  6. local repair guy, make some flyers/cards post them round your area, be competitive - no fix no fee - and go into business yourself, experience counts sometimes MORE then qualifications
  7. they will know if they like you in the first 30 seconds,. dont be cocky but be confident, get them to like you, dont go on and on about how much you love tech, but point out why you would be good for them, why your skills matter,. and what you can bring to the company over everyone else, dress smart, and be prepared to ask questions, but ask good ones about the company. dont ask them how they feel the interview went etc... you wont be tested on printers on the interview, they want to know how you will be with customers, how you will be on the phone how you will represent them. source, =. I employ people regularly
  8. hmm ok well, you can try a repair, but i dont know if it'll work the key is F11 apparently for the repair function, you will lose everything though if it works and youll be back to how it was when it was bought, so back up what you need to your computer, and hit F11 during startup to see if it will run the repair
  9. ok, try Fn+F8 , if that doest work we'll try something else =)
  10. i agree it does look like the boot manager is corrupt, but we'll try some things he might have gotten lucky
  11. ok we'll do a little more and if your not lucky then you'll have to fresh install, ok when you turn the laptop on does it come up with a logo before it goes to windows, it should post before it hits the start -up screen, turn the laptop off completely then turn it on and look for any options, like press "key" for startup options it might be quick, so do it untill you see something like that.
  12. oh i didnt even see that, i didnt realise you took the HDD out man , nice one VioDuskar
  13. ok can you tap f8 while the computer is starting and go into safe mode?
  14. ok, and have you done the repair? if so what does it say ( i know you might be repeating yourself, but just for clarification)
  15. nope not worth it, it looks like one of those ebay builds
  16. ok dude, can you tell me exactly what it says when you boot it up does it look like this with an error under it or like this with options
  17. can you post a video or sound file on soundcloud/youtube? or find one like it
  18. get a flash drive, put windows on it = no more optical glad you had as good time, but next time post here before you buy and we can advise so you dont make the mistakes again =)
  19. good luck dude, post back if it works or if it doesn't and we can help you from there ( being a fresh install makes it a little easier)
  20. its cool my man, info, - make and model of laptop, the windows version you had and the one you upgraded to (pro, home, educational etc..) what you did to upgrade, ( fresh install, upgrade from previous etc) what was changed in the time it was fine until the time it was not working.
  21. your friend is buying expensive peripherals, maybe spend more on the build and get those later on, if he can do that, rather then nearly 200-250 on a mouse an keyboard, just my opinion, you can still get a nice build dont get me wrong but get a solid foundation to build on rather then compromise for the sake of a little "bling"
