Here is a suggestion for the UN or other large multi-nation government organization:

Develop a, open source block chain + anonize voting system. If we created something like what is discussed in this paper, we could have 100% transparent, secure and private voting straight from our phones, with results being extremely quick to calculate.

Our current voting systems suck ass, and a system like that would dramatically increase voter participation, as well as potentially reduce fraud, delays, etc. Imagine just having to open an app and click a button to vote, and each vote could actually be verified that they belong to an eligible voter.

between work and school I don't even begin to have the time to read that, can you toss me some bullet points?

@Jtalk4456 there is a lot of crypto involved, but the basics of it is that we could use block chains to make the votes public and unchangeable. Once you make a vote it gets recorded publicly and anyone and everyone can verify it.

The "anonize" paper I linked is a concept based on "zero knowledge proof" to create surveys. It's a method for making sure each participant can only vote once, without needing to (or even being able to) know what they voted for.

Here is a 1 minute video explaining it (extremely briefly) and how it's planned to be used in the Brave browser.

The big danger is malware running on the phones and changing your vote, but I am not sure how big of a threat that is compared to the current threats.

@LAwLz interesting. As for malware, I think malware on phones is far less as issue than on pcs, but having said that, there's no reason to say it won't get bigger if voting is done on phones.
