So I saw Linus' ultimate silent pc build and he set the Asus Strix 980's temp target to 85°C, but isnt that too high, my 970 has a temp target of 79°C which is already pretty high so why do they that, i mean isnt it gonna reduce the gpu's lifespan drastically?

GET A i5 4690k and gtx 980

it doesnt matter, pcie 2.0 x16 is easily fastz enough for any gpu on the market
