Tech N Gamer got a reaction from YamiYukiSenpai in What Linux Distros are EFI bootable?
From what I can tell, the major distro's are both UEFI and BIOS compatible, along with what bootloader you're using.

Tech N Gamer got a reaction from sazrocks in Ubuntu 16.04 or any other linux os hasn't saved downloads
Once you finish that, you can either download Steam.deb (Fedora, Ubuntu, Debian), or open terminal and type "sudo apt install steam". Either option should work. I do wonder one thing, you state you're a gamer and don't get me wrong, a lot of games are starting to come out for Linux, it's just most games aren't available for Linux like GTA V, Thumper, Subnatuica, etc. I would suggest a dual boot (what I'm doing) or have a dedicated gaming computer and just in home stream it to another, Linux based computer.

I know, I'll get it tidied up soon, I just want to get the features in first.

Tech N Gamer got a reaction from Septimus in windows reset help
I suggest opening up the settings app -> System -> Storage -> "Drive that is full". Windows will tell you what type of files are being used up the most. Clicking on each category gives you a summary of what those files are. Or you can use WinDirStat and find what files are the biggest that way.

Tech N Gamer reacted to Sebivor in Prints a char normally, but full string when debugged.
Regarding the capitalisation of file format extensions, I guess that's kindOfLikeCamelCase. I prefer not to be bothered by it; when we allow ourselves to be so easily upset, we heighten the risk of heart attacks and other forms of physical harm. There's no need to be that bothered, right? I suggest anger management...
Regarding your question, it isn't entirely clear what the problem is. You say a char is being printed... Which char? We can't see it. You say you expect a string... Which string? Again, we can't see it! This information would help us to help you get a quick answer.
In a striking twist of character, you seem to have developed a preference for CAPITALISATION!
Do you want us to respond to that? It seems like it could be relevant (shame it wasn't in the question), as you're technically not guaranteed to `Write` as many bytes as `SetCursorPosition` have seeked back over...
Yet it also seems that a programmer should seek out his own research, and you wouldn't believe what I found in the second result of a search for "how to stop command prompt from going to the next line in C#":
I reckon this is your EUREKA MOMENT! CAN WE USE CAPITALS TO EXPRESS OUR EXCITEMENT? This might resolve your phenomena, but even if it doesn't, it's certainly something you'd want to fix...
Let us not forget, when the words "see attached" are found, one should ALWAYS open WHACKA~1.EXE.

Sorry for the long wait, probably also breaking a forum rule here, but I wanted to inform you that after building the program, it doesn't do that single char thing, however, it does make a double progress bar 1 time. However, that did seem to be a one-time thing.

Tech N Gamer got a reaction from vanished in KDE taking long time to write to NTFS flash drive
Well, either way, if other distro's are having issues writing/reading, and even the linux command line, then it's probably something to do with Linux. Right?

Tech N Gamer reacted to noahdvs in What linux distro should I use?
If you want a customizable or Windows like desktop environment, use a distro with KDE or Cinnamon. For newbies, Ubuntu or something based on it tends to be a good choice because of the vast amount of community support.
You already know about Ubuntu and others have already recommended Mint. KDE neon is also worth looking at. It has a more minimal default install than Ubuntu or Mint. It's based on LTS Ubuntu, but it gets the latest KDE software. This means non-KDE packages that don't affect security will be updated in April of 2018, but there are easy ways to get around that and most of those non-KDE packages are non-essential. Normal Ubuntu has a new major version every 6 months in April and October and I believe Mint has a new major version once a year.
I used KDE neon for about 6 months and I enjoyed it very much.
FYI, you can use just apt instead of apt-get and you get a nice little progress bar in the terminal if you use apt instead of apt-get
apt is supposed to be more friendly to humans while apt-get is better in scripts.

Tech N Gamer got a reaction from Misanthrope in If students had guns would the 'terrorist' have been shot dead in under a minute?
Ah, the American way of solving every problem:
Person 1: "How do we solve this issue of a knife attacker on a campus?"
Person 2: "I know, let's arm all the students on the campus!"
Person 1: "Damn it that genius!"
Person 3: "Maybe we just increase security and work with students for a better atmosphere."
Person 1 & 2: "STFU person 3, your stupid."

