Forgot to mention that i'm also building a PC for a friend, which agreed to "buy" my GPU for that price, as they go for this price in my country.

Even if its a free one?

Hello everyone, i currently have a Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 Gaming(paid 200eur for it - used). I am currently working on a build for a friend, and have a chance to get a KFA2 GTX 1070 Ti EX for basically the same price(200eur). Do these cards perform well? Is the upgrade a good choice for a system with my specs? Will the PSU be fine with this GPU(under load - currently - it makes a slight buzzing sound)? Also, how compatible is the CPU with this GPU - shouldn't be bottlenecked? The 'more challenging' games that i play, are GTA V and Fortnite - getting FPS drops on both(not on max settings). Specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 Gaming 8G MOBO: MSI B450 Gaming Plus RAM: 16GB DDR4 3000MHz(Vengeance LPX) SSD1: M.2 NVMe 256gb Silicon Power SSD2: HyperX Savage 240GB PSU: Corsair CX650M Case: NZXT S340 Thanks for all the replies, also greetings from Slovenia!

Yeah sounds about right but i already got 1 stick of vengeance lpx 3000mhz.. i bought it because i thought it was fairly cheap and i just wanted to get at least 1 new part so i actually commit to buying the whole thing, because i am saying i will buy a new pc for over 6 months and never had the money. This was the lowest cost part but still something to get me started and get my motivation up

Hello, I am planning to upgrade my rig, and yes, i have checked a lot of forums to see what was my best option but i am still unsure. I am currently deciding between: MSI B450 Tomahawk 99€ MSI B450 Gaming Plus 91,9€ Asus Prime B450 Plus 89,5€ I have read that the Tomahawk is the best of all but i want to make sure it will all fit and is it maybe even overkill. Current setup: i5 2400 MSI H61M-P31/W8 2x4GB DDR3 Ballistix 1866 MHz Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 1060 3GB 2x SSD NZXT S340 Case Planned setup: Ryzen 5 2600 <Insert motherboard here> 1x8GB DDR4 Vengeance 3000 MHz Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 1060 3GB 2x SSD NZXT S340 Case I know Ryzen benefits from dual channel and i plan to add another stick in the future(yes i know im dumb, why didnt i get 2x4 and later another 2x4). Will i be bottlenecked by anything or is it fairly balanced? Thanks for any pointers :)

i was more worried about the 20's but yeah.. i got this one because the price dropped so much. i got it for 35€ + shipping off of amazon..

Yeah but the module is also not on the board's QVM.. does that matter? I've read it usually still works if its ~same frequency but the just dont test everything. Also that then means if i will be adding another stick, it should have the same timings?
-
Hello, The module i am talking about: Vengeance LPX (1x8GB) CMK8GX4M1D3000C16 3000MHz, 16-20-20-38 (Planned to run Single channel for a while) Will it run with a Ryzen 5 2600 and ASUS PRIME B450 PLUS? I have done quite a lot of reading on these things and i am still not sure if i bought "normal RAM". I am just weirded out by the timings, that are 16-20-20-38. In all of my researching and reading, i've never spotted any of the RAM's timings be 20 or higher. Is this just me being paranoid or do i have to return it? Thanks for literally any answer/consolation.

Well, if you do remember, please let me know.. Still struggling at low speeds.

Update: Swapping SATA to AHCI mode did not help. Still crying in 1mb/s.
-
Could it be that the SATA is on IDE mode and not AHCI mode?
-
Send help.. Anyone

Okay, just resetting the CMOS did not help. Swapping back to stable(v3.6) BIOS and then clearing again also did not help. I have also tried disabling "Legacy support" as i've read it might affect the performance, but did not help as well. About the Linux: can i create a VM in VirtualBox? Or would it be necessary to do a dual-boot/on the other ssd?
