    Which drive to choose?

I am only looking at 1 drive, but a large capacity like 6/8/10TB depending on cost. I want to use the New drive for just the media for the plex server, and also have the files there for dl/seeding. I currently have 3 HDDs in my rig, but will retire one of the smaller ones I have 1 250GB SSD for OS 1 seagate baraccuda 2TB from 2010ish 2x WD SE Drives (2TB and 4TB) i dont believe the mounts are rubberized. I want to use the New drive for just the media for the plex server, and also have the files there for dl/seeding. it needs to be reliable for the constant use it will have. what kind of drive is best for that?

    Which drive to choose?

I want to get a new hdd drive to use in my pc that will mainly be used for plex home server purposes. Last one i purchased was an 2tb enterprise WD drive. Nothing wrong with it after many years, just full. The 6TB+ enterprise is just too expensive. What should I go for? A Nas drive like wd red?
  3. So I recently moved house, havent really gamed on my PC for a while now, fair bit of typing (no issues there) but loaded up Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Seem to be having an issue where the game (and previous tomb raider games as well) are acting like the key presses are being repeated like a turbo mode. its not all the time though, its fine for a few seconds, then starts again. Ive restarted computer, changed USB ports, still happens. not sure what else to do. I have a Ducky Shine 3 (Cherry MX brown switches) quick Gif of whats happening https://giphy.com/gifs/67pTV1hgID3xEfgVfP
  4. My Pixel 2 XL just got an automatic update to the phone app and it is awful. They changed the colours and I hate it. I can go back to the factory version, but that is not the one I want to downgrade to. Is there a way to get a previous version? preferably the one from a couple of days ago?

Which phone to get on a contract? Pixel 2 XL or S9+?

My bank supports both, its a big Aussie bank though. ive been using Samsung pay, and its very good. Can vouch for it. Decided to get the S9+. I waited so long for it. After some more research I decided to buy it outright rather than get a plan. works out better that way for me.

Which phone to get on a contract? Pixel 2 XL or S9+?

I use my phone mostly for calls, texts, taking photos, and using it for loyalty cards and to pay if i forget my wallet or something like that. I dont play mobile games at all. So both fit the bill for what I want. I have to admit I might miss the wireless charging if i go for the Pixel, but so many times it just doesnt fully charge so im on the fence about it. I completely forgot about the lack of expandable storage on the Pixel... might be a dealbreaker

Which phone to get on a contract? Pixel 2 XL or S9+?

Mine is ok, I had my first handset for about a year. then I got it replaced under warranty because it was restarting and getting really hot. I have had the replacement handset for about a year now and I have a few deep scratches, and.I feel like the phone has gotten slower. Not sure if it was from an update,or if is just me using other newer phones that put in perspective how slow it is. Im really surprised no one straight out recommended the Pixel 2 XL for the price. The Carrier service is basically free. ($1349rrp for Pixel 2 XL / 24) If i kept my current phone, I would have to go for a $49 month to month deal, Pixel 2 would only cost me $240 extra out of pocket. Is the phone really that bad?
  8. So my contract for my s7 is ending soon, I am in the market for a new phone. I have been planning to get the S9+, but I have come across an offer which is too good to pass up. I can get the Pixel 2 XL 64GB to own for $59 AUD a month for 24 Months (unlimited calls and texts with 15GB data) compared to the s9+ for $109 on the same plan, or I could go for a lease plan for $99. If I am going to spend that kind of money, I could go for the s9+ on a better plan with 70GB data and a way better international roaming offer for $129 on lease and $139 to own it. I do get a Samsung Convertible wireless charger and an 8.0" Galaxy Tab A (cellular version) if I pre-order the s9+ which is a fairly substantial extra. but still not sure if worth the extra. As you can see, there is a pretty huge price difference and have since just become confused as to what to go for.

    Homegroup Issues

The issue I had was because of a setting. I had to enable "allow windows to manage homegroup connections" in advanced sharing settings. As soon as I enabled that all worked 100%.

    Homegroup Issues

I got access to all the PCs, changed the name of most of them (2 laptops were named the same thing), I suspect that's where the problems I had started) Managed to create a new homegroup. Yay! I seem to be having issues with accessing files located on a Windows7 pc with windows 10, but that PC can access my files just fine. Do all pcs need to have a windows login?

    Homegroup Issues

So I've been on a bit of a PC chore list lately. One of those things is to get the home network sharing working again. I had set up the original homegroup on a PC install that no longer exists, and all the other PCs no longer are connect to it and the password is not accessible anymore. Some googling told me to get on every windows PC in the network, and leave the homegroup so I can create a new one. There is one PC I cant access because my brother is at work, so I have unplugged it from the wall. But the rest of them (3 laptops and 2 desktops) are no longer joined to the homegroup but I cant seem to be able to create a new group, and the passwords I scavenged before leaving the homegroups (2 of them) arent the correct password so I am stuck unable to create a new group. Has anyone got any tips to troubleshoot further? Im at a loss at to what to do.

Program that auto finds image files?

I tried "Zoner Photo studio X" but I couldnt figure out how to filter just images and/or videos so it was just like using explorer. I got Picasa 2.8.2 because that was the most downloaded of the old versions and seems to be doing exactly what i was expecting. It shows me photos and videos organised by folder There is a lot of stuff I dont want to transfer over which I why I wanted some kind of preview/organisation software. I'm in no real rush so could just search for "*.jpg OR *.jpeg OR *.png OR *.gif OR *.bmp" in explorer, check back after a while, then copy it all over, but the amount of stuff I don't want like album covers, crappy paint diagrams and stuff like this

Program that auto finds image files?

I knew it would be a mess regardless. Any idea of what version I should grab? Why would a legacy version be better? I have never used Picasa.

Program that auto finds image files?

To clarify, explorer is how i have always done it, but I dont want to forget a single file type and therefore forget a whole bunch of photos. Thats why i want to see all image types at once.
  15. Over the years, particularly the 2000's, I have been pretty lazy about my file storage system, and never really transferred the important files once a drive/pc was upgraded. I have been on a a bit of a binge and sorted most of the images in my internal drive with mostly memory. I now have about 6 old hard drives that I want to plug in to my hard drive dock and search for those irreplaceable photos and get them stored properly, (internal, external and cloud). Luckily they are all under 500GB Is there a good, free program out there that can search and show me image files of all file types? Would be awesome if it could do video files as well. Or should I stick to the explorer search function?
