Just a heads up, the Spectre protection flag in Visual Studio will only provide a very weak and narrow protection against Spectre.

    i think the hardware level solution will be buying a non affected CPU...

    @Jtalk4456 Any CPU that uses speculative execution is potentially vulnerable.

    That includes AMD as well.  Although AMD's architecture makes it immune to the meltdown part of the exploit, Specter v1 and v2 is still possible to execute on an AMD machine.

    @Cinnabar Sonar Yes but in coming CPU's they are going to figure out a way to get rid of the vulnerability. Not sure if this years CPU's but at least by next year. They have to fix it otherwise people will be very pissy at both companies
