  1. My parents own a business so they need to make backups pretty often. They've been using the same old toshiba external harddrive forever and don't back up often enough. I would get them a WD my cloud nas because they're supposed to be easy to use and I would hope that they would be inclined to use it very often. http://www.amazon.com/Mirror-Personal-Network-Attached-Storage/dp/B00ITI05CS?psc=1&SubscriptionId=AKIAJM4NKIQGABP2PIRA&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B00ITI05CS&tag=thewire06-20&ascsubtag=WC201 This link defaults to the 4TB 2 drive one, but the 4TB SINGLE drive one is far less expensive and would take up much less space.

  3. Search has failed me again. Oh well. I guess this post should be deleted.
  4. http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/acer_xb270hu.htm Holy crap this thing is amazing. Looks like this is going to be one of the definitive gaming monitors for a while. Quick response time and only 3ms of input lag. It even has motion blur reduction. Color reproduction isn't the greatest in the world but its far from the worst. Essentially, the article says move over ROG swift, there's a new gsync monitor in town. The article suggests to expect availability in April. Its a very lengthy and detailed review and if you're interested in this monitor, it'll tell you everything you want to know except an actual price.
  5. As a gigabyte G1 gtx 970 owner, Im already fed up with the coil whine issue. I've gone through three different cards and they all had coil whine. I decided to just give up and live with it. I bought this gpu so that when i upgrade my monitor to 4k when windows 10 drops, i'd have a big enough frame buffer to deal with it. I also needed a card that would support game stream to my nvidia shield because my old gtx 570 didn't. Now 3.5 gigs is still a lot of memory BUT I PAID for 4 gigs. If they offer recalls, I'm gonna get my money back and wait for gtx 1070.
  6. WHAT? https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=6Ajhzlq42f0#t=3 if its anywhere under $1000 I'll be getting this without any hesitation.
  7. @nicklmg I'd love to see how Civilization 5 handles this absurd resolution. Normally the UI is so big and obstructive at normal aspect ratios, a super widescreen monitor (let alone three) seems like a godsend for people who enjoy the series, like myself. I can't wait to see the followup. also i'd be interested to see how well crysis 3 runs at this resolution. Probably not well.
  8. can someone with the preview submit some feedback requesting something similar to fences for sorting programs and icons on the desktop. I'd do it myself but I don't have a computer that I could afford to put the preview on.
  9. I like the shrowd and the backplate on the zotac card and the 4GB of vram on the 970s definitely will come in handy
  10. I think its nice OP. But i'd rather wait for a gen 2 or 3. Im looking for something super basic and cheap that can just be a dedicated steam in home streaming receiver. I think thats what a lot of people are waiting for. In the meantime, this looks like it could be a cool little machine for someone thats looking for a decent HTPC (given an appropriate price). The physical aesthetic is nice and the graphics card shouldnt kick out much heat since 750TIs can run fanless. Processor at first glance seem a bit much but an i7 may provide some sort of advantage for video stream decoding over lesser CPUs.
  11. cars with that much power weren't using conventional tires anyway. This is something for average joe's toyota camery or ford focus. I doubt these things would work well on heavy trucks and fullsize body on frame SUVs either.
  12. They've gotten a little intrusive with their ads and trying to push their premium version on free users, but its not that big of a deal with me. Its still good at keeping most things off, for the most parts. Malwarebytes takes care of the rest.
