2FA got a reaction from sazrocks in $129 for a glorified USB cable?
Yep, also the Apple cable is active so it boosts the signal sent over it. You'd be hard pressed to find an active cable for cheaper.

It will work I'm pretty sure, I did the same thing with an Intel iGPU and no other GPUs in the system.

It requires specially crafted packets which I believe browser sandboxing/security would stop so that a site's javascript couldn't directly interact with your network. I'm not too familiar with websockets and whether you'd be able to do this using them.

rc.local is the "old" way Ubuntu used to handle system services. Ubuntu has moved to systemd years ago and rc.local is no longer supported. You most likely followed an outdated guide originally.
What you did works but it has nothing to do with what rc.local used to be - it's just a shell script that you named rc.local. Personally I would remove all references to rc.local and just call it "vpn" or something. Also yes, your scripts need to be granted execution permissions in order to be executed... alternatively you can run it through bash.

2FA got a reaction from JustAnotherOverClocker in Hello MB my old friend - Proposed Bill would require backdoors in any device with over 1GB of storage.
Ignoring the partisan support, there is a opposing bill that also aims to fight child pornography and exploitation without breaking encryption. It's not very publicized, unfortunately.

I do not want to see any politics not directly related to encryption in this thread. It is outrageous. Where are the armed mods to take the rule violators away? Where are they? This kind of behavior is never tolerated in my threads. You discuss actual politics they give you a ban, right away, no warning. US Politics? We have a special ban for US politics. Capitalists? Right to ban. Socialists? Right to ban, right away. Anarchist? Ban. Authoritarian? Ban. You arguing too much about a political party, system? You right to ban. You understate a fact? Believe it or not, Ban. You overstate a fact? Also Ban. Understate/Overstate. You make a statement and you don't back it up, believe it or not ban right away. We have the best posters in the forum, because of ban.

Vkd3d is the software you're looking for, it's part of WINE. The original project owner passed away last year but development has been taken over by Hans-Kristian (forked the original, does a lot of open source graphics programming), Josh (owner of d9vk which got upstreamed into dxvk), and Doitsujin (owner of dxvk). Those are primary devs but there are plenty of others as well that are part of WINE and even Valve.

2FA got a reaction from pipnina in Linux gaming is BETTER than Windows?
Pretty much every game that I even play currently runs really well on Linux. (World of Warships, AC Odyssey, Metro Exodus, Divinity: Original Sin 2). At this point, the only things that don't run well are things that don't run at all on Linux such as certain anticheats and postprocessing like Reshade.
