    Those jumps were amazing, maybe they'll make a skateboarding version? Also, how much does it weigh? If it can last so long on battery I'd imagine it weighs at least 500 lbs.

    With gold mining you'll at least get a few grains of gold if you spend a few days doing it, with crypto mining you'll only get a large power bill.

    No, they're worthless at the moment. There are too many for any one of them to be viable. Wait for them to be mainstream (like walmart accepting bitcoin) to do anything.

    With the way things are going with Nvidia, a single high power GPU is the best course. Also, If you're wanting the second GPU for rendering and gaming at the same time, you'll need a beefy CPU for that. Don't bother.

    When a GPU is busy it uses the PCIE lanes to communicate with the CPU, which uses the CPU resources. If you really want to waste your electricity on GPU mining, get another computer to do it. It's not worth it now, and you're better off using your GPU for a better cause like Protein folding. If you want more info, the forum has a board dedicated to it.

    Get a new mouse or warranty it if it's still in warranty. All mice break over time, some worse than others. I had a mouse start double-clicking on me when I only clicked once after a few years.

    I've helped a family friend with their computers before, I replaced two PSUs made by Bestec in one year, would not recommend. Also, 300W is a little slim for a PSU, I'd get a 450 Watt to be safe, PSUs like Bestec tend to slowly deliver less and less of their rated power over time.

    If you really want RAID0, then get a backup HDD and make frequent backups. In reality, RAID0 is pretty useless with SSD speeds and HDD latency. If you're only using it for Steam then I don't see any harm in it, just don't expect faster load times.

    When you plug ethernet from a router to the port on the motherboard, are there LED lights? If so, what colors?

    In my opinion, no. Most movies are mastered for 1080p bluray, and 4k blurays are so new and expensive that it's not worth it. Wait a few years when they get cheap to buy it, let someone else pay the early adopter tax.

    If the TV has an up scaling engine then anything that is displayed goes through processing to make it upscaled. I honestly wouldn't worry about it if you think it works fine, and to answer your question yes, any image would work, from any source.

    Hmm at this point is it even worth it? The GPU I already have is roughly equivalent to a GTX 660, and I don't think that half of a GTX 770 is any better if not worse. Then again, it's only 50 bucks, and if it doesn't work so well I can just give it to my little brother running an NVS gpu from 2011. Edit: If Droidbot is right then I sure am excited! Maybe I can borrow my friend's 980 to test with!

    Yeah I knew I was risking it with anything from banggood, and $160 is way out of my price range! I'll try to post results when I get it in.

    Thanks! I think my BIOS even has the option to disable the dedicated graphics (or switch to the Intel ), so I shouldn't need to mess with clover. Surprisingly Dell's BIOS is pretty robust, I guess for an enterprise laptop it has to be.

    So I just ordered this off of Banggood for my Dell Precision m4800, and I'll be putting a GTX 770 (or 790, I can't remember what my friend has) in it. I already have a PSU (really cheap one from my university surplus), so I think I've got everything I need. Am I doing this right, or am I forgetting anything? Also, what kind of boost should I expect? My current GPU is the one in my laptop, the K2100M, so will the expresscard link be too much of a bottleneck?

    Why not rely on the automatic features? It's never failed my dad in ten years of North Texas thunderstorms.

    Then you shouldn't even worry about getting a really big UPS. Just get an 'active' UPS (the kind that has no switching delay from line power to battery power) with USB that will provide power commands, and you'll be fine. I lived in Texas where thunder was a big problem, and the power always went out. My Dad uses an old APC ups with USB commands, and it works to prevent any damage. The batteries last for two minutes on idle for his PC, but it's only to safely power down the PC.

    If he sets up auto-power off it doesn't matter his wattage.

    Yes, you install drivers/program for the UPS to tell the computer to power off on power loss. Also, don't worry about wattage. It still gives the shutoff command, which should take a minute max if you're gaming with a HDD as your install disk.

    That one works great, it has USB so that it'll tell your computer to shut down on power loss. Edit: I wouldn't worry about wattage with any UPS that has USB to turn the computer off
