  1. I will do that thanks! I live alone, in a home I own, with a good job. Dont really need to worry about money.
  2. Hey all, I have a brand new computer I built just a couple days ago. Here are the specs for reference: Intel i9-12900k Asus ROG Strix z690 Gaming wifi G Skill trident z5 series (2x16gb 6600Mhz) - XMP I is enabled 1x 1TB Samsung 980 pro NVME (C drive) 2x 2TB Samsung 980 pro NVME (A & B drive) EVGA RTX 3090ti FTW3 seasonic 1300 80 plus platinum PSU ---Nothing is overclocked other than having XMP I profile enabled I have windows 11 installed, and my computer will randomly freeze up, BSOD and then restart and be fine. This happens rather consistently - already twice since I got home from work 2 hours ago. The error that keeps popping is the DPC Dogwatch violation. From what I understand this can has to do with the memory, but I am unsure of how to address this issue. Is there something I need to consider, check, install, etc that I do not know about?
  3. So I was playing DCS (digital combat simulator) and my game crashed. The program closed [sort of] and I just had a completely black screen with no kind of input control. So I pressed the restart button and the BIOS option popped up, and I let it run - expecting a normal boot - NOPE! I got a red box that says “invalid signature detected. Check secure boot policy in setup.” I’ve never even heard of this screen before and my computer has been running normal in the 5 years since I’ve built it. The only thing I’ve done to it is add a NVME M.2 drive about a month or so ago but it’s run and booted properly since. My computer is my life blood, between work and play so I’m really hoping it’s an easyish fix
  4. Hey all, i restarted my computer yesterday and now I cannot get past the BIOS screen. All my drives are present and I have my boot order set to the proper devices. I have even tried boot override on my OS drive and I cannot get anything. When I click on it, it goes black for a couple seconds as if it is trying to boot, but then it just brings me right back to the BIOS screen where I had selected boot override. Any ideas? -Jace
  5. Hey everyone, So I have a Samsung 850 pro 256gb SSD that died last week. I've tried everything I know to get it back online but unfortunately she is dead to the world. I have already RMA'd it back to Samsung. In the meantime I just bought a WD blue SSD 250GB drive to replace it because I need my computer over the next 2 weeks for finals in school. However my dead hard drive had my OS on it, do I need to get another copy of windows or is there anyway I can re-download windows from a USB drive and use my old product key? Or how will that work? To be honest I am not sure if I will be able to find my old key as I switched cases not too long ago and my old case had my sticker on it when I tossed it in the trash so my only hope is that I can find the original OS CD and key. Can someone tell me for sure if I will need a new key? Or can I call microsoft for a replacement key? Thanks, Jared
  6. Hey all, my OS drive SSD which is a samsung 850 256gb drive is no longer recognized or viewable when starting my computer. I shut it down about a week ago because I had to go out of town, it was working just fine at the time, and has been since I built it. I tried to start it up today when I got home and I went to the BIOS after it did not boot correctly and lo and behold the drive cannot even be found in the boot drives. I've tried restarting multiple times, I have attempted to turn off the power to the computer and then do a cold restart. I have tried changing the SATA cable and SATA port that it was plugged into and no luck so far. Any ideas folks?
  7. Hey all I just moved into a new apartment in college and plugged in my new Netgear c3700 wifi cable modem router. I have the coaxial plugged in, power, and Ethernet from the modem router to my computer but I get zero connection. Both the upstream and downstream lights blink continuously, the only I can connect to (sometimes) is the given ISP linking me towards Netgear Genie. As far as I remember these things are suppose to be nearly just plug and play. I can't figure out what to do at this point. In netgear genie it says internet "in profess" and is red. I've gone into administration and shut off router mode, turned it back on. No alas I still have no internet connection. Does anyone have any ideas?
  8. is it possible that your TV is 1080i and not 1080p, in which case it would be slightly easier to run
  9. Here's my two cents. You have more than enough GPU power to push 1440p @ 60Hz on max. Which means that you could easily push 1080p @ 144Hz. I personally would go with the 1440p @ 60Hz since you're not doing any serious FPS games.
  10. get the sennheiser hd6XX from massdrop man.
  11. Hey just wanna let everyone know that I ended up purchasing the dell u3415w. Seems like that one received some high praises from you guys and other reviewers. Thanks everyone for your input! Now I need to find a 4k panel haha
  12. Hey everyone, Well this college kid has somehow managed to scrape together enough cash to purchase a new monitor. I am buying an ultrawide (no if, ands, or buts about it. I will accept nothing less than 3440x1440). My budget is about $900 the following monitors have made my finals. Stands do not matter to me as I will be VESA mounting it. 1. Dell u3415W 2. Lg 34uc88-b 3. Lg 34um88c-p 4. Lg u3417w I have heard the following on these monitors after reading some reviews. Monitor 1: Its a great monitor with a lower amount of back light bleed. The curve is not over done. Has an overcloackable refresh rate of 75Hz (definite plus). Monitor 2: Fantastic monitor with great color reproduction. Slightly more backlight bleed than that of the previous dell monitor. Essentially the greatness of the uc98 without thunderbolt. Monitor 3: Essentially the exact same monitor as the uc88-b just with no curve (can someone tell me whether the curve is worth an extra $200+?) Monitor 4: Basically the same as Monitor 1 with slightly different stand (again stands dont matter) and more I/O. However they both have the same panel. Just a quick rundown of those 4 monitors. Any more suggestions or opinions on those mentioned? Thanks everyone! JarJar
  13. Hello everyone, I seem to remember a while back someone posting a link to a site that had pre-made open air wall mounts. Something that a lot of people custom make themselves; does anyone know of such a site/brand/company that does this? Thanks, Jar
  14. you definitely need to get a quad-core processor. If you need to keep your budget in check try going with an AMD processor like the FX-8350 (which is actually an 8-core but you can get it for $160 on Newegg) which is still cheaper than your i3. Plus you will probably save a little bit on the motherboard as well. Which means you can get yourself a better CPU cooler to keep the AMD heat under check.
