  1. Video Editing, considering for an ideal timeline, every clip/effect/asset is loaded into RAM at once
  2. Honestly people complain about how bad consoles are, but if the best you can get is $250-$300 that is only really enough to buy an equivalent graphics card and have a bit left over, you can still play current AAA games with your PS4, and you would get to play LOU2 when it comes out, I would just save your money on the side and once you can get PC upgrades that will grant you a significantly better experience, go for it.
  3. They look really good and neutral, and are the same price as the Shure ones in Canada, however, I'm wondering if having a non-removable cable could screw me in the future?
  4. For the past 2 years I have been using Apple EarPods for all my mobile listening and to sleep in, going through a pair every 3-4 months, I am finally fed up with paying $35 all the time and want a good pair of headphones that will last, I am thinking $100-$150 CAD is a good price range, right now I am really looking at the Shure se215 (https://www.amazon.ca/Shure-SE215-K-Sound-Monitor-Black/dp/B004PNZFZ8/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1520999910&sr=1-2&keywords=shure+se215&dpID=311N0kFs2UL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch) because of the removable cable as well as the good sound and noise isolation. Preferably I want a neutral sound as I want to do video editing with them. I'm thinking I should get them now as I am going on a trip soon and want a good pair of earbuds to take with me that will fit in my pocket everywhere I go. My biggest priority is durability as I will be sleeping in them every night, as I listen to music, especially if I am paying this much for them, I want them to last me 2+ years.
  5. I mean no, its from 2011, but that doesn't mean that you should throw them away if you have them, or upgrade, if it meets your needs and expectation then who cares, we can't all have 1080 Tis in SLI.
  6. I find your typo in the title humorous, also unless you go Ryzen RAM speed really doesn't matter a lot, especially if the price difference is big.
  7. iPhone 9/11 (shit just realized what that could mean, please don't name it this Apple). iPhones have always ended up to be the fastest phones, and I don't think it will stop here, as for the near future, of course, it will go to Samsung. As for features, as usual, I think Apple with have something up their sleeve, but as usual, there is not much we can do except sit and wait for rumors.
  8. You can't overclock the CPU in any way because of the motherboard, BIOS, and chip itself. However, you can most certainly overclock the GPU if you are running WINDOWS 1ith MSI Afterburner. I have done so on the 2012 iMac with a GTX680MX and it works well, with decent temps (70-80C) and because I don't game a lot it is fine, but overclocking is risky territory with the limited cooling.
  9. If you plan on 1080p and want to keep the card for a while I recommend the 4GB 1050 Ti so that you don't have to worry about texture details in the future. Otherwise the 1050 is a great choice granting about 10-20fps less than the 1050 ti at 1080p high-very high
  10. DO NOT get the 730 unless you only want a display adapter to plug in more monitors. The GT 1030 is almost equivalent to the 750 Ti, with the 750 Ti slightly out-preofrming it. See this video: Whichever is cheaper is the one to get and they are both fine for lighter 1080p medium-high gaming. If you were willing to put in a little more I would HIGHLY recommend a GTX 1050 as it gets about 20-35fps more than the 1030 or 750 Ti EDIT: DO NOT get the 730, wait and save if you have to, it really is an inadequate card for anything except display adapting today.
  11. First thought in my mind GTX 580 lol
  12. I mean I would, but I'm not sure I could find a light stand for a 55lbs light. Guess I'll have to stick to the 500 LED & 1000 LED...
  13. So B&H are having some really good sales right now on Dracast LED lights, I'm wondering if it is worth getting a 1000 LED light (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1219694-REG/dracast_drsp_1000b_led1000_series_bi_color_led.html) and a 500 LED light (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1258215-REG/dracast_drsp_500bn_led500_silver_bi_color_panel.htm) over another Rokinon cinema lens. I currently have a T3i with a 16mm T2.2 cine lens. I am saving up for a Sony Mirrorless camera, but saw these deals and realised that I have no proper lighting. Right now I have Ikea LED arm lights and 2 Neewer 160 LED lights, not great. Even if I buy these I will still have money for a Sony Mirrorless Camera (I'm looking at A6500 or its successor when it comes out). As for what I shoot, the occasional short film, mostly product B-roll. I really can't find any good info on if lights are worth it. All help is appreciated.
  14. I assume you have fully made sure you're not using the CPU graphics.
  15. just get a GT 1030, 1050 is overkill and used would require older drivers and possibly extra power, noise, and hassle. A fanless GT 1030 would be a perfect choice, if you go with something old expect to need to wire power to it and tune fan curves, as well as take up more room.
