  1. Ok so if they cant be teamed together and comparing them to dual 10GbE Ethernet alternatives these cards are half the price and have twice the bandwidth. In your opinion, do they sound like a good deal?
  2. That's kind of the point of this post... I wouldn't be posting about this if I could answer that question myself. The idea is inspired by this Linus video He is doing the same thing that I PLAN on doing with these cards, if I find out if it's possible. Specifically (As Linus describes it) Daisy chaining two PCs, while also (If possible) combining both 40Gbps connections for a really fast 80Gbps connection.
  3. Yeah that's why I'm posting before I do. They offered both cards for £100 and I plan putting one in my main pc and one in my server and just directly connecting them.
  4. Hey guys, The the company I work for are updating their server machines, and had some parts laying around that they weren't going to use in the new servers so I got the chance to purchase them. The part I am interested in is a dual 40Gbps HP infiniband network card that they have two of. The model number: QLE7342-HP My main question is does this card support some sort of link aggregation (Via Windows Server) to make the dual 40Gbps ports a single 80Gbps connection? and the sub question is will I have any issues running this (I'm going to assume) server grade card in a consumer board? Thanks for looking.
  5. This is going to be used as a file server, so I'd like ECC support. The issue is finding a board that is narrow enough to fit in the ncase, but also has 3 expansion slots. There are a lot of boards like this which have 3 expansion slots, but are too wide for the case.
  6. Hey there, I am looking for a board to use all of the space in an NCASE M1. The case has 3 expansion slots and I intend to put in some sort of E3 Xeon for socket 1150. Does anybody know of a board that fits these requirements? Thanks.
  7. What's interesting is according to these benchmarks, the 4790k has the best single thread performance out of these CPUs: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html#
  8. Hey guys, So back in February I recently bought a 5960x and a 5930K. The former was for my personal system and the latter was intended to be the CPU for a system that would host a game server. Since this purchase I have also decided that this hosting system should also be a file server. The PC still hasn't been built and I can still return the 5930k for a full refund. So my question is what would be the best Xeon choice to handle a Modded Minecraft server(Which is only single threaded) and while being a file server with around 8-10 drives in RAID. Xeon E3 CPUs seem to be better at single threaded tasks than E5s (From looking at benchmarks) but is that still the case when handling a file server too? More details: OS: Probably Windows Home Server (Open to suggestions) Raid: Undecided weather to go for software or hardware raid. Budget for CPU alone: Around £450 Drives: I am going for speed. I don't want to store any general files on my main PC, I want everything to sit on the file server. If there is more details that you need that I have left out, let me know. Thanks, Mura.
  9. Wow I really appreciate the detailed examples, thanks so much! It was this that I was having trouble with for some reason: <a onClick="trigger_action('<? echo $unique_identifier; ?>');">Action Button</a> And it was how I would "attach" unique data when all of the displayed data inst unique (Display name and amount) but I didn't even think to give the divs I was already generating an id of the items rawId which is a unique value. Thanks again for the ajax code snippets!
  10. I really appreciate the example and I have my php script updating the data periodically so thanks! If you are familiar with the topic and it's ok with you, I have another question. My other goal was to have an initially hidden div element appear when a user clicks on one of the div elements I am generating with the php script. The purpose of this now visible div element would be to send the data from the element we clicked to a new php script. I know how to do all of this, but one problem is I need to make a query in this new script but the data that we echo from the first php script is not unique data. So my question is how can I attach extra data to the div elements so I can also pass that to the new php script to I can make a query but also not have this visible?
  11. Alright so currently I have created a PHP script that displays records from a MySQL database as 3 columns but I want the data echo'd by the PHP script (Inside div elements) to update dynamically as the database gets new data. The PHP Script: <?php // Connection script: include 'connect.php'; //Query $sql1 = "SELECT * FROM item"; $result = $conn->query($sql1);?><!DOCTYPE html><html><head> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css"> <title>Record Display</title></head><body> <div id="item-wrapper"> <?php $item_num = 0; // total number of records $num_records = mysqli_fetch_row($result); while ($item = mysqli_fetch_assoc($result)){ if ($item_num % 3 == 0){ ?><div class="left_column"><?php } // If its the second column of 3 write the div middle_column class else if ($item_num % 3 == 1){ ?><div class="middle_column"><?php } // If its the second column of 3 write the div right_column class else if ($item_num % 3 == 2){ ?><div class="right_column"><?php } ?><div class="item"><?php echo $item['displayName']; ?></div></div> <?php $item_num ++; } ?> </div></body></html> So my question is what would be the best method for implementing this? Thanks.
  12. Thanks for the tips Yeah I know how much effort, time and precision it would take, but my problem is I half want to do it for the looks (of course ) and half because I want to avoid using dyed coolant to avoid the hassle down the line. My friend had green coolant in his WC system 2 year ago and his coolant is still turning green haha
  13. They have some UV purple soft tubing but none that looks like the acrylic version unfortunately.
  14. Hey guys, So I am starting a new build in the TJ07 and I don't know whether to go for Acrylic Tubing or Soft Tubing. The colour of Tubing/Coolant I am going for is this. I believe in that picture the Acrylic tubing is clear, and the coolant is Feser One. But Primochill has this acrylic tubing available. Sooo.... Soft Tubing: Never going to find the colour of tubing I am after, but could use that Feser Coolant (But that comes with the downsides of staining and etc...) Acrylic Tubing: Lots and lots of work, but I can use the Primochill coloured tubing and don't have to worry about staining. Aaand that's basically my situation. Any ideas are appreciated
  15. My desired setup is 3x1440p monitors in portrait mode show here, and then a fourth 4K monitor for displaying extra content and probably wouldn't be used for gaming. For the 1440p monitors I want to go with the Asus ROG Swifts since they have G-sync and go up to 144Hz. Then the 4k one might be this.
