Denned got a reaction from ErxQQ in Make your cloth mousepad as good as new!
This is basically the same as washing any other fabric like a carpet or a seat in your car. So it should be fairly straight forward for most people
Before you start, I'd say that you might need to be careful using this technique, if you have a mousepad with printing on. As you can see, the Roccat logo on mine is nearly gone, actually after only one single wash. But the alternative for me was to spend 30$ on a new one.

Every soap has different properties. Something like the carpet cleaner I used is very aggressive. It's designed to remove really tough stains from fabric.
Whereas normal dish soap is designed to remove grease from tables or plates. I guess it might be the perfect balance between too aggressive while not being too gentle.
The soap you use with your clothing might be worth a try though. Since it's for clothing (like t-shirts with prints on) I imagine it would do a decent job You could put your mousepad in a bucket with some moderate warm water and however much clothing soap you see fit. Let it sit for a few minutes and then carefully squeeze out the water and let it dry

If you want to be very careful, then use some moderate warm water, without soap or anything. If you have prints, then be careful not to rub on those. After that you just let it dry. It might take some time, since squeezing out water could also destroy your prints if you aren't careful.

I have a few options for cleaning fabrics. The one to the right is Vanish stain remover. Basically the average household stain remover. The one to the left is Sonax foam upholstery cleaner. I've just gotten the Sonax a few days ago for my car, so I'm going to try that. Most mousepads has like 1mm of fabric so I really doubt anything would have a hard time cleaning a mousepad

This is what my mousepad looks like after months upon months of use. But the old sweat and dead skin makes for a good blackboard!

Start by making the mousepad wet, with the hottest water you can touch without getting your hands burned.

No, sadly it isn't grease you can see floating in the water. That would be a bit too easy. It is air bubbles. Get the entire mousepad wet, and rub the hot water into the fabric.

This is the Sonax hard at work. The foam have two jobs. One is to loosen the dirt/grease and the other one is to lift up the dirt/grease. Let it sit for a few minutes. The instructions says 3-5 minutes for the Sonax, which might be different on the one you're using. However since the facric is very thin, a minute or two should be enough. If it's really dirty, you can help it by rubbing the foam into the mousepad.

Rinse the foam off. If it's still dirty, you can redo the foam step.

After the foam is gone and the mousepad is mostly clean. You can fold together the mousepad. And while having hot water running onto the mousepad, you can squeeze that and some more gease out. When you feel like it's clean, then turn off the water, squeeze the water out you can, and let it dry

This is the finished product. The mousepad is 4-5 years old, and only took a 5 minute wash to make it appear new

    Some suggestions from others

Made a ghetto fan speed reducer when I was younger. However I switched around the wrong cables around. Which ended up burning half the rubber insulation off the cables on my noname PSU. Not sure, but that might have been the reason why I bought my first proper PSU, the Corsair HX620. Which is still running in my sisters PC today. :)

No Linus, it's not normal to have your GPU block destroyed after just 2,5 years. Just like it wasn't normal with your previous block, even if it wasn't as destroyed.
If you stopped using tab water and stopped spitting into your loop, then your blocks would be fine.
You're a terrible advocate for watercooling.

So I hope I'm not the only on who have had a costumer* reffer to the monitor as "The computer" and the actual computer for "the hard drive"

*By "a costumer" I mean it was on a daily basis. I worked at a hospital with around 15.000 users in total.

Start with Cisco CCNA. Read the books, take the cert. Use CBT Nuggets or INE in addition to the books if needed. Even if you don't end up working with Cisco equipment. The learning material and certifications is much higher quality, and often more desired compared with certs from other vendors.

Learning Python will also be a huge plus, and needed if Cisco Devnet sounds interresting to you.

Windows 7 EOL with extended support ending on January 14, 2020. You can get Extended Security Updates (ESU) through 2023, but you have to pay for that per device per year with an increase in cost each year after the next. This is for corporations that have a lot of legacy in-house development that still needs time to migrate off of and onto Windows 10.

If a game developer wants to code for an older OS, that's on them. But for everyone else, you should either migrate to Windows 10, or use Linux.

Also worth noting, Microsoft gave everyone a free year to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10. So none have any excuses at this point. You willfully missed it, move on!

There's free DNS services like Cloudflare, but you would still need a domain name. Payed ones doesn't cost a lot, otherwise there's free alternatives like .tk

But you don't actually need all that, if you're just want to set it up and try to get it working. You can just use a local domain with a local DNS server and set up your Exchange server with that. Now obviously it wont work outside your network. But you would be able set it up, and get it working with PC / mail clients on your local network.

Denned got a reaction from Kilrah in Few Questions about 4G Wireless Broadband
Depending on the ISP, the 4g network is probably just heavily NAT'ed in your country. Meaning the websites see a lot of traffic from the same IP.
So to prevent spam / DDOS attacks etc. they up the countermeasures. And some may even just block out the IP, which is why you get the "Forbidden" message.
When you restart your router, is pulls a new IP, and then you can access the site again.

It shouldn't mean anything security wise. People who use VPN services might have encountered the same when going to Google.

Denned got a reaction from ricardodacp in Upgrade Thinkpad E495 wifi+BT card
Intel 9260 is an AC card and AX200 as the name suggests is an AX / WIFI6 card.
The AX200 only costs slightly more, so I don't see any reason not to go for that since it's newer and better.
HOWEVER I've just upgraded my desktop machines with AX200's and I noticed that alot of the listings on Ebay mentioned the cards not working in Lenovo Thinkpad laptops.
    Like in this listing: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WiFi-6-AX200-AX200NGW-Wireless-802-11ax-2-4Gbps-WiFi-Bluetooth-5-0-Wireless-Card/392290846941?hash=item5b565b48dd:g:HI0AAOSwp0ZebHNq
However I also know that some people have bought the card from that listing and they've worked without problems in their T and X series Thinkpads.
So if you want the AX card you probably need to Google around to see if anyone have tried it, or buy the AC card if you just want it to work.

It's basically like the game Mastermind. Like it says, you got the right amount of one color. Meaning you need to guess which one is correct, and then alter the amount of the other colors.
I think you could just test a single color and then find the result that way.

I used it with a 2080, and that worked as intended as far as I could tell.
AFAIK, IF the monitor works. I believe the range that it works with, should be the same on both AMD and Nvidia. And generally on Freesync the range is going to be smaller than a proper gsync monitor. Like your last quote mentions, all LG monitors you list. They should all work within 40-60hz, which isn't alot. But that range is going to be the same on both AMD and Nvidia.

They should all work. I had the 27UL500 and it worked.
If they're listed under g-sync compatible, it's because NVIDIA tested that specific monitor. They can't test every single monitor, so when it isn't on that list, it doesn't necessarily mean they wont work.
It's still officially supported, they just wont promish anything.
