  2. For your own sake I hope you read this line: (1) go back and watch some of your videos (2) write down everything you say (3) Think about how you could say it better, more concisely, thoughfully, etc... (4) Improve future videos with better content (5) Thank me later As for unboxings: some people here are reminiscing about your past unboxings, but they're forgetting about the quality discrepancy between your unboxings and those does by UnboxTherapy (it's okay, he's just better). "LESS CONTENT,... MORE QUALITY and MORE FOCUS" is a good start, but don't totally abandon the unboxing component of a review, simply work it into the first 20 seconds of a review video as you explain the product and your initial expectations/impressions. The 'laid back' nature of everything you do limits your audience. Keep the chill content with the WAN show (and some gaming things like a game or gaming keyboard review) if you must, but clean the rest up. BTW I'm not saying you should go straight boring like PCPer or Anandtech.
  3. Do you know much more: Cost? Expected release date? Alternatives (will the GTX 780 drop in price?) Edit: Cost appears to be around $700...hmmmm I think I'll wait until specs come out (and until I can confirm my case will fit it).
  4. Which GPU (or dual GPU) configuration I should get..? Assuming the 4670k will temporarily run my monitor (1440p + 1080p?) and since I don't need it right away, should I wait for GPU prices to lower for the holiday season? Also, anyone know what kind of mPCIe Combo II options are available or worth getting for the ROG Gene VI motherboard? My needs: (1) currently running a 1440p monitor; maybe want to game in 4K in the future (2) 660W PSU and I want to put it to good use (3) don't want to spend over $700 on the GPU (3) Not sure on max GPU card length yet (case specs are 12.8" deep) Here's my current spec list (most components, except case, should arrive tomorrow) Case: Lian Li PC-C50b mATX HTPC Case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112303 PSU: Seasonic SS-660XP MOBO: Asus ROG Gene VI mATX CPU: Intel i5-4670k CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-L12 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007C861WO/ref=oh_details_o00_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 GPU: ??? RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 2 x 8GB 1600Mhz SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 500GB Storage: 2 x 3TB Seagate Barracuda HDDs Feedback and constructive criticism is greatly appreciated!
  5. Right now. Have SolarCity install some panels on your roof to charge your supercharger. Widespread availability is literally 15-20 years away, which is great because by then I should have my student loan debts payed off.
  6. Nice, keep up the great work Linus, and Intel!
  7. YouTube recently changed the original subscription view (where you can see all new videos from your subscribed channels) to a smart feed that only displays certain videos it thinks you want to watch. It's stupid and you can add to the revolt here: http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/youtube/a2IGsjFx2tY or retweet this dude: "https://twitter.com/sevinPackage/statuses/368131305935872000"
  8. I'd go, but Elon Musk and SpaceX/NASA missions would have to accomplish a few things beforehand: - Speed up the trip with new rocket technology (it would take about 2 years to travel to Mars with our current rocket technology - no thanks, I'd only travel for 2 years if I had a gymnasium to play in) - Solve the radiation problem (current plan is to use thick sphere of water (very heavy and inefficient although we will need water for the trip anyways) - Excavate/construct my new, underground Mars home. They'll need to send millions of tons of machinery and many engineers/actual astronauts to make the early colony self-sustaining. Completely terraforming (or starting the process) Mars before we go would be a plus, but by then we'll all be dead. - Potential health problems: disorientation/space sickness?, worsening eyesight due to increase BP in the head, decreased bone/muscle mass, radiation - The main bad thing is that there is no internet in deep space. Also no beautiful earth to explore...just barren red rock. No way to just go outside and roam around. No children. Everything would be a chore and not many thing's would be all that rewarding until Mars is terraformed. I'm sure NASA and SpaceX are considering the psychological challenges of such an endeavor...it's impossible with our current technology. And I doubt we'll come close to Elon Musk's 2025 manned Mars mission hopeful prediction. More like 2040, and that's assuming Elon, SpaceX, and Tesla are still around by then. So maybe our children would go, but not us.
  9. This is solely aimed at the VR/Google Glass markets and such technology is being pursued by Samsung and LG. So far it is a niche market so give credit to Sony for doing something to advance one of the main hardware challenges in such a device (the others being battery energy density and CPU/GPU efficiency).
  10. Black + Black, or dark grey. Maybe a hint of some other color such as black mobo with colored RAM/PCI connections.
  11. Oh, and by 'dumb' you mean virtually every monitor or non-overpriced TV on the market. No, I won't pay for an overpriced 'smart TV.' I'd much rather pay for this for on my current setups.
  12. I bought the Chromecast. In reply to Toshy: you are not thinking. With this device I can fling videos to any [larger] display in my home from any mobile device I own. It's awesome and very useful for sharing content.
  13. Don't count on it. Sharp charges $4800 for this monitor. Asus charges $3500 for the same panel, different enclosure. Dell will likely charge $3000+. We will have to wait for the 3rd generation of 4K monitors for widespread use (2015).
  14. Have you considered the cost? What about the constant UV rays breaking down the barrier? Or the heat resistance? Or the adhesion to roof shingles? Or the fact that leaky roofs are easily prevented with proper maintenance? Just sayin I actually haven't found a truly great use for this type of waterproof spray. It doesn't seem to hold up very well on outdoor clothing.
