Only thing you lose actually is 4 3.5 inch drive cages and optical bays. The cool thing is that as far as I know, you can user all the storage options at the same time as all the rad options. This couldn't be done with the regular r5. You also keep the foam according to the fractal website. Since you only lose drive cages, this is a great value imo.

I see how this case wouldn't be for some people. For me it's perfect since it's only $79.99 in the U.S. and I don't pay for feature I don't use. Since I'm scared of modding, the included pump mount and resivour mount is perfect, but It does limit the option of placement.

If you need maxwell or dislike dual cards this looks nice. However we must point at the red elefant in the room: 295x for about the same. Granted you must factor in a much better PSU and crossfire woes but still.

Just goes to add further weight to what many of us have been saying for years now,  All companies lie, cheat, say whatever to get the job done, but when one gets caught out everyone carries on like no one else does it.  It doesn't matter if you bought shares in AMD or GTX970 an unethical outcome is an unethical outcome.
 
Let's hope this is just a storm in a teacup or we might be looking at another takeover.  Part of me really hopes for a Samsung v Nvidia GPU shootout.  But I don't want to see AMD go the way of 3dfx.

People suck at driving, thats just a fact. The best drives humanity has are those who race, who actually can react fast. 
 
Cars have been better than drivers for a decade IMO. People will always be the weakest link. We just suck. Especially a vast majority of the population that only commutes to work and doesn't care. People like that need to hand over the reigns to a computer that is more attentive than they ever will be.

Lots of these machines are extremely expensive for what they are. I don't see these(few exceptions) competing with consoles the way Valve intended. There needs to be some sort of specification for what can be a steam machine and at what price must they start.

I don't think some people here understand exactly how foundries run and how chips are actually made from the original wafers...Back in the Optron/Prescott days Intel could pull a 40% rate and still get more than AMDs 60%, only because Intel used far larger wafers to start out with, but 40% is still a shockingly low number all things considered. 
Things haven't really improved a great deal since then. 

I wonder if Nvidia will rebadge the 980 as the 1070 or whatever it will be called. If not, I hope it will have equivalent performance or better. I also want to see what AMD has under their sleeve. It looks like this upcoming GPU war will pretty chaotic.

I finally finished this rig! Well, most of it. Later on, it's going to photographed and loop will be filmed while being filled. Can't wait to showcase to you guys the finished video.
