JaZoN_XD got a reaction from Zeky in Old card nvdia's SLI question..
Good luck! Not sure where you're from but where I am in Canada, you can get a 970 for about $100 to 150 CAD. I'd imagine a GTX 770 would be less.

The reason why SLI made sense for me is because I wouldn't ever hope to get this amount of performance increase by spending $250 - $300 on any single GPU (sell my current 970 and +100$). In addition, many of the games I play are DX11, I don't play that many brand new titles and I can get SLI to run in those games fairly well.

Yes you will be able to, but not sure how well they will function with different clock speeds. For Maxwell cards, they are automatically locked at same clock speeds anyways, it's probably better that way to reduce stutter etc.

However make sure you get the version with the same VRAM otherwise it will not work.

With that said, not sure how much use you'll be able to get out of them since the VRAM is quite limiting and not that many games support SLI nowadays. Unless you're looking to play some intensive DX11 titles, there are not that many DX12 titles that support SLI very well (research for your own usage case).

How much quieter is it? Also not sure if it's just me but the two top exhausts look a bit off to me... If I were you I would probably just put one fan on the rear and close the top moduvent, the airflow path seem to make more sense to me that way haha.

Awesome build dude, welcome to the forums with a huge bang i guess

Just wondering what the audio quality difference is between a Youtube song (Vevo for example) vs the song that you could find on Spotify or other services where you can buy/download the full song album? Thanks.

Grab a clevo off of one of the resellers that ship to Canada, they have 1050 ti models that sell at a good price. Get it without the shitty hdd that those come with and get the cheapest m.2 ssd that they have for your os and add in a hdd later.

Yep you were right. Sorry I took so long to update lol but right under the very top of the glass window there's a tiny hairline sorta crack of the AMOLED. So sad but oh well. At least something I can fix and replace.

Ebay is generally a great place to sell for scrapped parts, I've done so with an old laptop which had a malfunctioning keyboard and no battery (since it died).

JaZoN_XD got a reaction from hydrogalaxy in 1080 SLI vs. Titan X(P).
For raw performance, the 2 1080s would definitely be better, only a bit more expensive (relatively speaking). However, you need to remember that you're going to be dealing with more heat, more noise and also most importantly, hit or miss software utilization/optimization for your SLI config. So be aware of what games you play and how they support a SLI setup.

JaZoN_XD reacted to TopDollar in Noob here, doing a brake job. Need some help choosing the parts.
It's really just as simple as you described it. Just look up the pads by vehicle. Only thing to be mindful of is whether or not you're buying front or rear brake pads (rear calipers are smaller than the front since front brakes do the majority of the braking). If you're changing both front and rear, you'll want a set of front pads and a set of rear pads.

For a regular car, I'll usually just go into my local Advance Auto Parts/Autozone/O'Rileys (or whatever your local parts store in Ontario is) and get their brand of brake parts. That way I can easily exchange the item if I accidentally get the wrong part.

JaZoN_XD got a reaction from Marinatall_Ironside in Looking for GPU recommendation
What budget do you have? Also since it's in the Razer Core, I'd look into something Nvidia since they run a bit cooler and quieter and use a bit less power. Slightly more expensive for the same performance though. (You also get added benefit of technologies like Shadowplay and such). I would recommend a GTX 960 or even 950. Since you mentioned you are just emulating, this should be about enough. OR alternatively, you can try waiting for Polaris GPUs since they are supposedly super super power efficient and performance to watt is amazing...

There isn't a way to just buy Premiere pro unfortunately, its gone subscription with the creative cloud only. You can buy Adobe's lower end consumer focused video editing tools however but they obviously aren't the same quality of suite as the CC.

JaZoN_XD reacted to BrightCandle in Getting into Premiere, some help needed
I should also probably mention last week I went through looking at all of the tools and come to the same conclusion that I really didn't want to pay $20 a month to edit a few gaming videos a month. I tried Vegas, final cut, davinci and PowerDirector and actually ended up buying PowerDirector for about $50. PowerDirector has a 30 day trial which you can use to determine if it will work for you and I am actually pretty happy with it. Its obviously not the CC suite of stuff its not as advanced in any area but its a reasonably capable tool and its more than capable of making films. If I had one issue with what it can do is in regards to audio, its capabilities to reduce noise and such are not as advanced as I want. But as a NLE combined with Audacity and a few other tools I can get the job done for a fraction of the cost. Some people just plain need PP but I really don't, I have greater concerns with video quality than my editor my own skills are certainly the limitation not the tool.

Yea the fan is pretty loud but I where headphones so doesn't really bother me. People really give the reference cooler a hard time but I honestly can't fault it. My voltage is around 1.23 volts so you were not far off with your guess.

JaZoN_XD reacted to MEC-777 in People with GPU backplates...
Yep, those "midplates" you're referring to, they help with sag as well. It mainly has to do with the structural rigidity between the PCB and end plate. The combination of good structural design there with a midplate and/or a backplate and any other additional brackets will help a lot with sag/droop.

Depending on what you may need to do, you really don't need that i7. If you are only gaming, even an i3 will work just fine, otherwise get either a locked or unlocked i5.

I get around 150 - 200 points less for just having MSI Afterburner with its graphs and overlays on. If I turn off Speedfan which I use to control case fans I get a bit more points as well. So it seems like the score varies a lot based on the background apps.

As for the GTA V and Vsync, from what I've seen no CPU can maintain 60 fps or 16.7 ms in CPU intensive games such as GTA V, for which the graphics API is to blame. It's also impossible to compare framerate now and before because there are so many variables in terms of what's going on in the game.
