I'm a bit surprised. I'm running an AMD build only, and its pretty cool for only using air coolers

while I agree it's a great unit, it's slightly over OP's budget. But I know it can sometimes be found on sale for a little less, so that's an option!

What is your CPU cooling situation?

And heat out of the back is probably mostly the GPU, which is normal.

    like @GDRRiley said, seems normal.

If it's too loud you can buy a better cooler than the Intel stock one, it does get noisy when the fan spins up!

    Haha thanks
I see what you're trying to do, yeah I would disconnect the stuff from the motherboard and slide the PSU out, plug in the cables you need for the 1070 and slide the PSU back in and reconnect everything.

tROVLET reacted to nobelharvards in Question about Modmic models (its on sale)
Muted means it will have this.

You have a mute switch on your microphone, no need to mute via software. Some people prefer a software solution, some prefer a hardware one. Some like to have both options.

The muteless Modmic simply does not have the mute switch shown above. That's the only difference. Worth $4-5 to Antlion, apparently.

The so called "standard" Modmic is uni directional. Americans might be more familiar with the term "cardioid".

It is designed to pick up sound primarily from the direction it is facing. It is called cardioid by the Americans because the pickup pattern looks similar to a heart.

Typically, uni directional microphones exhibit slightly worse frequency response (sounds slightly less natural, sounds "flat" and helicopter pilot like, similar holding your nose and talking) but better noise isolation/less background noise (preferred by gamers, helicopter pilots, any noisy situation) compared to their omni directional counterparts.

If you have ever tried to speak to someone sitting next to you in a helicopter, you will know that you have to shout to be able to be heard at all.

When a reporter is in a helicopter with a headset on, you can hear their voice quite clearly over the helicopter.

The downside is, their voice sounds nothing like what it was originally, and often, you have to position the microphone very close, and therefore it picks up the hissing Ss, explosive Bs, Ts and Ps (any sound involving exhaling air out of your mouth).

Say "potato potato potato, tomato tomato tomato" with your hand very close to your mouth.

Omni directional means it is designed to pick up sound equally in all directions.

Typically, omni directional microphones exhibit slightly better frequency response (sounds more natural) but worse noise isolation compared to their uni directional counterparts. They are typically favoured by recording artists or any application requiring high sensitivity or audio clarity that is truer to the original sound.

Some people also favour omni directional microphones simply because you do not have to worry about which direction it is facing. With the pop filter (that's the cloth like cover on top) over the microphone, it can be difficult to tell which way is the "front". I know Antlion put a microphone symbol on one side just below the pop filter to tell uni directional owners which way it should be facing.

With an omni directional microphone, you do not have to worry about such things.

I am going to assume you are mainly a gamer. An omni directional microphone would definitely pick up on a mechanical keyboard even if the rest of your environment is quiet. I would suggest the uni directional one ("cardioid").

    Hope this helps.

Keep an eye on Massdrop, they have various sets come up periodically. Drops are updated pretty often, but if you check weekly you won't miss anything.

I kinda regret not getting in on the Vortex white backlit caps, I have the black but I have a new keyboard coming in that could really use white. The difference between PBT and ABS, is kinda hard to describe. You gotta really feel em, it's not just the slickness on ABS, there's just 'something' else that feels different. I don't like how some of the Vortex double shot the lettering isn't completely smooth on my black set... mine had some less used keys that you could feel where the lettering was (<>?shift keys maybe others, but those are the ones I use and noticed on)

Noctua case fans and CPU cooler. They are very quiet, and have a high air flow.

Also, Linus has his own Noctua branded fans which support the site, that are much more pleasant than the browny ones.

tROVLET reacted to ind3x in why the core clock change or the time?
    Google, my friend.
But set the powerlimit to the max, and see how high you can go on the core clock before you start artifacting in benchmarks like unigine's heaven benchmark.
When you've found your max core clock OC, you can also OC the memory. Same proces, crank it up slowly till you start artifacting.
With this method you got your max OC.
I tend to stay 25mHz below my max OC. (to avoid any kind of instability)