Tech N Gamer reacted to Vitalius in Why are some format types grayed out when using GParted
Yeah. Just sudo apt-get install btrfs-tools for BTRFS and exfat-utils for exFat or whatever you need. Google your linux distro then the format you want then the word "package".
Example:
Ubuntu exfat package
Arch btrfs package

Tech N Gamer got a reaction from Technous285 in Is this pc powerferful enough?
Not all i5's are dual core, the one in my rig is a quad core, the i5-####M's are dual core's, i3's and pentiums (if I am correct) are all dual core no matter what.
To original post:
Also, like people were saying before me, if your using this computer to stream and that's it then it's probably good enough, I'd test the stream first though, it's a bit choppy then use a capture card.

Tech N Gamer reacted to ThinkWithPortals in What is daisy chaining?
Daisy chaining is the ability to plug, for example, instead of 2 monitors into your graphics card, you can plug one monitor into your graphics card and the other monitor into the first monitor and have the computer work with them all.

Tech N Gamer got a reaction from NinjaJc01 in What is your hardware quirk?
I also forgot, if I clean my monitor (it's brand new Dell 23.8" 1920x1080), one pixel will just stay magenta until I restart Windows, even if I tell the monitor to run pixel persistence clean option, and tell windows to sleep/hibernate/goto lock screen it'll still be their until I restart or shut down the computer.

Tech N Gamer got a reaction from NinjaJc01 in What is your hardware quirk?
I have a laptop where if a USB hub is plugged in it won't boot at all, even when you unplug it while it's checking the hardware. You have to unplug the USB hub while the laptop is off.

Tech N Gamer got a reaction from krevan88 in How can two 24" monitors be different sizes?
The 24" refers to the diagonal size. Like lower left point to upper right. So if one monitor is 1920x1080 and another is 1900x1800 then they will be different. However, some manufacturers don't include bezels.

Tech N Gamer got a reaction from Naeaes in Writing to file
Okay, after a ton of yawns and being drowsy, I've figured it out, I think. I think it's because Eclipse made it say
System.clearProperties("user.home") instead of
System.getProperties("user.home") . Here is the new code if anyone want's to see it:
private void checker() { String dirPath = System.getProperty("user.home") + "\\AppData\\Roaming\\ClassMaker"; String filePath = System.getProperty("user.home") + "\\AppData\\Roaming\\ClassMaker\\settings.ini"; System.out.println(dirPath + "\n" + filePath); if (System.getProperty("os.name").equals("Windows 10")) { if (new File(dirPath).exists()) { if (new File(filePath).exists()) { try { Scanner fileOpener = new Scanner(new File(filePath)); String line = fileOpener.nextLine(); String[] varibles = line.split("="); if (varibles[1].equals("true")) { alreadyRan = true; } } catch (FileNotFoundException e1) { JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "An error has occured and the program failed to read a file." + "\nPlease send this error to the dev so he can figure out a fix.\n" + e1.toString(), "An Error has occured!", JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE); System.exit(ABORT); } } else { createNewFile(filePath); } } else { if (!new File(dirPath).mkdir()) { JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "An error has occured and the program failed to create a directory." + " The most likly cause of this is the program doesn't have proper" + "read and write permission.", "An Error has occured!", JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE); System.exit(ABORT); } else { createNewFile(filePath); } } } } private void createNewFile(String path) { File file = new File(path); try { file.createNewFile(); } catch (IOException e) { JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "An error has occured and the program failed to create a file." + "\nPlease send this error to the dev so he can figure out a fix.\n" + e.toString(), "An Error has occured!", JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE); System.exit(ABORT); } try { PrintWriter printToFile = new PrintWriter(file.getAbsolutePath()); printToFile.print("alreadyRan=true"); printToFile.close(); } catch (IOException e) { JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "An error has occured and the program failed to read a file." + "\nPlease send this error to the dev so he can figure out a fix.\n" + e.toString(), "An Error has occured!", JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE); System.exit(ABORT); } }

This will look in the root of the jar. If you have a resources folder or something you can change it to getResource("somefolder/whatever/myicon.png");

The real Feminists are long gone. In America, women have the same rights as men, same opportunities, same everything. We don't need Feminism. At all. Now, there are countries that need Feminism, but Feminists are too scared to go there (since they'll probably be beheaded and have the film uploaded online.) I don't blame them for being scared. But, in the US/EU/CA/developedcountryhere we don't need it.
