  1. Got voted for 4th place in the Dan Case hall of fame competition build is featured on his site now. https://www.dan-cases.com/dana4_hof.html
  2. For anyone that enjoyed this build, I've made it into the top builds for the Dan-Case Hall of Fame Competition and I'd appreciate any votes you can give me. The link for the Hall of Fame details and the voting (located at the bottom of the page) is located here: https://www.dan-cases.com/dana4_hof.html Thanks!
  3. Been troubleshooting for a while with no solution so I figured I'd ask to see if there's something I'm missing. My brother's desktop has 16GB of RAM but only 8GB is showing in the BIOS, Task Manager and System Properties. However if I look at each DIMM slot in the BIOS it shows that each slot is populated and CPUZ shows that all slots are populated and there is 16GB running in dual channel. His PC used to display 16GB in the BIOS but recently has only been showing 8GB. The BIOS has been updated to the latest release. He has an MSI Z77A-G41 motherboard and 4x4GB sticks of Corsair 1600MHz RAM. They are two different kits of sticks but since they worked before I don't think that should be an issue. Things I've tried so far are: Reseating the RAM, including various configurations of sticks so I'm sure the sticks are working. Cleaning out the DIMM slots. Resetting CMOS via jumper on motherboard. Making sure there is no memory cap in msconfig. Running x64bit Windows 10 Pro. Attempting to link, delink, and set to auto the DRAM timings, voltage, etc. Attempting to run with and without XMP Attempting to run a lower speed than the stock 1333MHz I think the last thing to check is reseating the CPU? Any thoughts on something I could be missing?
  4. Nice rig. I started with the M1 and then went to the A4v1 last year. Both great choices.
  5. I have a 4790k and have my cpu set to use 6 threads so it's not completely at 100% when set to full. I leave my gpu at -1. Every once in a while it takes a while for my gpu to start folding, not sure why. As for points they update at certain times, so they don't show up instantly on your account.
  6. You can use both, or either. You can also choose how many cores/threads to use. I don't know anything about running it with dual cpu though. Perhaps someone else here has experience with that.
  7. Realized I never uploaded the final pics. Here are a few I took this past spring. I've sinced moved places and the tubing runs are a little more elegant (hidden behind my desk). There are a few minor things I've been meaning to finish like some fitting changes and painting the PCIe extender. Plus upgrading the SSD capacites. Anyways, hope you enjoy!
  8. What voltage are you using? Trying to get past 4.6 stable on mine.
  9. Here is my build log. I planned to go hardline in the M1 but switched to hardline in a Dan Case A4 instead.
  10. Looking great! My OCD tells me you should paint the red "PRO" on the SSD and the red power/reset button on the mobo Edit: and possibly the writing on the IO shroud.
  11. So far I've finished the 8-pin EPS and Sata power cable. Took me about 2 hours each. The Sata one was a bit challenging. He's a picture of the Sata power cable next to the stock cable to show the drastic length difference. The custom lengths really clean up the build.
  12. This looks cool, subbed. I recently used that D5 pump top/res combo in my NCase build; looks slick. However mine tended to leak a bit at the top fill port if I had it too full. Just be careful with it. I suspect silicon tape would fix it but I never got around to it.
  13. Have you got one of the cases? I'd be interested to see what you do with it. But yeah if you didn't have an SFX or SFX-L PSU in there, you could theoretically put up to a 48mm thick rad on the CPU side (48mm of space) of the case and a 25mm thick fan on the GPU compartment of the case (using a short GPU). I suppose you'd need to drill some vent/hole pattern for airflow through the mid-plate for airflow but this would be an awesome project. (i haven't measured any of this btw). DDC pump would be tricky to fit in I think.
  14. Is your pump running, I've heard that the EK D5 pumps will run very slowly if your PWM header isn't hooked up. Or is it a D5 Vario model?
  15. Thanks man. I've looked into it a little bit and depending on which PSU you are using and if you need the 2.5" drive mounts at the bottom or not, you could likely fit a 92mm or 2x92mm rad in there (with mods). I tend to like the external rad though as it offers very cool temps and low noise. Next on my list is doing custom cables to get rid of the mess in the front. Going with 18 AWG and black sleeving. Also putting my 512GB mSata drive into a 2.5" enclosure and getting rid of the 2x 128GB drives. In addition I need to do my delid and check my block mounting as my temps are a bit too high. The block has been tested to perform a few degrees better than the EK evo but at the moment it isn't performing to that standard. I think it may be my trial and error with thermal pad thickness lol Anyways thanks for the feedback.
  16. Double check that you don't have an odd number of cores set in the advanced control (ie if you are using your 4790k don't have it set to 1,3,5 or 7 cores). Setting mine to an even number of cores fixed the issue with the CPU not picking up WUs.
  17. So I've transitioned my build into the Dan Case A4-SFX. The NCase M1 was just too big for me I also took the opportunity to make the switch to hardline copper tubing and made a custom midplate. Custom cables are next on the list. Let me know what you think!
  18. Look up rockitcool. It's US based and sells the tool and CLU. Just got one myself. Mind you the exchange rate is brutal in Canada, I imagine probably the same for Aus.
  19. Maybe @B NEGATIVEshould add this info to the hardline workshop sticky for reference. Not sure if anyone else has attempted carbon fiber who could weight in on it.
  20. Inner diameter doesn't matter with hard tubing. Just make sure the fittings are for 16mm if you are using 16mm tubing. Where inner diameter matters is with soft tubing where you need to fit the tubing on barbs.
  21. Think glossy is the way to go man. I'm quite intrigued by this. Are you going to do a new build log when you move into the new case and switch to the new tubing?
