Do people not realize the people buying 1440p are like us? the 1% of technology users that understand what's actually going on, not the 90+ % of average users.
 
90% of average users probably don't even know what 1440p is, or understand what resolution is for that matter. These are the type of people that see big numbers and think it's better just because it's bigger. They barely do any research outside of going to the TV or PC store and looking at monitors and picking one that looks nice & is big.

Holy hell the ignorance is outstanding in this thread. Not even willing to reconsider your opinions for one second even though you have no clue at all about these headphones. Way to fucking go guys.

If you're a beginner you really don't need anything more than a Blue Snowball. That is a quality mic at a good price and it makes no sense to invest any more for a little better quality when you don't even know if you can make back your investment. Also a ton of streamers just use headsets so it's not like it matters all that much anyway. 

Headfi still has a place simply because there is a crapload of people on there. If you want to try out a ton of setups and headphones where do you go? Headfi meets. If you actually want to meet anybody who's into higher end audio, how do you do that? Headfi meets. You want to see info on headphones that are coming out or just came out, where do you go? Headfi. You want to buy expensive headphones secondhand for cheap: headfi marketplace. Just need a good filter to know when you're being BSed and when stuff is the real deal.
 
I still believe the O2/Odac combo is enough for the vast majority of setups, barring the K1000s, electrostats (technological incompatibility), possibly HE-6 (but probably is ok). What are you expecting to improve upon by spending more? Getting tubes to color the sound? Then you can't call it "high-fidelity" now, can you? If a person feels that coloring the sound makes it sound better to them and they're willing to spend tons for it instead of using EQ, whatever. But when you recommend these types of solutions you damned well better list the caveats. But that's just the amp side of things, what about dacs? I'm skeptical that people can tell the difference from a cheap-ass Odac compared to something like the Benchmark Dac. I'm not going to automatically buy the "it's more expensive, therefore it's probably slightly better" idea. Either you can hear a difference and you can prove it in a test or you cannot. And I'd wager that you cannot. I know I cannot. I't's important that we don't lose perspective here, even with higher end headphones, we're paying more and more for less and less "improvement", and improvement in quotes because whether something is an improvement is still up for questioning - just "difference". And nobody is immune to expectation bias and placebo, even us, who rail on over and over and criticize people on Headfi for their placebo cable and amp stuff. That includes me. And you. I think people have a tendency to acknowledge placebo and expectation bias, but somehow subconsciously feel that only other people are susceptible to it, somehow we are not.
 
Despite Headfi being a useful resource, it can more often be a misleading resource to people who don't know anything and hope Headfi has all the answers for them. Headfi has lots of different people, some who are actually like Hydrogenaudio members but want higher end headphones. But the majority of them (50%+) are people who swear by differences between amps, dacs, headphones, cables, even headphone serial numbers, burn in, etc etc. Yes, a large forum can be, for the most part, sharing a common delusion, especially when the admins have an incentive to perpetuate this (whether consciously and maliciously, or subconsciously). There are billions of people on earth and hundreds of millions in many different religions - just think about how many people must be deluded if there can only be one truth. Compared that to a delusion Headfi for the most part shares, and our claims against Headfi doesn't seem so crazy after all.
 
  Don't just assume that none of us here have tried out these gear simply because we talk against it. I've tried that amp myself and many, many other amps, some of which cost over 5000 dollars. Both my friends and I who tried them out all agreed that people are letting the price tag dictate how the amp or dac should sound, not the other way around. It even happens in headphones, too, to a lesser degree, but it's all there.

Live studio sessions are always the best. The way each individual microphone picks everything up, and the way the musicians respond to what each other is doing, adds an interesting vibe you don't get with most music now a days. Probably one of the many reasons why the Beatles are still so popular.
 
Edit: Since seeing Fantasia 2000 as a kid, Rhapsody in Blue has always grabbed my attention.

I'm guessing you listened to his older stuff, his newest album is actually completely original. He sampled from recordings written by himself in collaboration with other artists, and for some reason I prefer these recordings to the the songs they were made into.

Alright.. So I've gotten some experience...
Right now I'm writing this post as the festival is underway - I've gotten some internet and thought I'd take advantage of it before the Rolling Stones take stage before Thursday! (can't wait)
Anyways..
So We've broken atleast one of the two speakers.. Well.. I went to my bed early last night and my camp threw the thing at a 100% the whole time and woke up to a bit of claping from the speakers...
Not too bad, could be worse!
So from my new experience I know that the units needs to be more capeable than the amp.. Well, atleast little bit!
My questions consist of the following for next years Roskilde Festival:
What kind of limbo nation should I go with to go comfortable over 100db's at 1-2 meters?
At this point money ain't a factor - I just want to know what I need to know!
As a last point a I'm pretty satisfied as how my current setup plays (until it gets too warm under passive cooling) - so far thank you for all of the help I've gotten!
