CPU (6700K), Motherboard (GA-X99P-SLI) and graphics card (MSI 1060 Gaming) are now on their way!
Hopefully all components will work this time...

I think you got the wrong mobo @LAwLz.
@AlexTheRose dude, just let her pick out the parts. I believe she's got it all sorted out after the CPU/mobo combo is taken care of.

Oops.
I meant the 6800K. I blame Intel's naming scheme for my mix-up
Alex I went for the 1060 because the pricing on the 480 sucks here in Sweden. The cheapest one in stock cost 3000 SEK (reference cooler as well). This 1060 costs 3300.
So with the 1060 I am getting slightly better price:performance (the 1060 is about 13% faster than the 480 on average) but also it is much quieter, generates less heat, has better power efficiency, and better software support (CUDA and NVENC).
The 1060 seems like the better option to me. I was considering the 480 though.

Pricing of the RX 480 and the GTX 1060 seem to vary quite a lot depending on country. Here in Sweden the RX 480 is a lot more expensive than it should be, and the GTX 1060 is very reasonably priced compared to the US (I could have gotten a Zotac or Palit 1060 for 2800 SEK, but I wanted the better cooler).
So right now you can get a 1060 for less than the 480 here in Sweden.
Something to note is that there are no 4GB models of the 480 in Sweden, at all. Things might change once that comes out, but I don't feel like waiting.

@LAwLz Yeah. That's why I also chose Nvidia over AMD. Where I live, electricity isn't cheap on a per-month basis, and I also get better software compatibility with the 3D applications I use (3ds Max in particular).
Though I will soon upgrade my GTX 960 4GB to the Nvidia TITAN X GPU, not just for the lawlz factor, but also for incredibly fast GPU rendering in Nvidia Iray.
Though for pricing, that goes to all of today's GPUs. They're outrageous with very short supplies on top of that .

@AlexTheRose Hey I am also on a laptop in the meantime. Had to return the Rampage V Edition 10 over to the dicks called OneDealOutlet (AKA BTE Computers) after they made me cough up almost $40 to ship it back to them because the SupremeFX Hi-Fi was defective. I will still get the motherboard, just from Amazon.com instead with Prime shipping.
What surprised me though about that motherboard, that thing's $599.99 and it's out of stock. The one I'm going for says "Usually ships between 2 to 5 weeks". So I hope to get it before August 23 for my Fall semester in college so I can do 3D animation and modeling on it and not on my infernal, 4-year old Asus ROG G75VW laptop.

Yeah. I hope to get it up and running ASAP
On the subject of my usage model in 3ds Max and Maya, I use 3ds Max for some modeling and for all of my renderings (mostly in Iray, which is GPU-accelerated), while Maya is for most of the modeling. I can easily export any projects between platforms rather easily, making it pretty slick IMO.
That's why I am going for the TITAN X, and also why I chose the 5930K processor in the first place.

@h264 I meant to write 6800K.

Yes I was debating whether or not I should go with the 6700K or the 6800K. I do lots of things that can benefit from having more than 4 cores though so I thought, why the hell not? In the end, it didn't affect the cost all that much either. It was like 20% more expensive than a Z170 system, and it should perform about 20% better in many situations (at stock, and it will pull away even more when overclocked).
