OpticZero's Achievements

  1. Thought there wasn't one but I just overlooked it. There's a 3200 16GB kit for 130. Two of those should do the trick.
  2. Well it's not that I really want to OC (well at least not immediately) but with an unlocked chip and a beefy cooler why not. Also like I said not by much, I don't need a space heater running at 5+ Ghz and 1.4 volts all the time. EDIT: Oops, accidentally deleted this part: I want an AIO, I really don't like a giant ugly hunk of metal hanging from my motherboard no matter how good it is at cooling. And like I said I'm not really going for price/performance. There's a 3600 kit but it's 363 € vs. 241 for the 3000 and that seems way too big of a price difference.
  3. So, I decided to finally finish upgrading my PC was waiting for Intel's 10nm but gave up due to all the delays. I already changed the GPU, case and monitor while the PSU, storage and peripherals are still ok. So that leaves the CPU, motherboard and RAM combo. Right now I am looking at the 9900K, Asus Maximus XI Hero and 32 gigs of G.Skill Trident Z RGB 3000Mhz. I also want Asus Aura compatible components since my GPU and case support it and I really don't want to deal with RGBSync+ or anything like that if I don't have to. My main monitor is an Asus PG279Q 1440p 144Hz G-Sync and I will mostly be gaming with some occasional content creation (mostly Photoshop, some video editing). Anyway, a couple of questions: 1. I will of course wait and see how Ryzen 3000 turns out, but if I do end up going with the 9900K, can the Hero handle it and if not can the Code or the Formula (the Strix line is even worse I imagine)? I read that Asus skimped on the VRM this generation. I am planning on overclocking altough not anything extreme. If I end up going with Ryzen, are Asus' Crosshair boards any good? 2. I will also probably change the CPU cooler. Right now I'm running a first gen H100i which isn't detected by Corsair's software anymore so I can't change the profile which is driving me mad. I was looking at the H100i Pro or the H150i Pro, but like I said if possible I'd like something that supports Aura Sync. Maybe Enermax Liqfusion 360? 3. As for the RAM, same as the cooler, I want something Aura Sync compatible. If I go Ryzen, what kind of clock should I be looking at (I heard Ryzen benefits from higher clocked memory)? Also the G.Skill kit I'm looking at is C16, is 25€ more for the C15 version worth it? Suggestions for any other brands/models welcome. My current specs are: CPU: Intel Core i7 4770K Cooler: Corsair H100i MOBO: Asus Maximus VI Formula RAM: Corsair Vengeance PRO Red 16GB (2x8) GPU: Asus GeForce RTX 2080 Strix OC Case: Phanteks Enthoo Evolv X SSD: Samsung 840 Evo 250GB HDD: WD Black 2TB PSU: Corsair AX860i Monitor: Asus ROG Swift PG279Q Monitor 2: shitty 1080p AOC I also have a brand new M.2 Samsung 970 Evo 500GB that my dumb ass bought before realizing that my motherboard only supports 2242 drives and not 2280. Also, how much should I expect to sell my current components for? I am from Slovenia, prices here are about +10% of Austria or Germany if that helps. Bit of a long post but oh well. Thanks in advance
  4. Nice! Anything would be good:) maybe shadow warrior
  5. My favorite thing is the resolution. That coupled wtih the specs that can handle 1440p means this is a damn nice phone. Also would be a nice upgrade from my S3
