  1. I can't get it working, when I add the native resolution (and some others, just to be sure), it doesn't detect the display at all (and yes, I've restarted the pc). I'm gonna try to find out if there is anything I can do, and if not, the only option left is VGA...
  2. Hi So I recently got a Samsung 214T to play with, that I want to use at a second screen. But as this screen is fairly old, I can't get Windows 7 to pick up it's naitive resolution, only 640x480. Now, if I was using a Nvidia graphics card, it wouldn't be a problem, as their control panel has a menu, where you can customize the resolution and such. But CCC doesn't have this option, the only thing I can do, is to take the 1080p profile, and scale it down, but I need to make it larger than 1920x1080, as the screens native resolution is 1600x1200. Do anyone know a tool, driver or anything else, that would allow me to use the native resolution? The screen is connected via single link DVI btw. Thanks
  3. It's properly the most advanced and the most options customisable media player out there, so I'll call it advanced. But yes, you can just install it and you're good to go.
  4. Foobar2000 It's very advanced, but Tek syndicate made a getting started video about it: I have been using it for some time now, and I really like it. It's just sad that it doesn't exist on linux.
  5. This might help: https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=51246#p234785
  6. Seems odd, it might be the router then. Can you test port forwarding on an other device or pc?
  7. Yep, under the microphone tab, beside the volume slider, is a little button called "microphone boost".
  8. Have you tried microphone boost in the Realtek control panel?
  9. Can't really tell you what the problem is. It's some time since I last worked with ports and such. Not a networking expert, just a techy guy, that had a minecraft server...
  10. I know that Asus makes some really good routers and adapters (I have the PCE-AC68), and I know that TP-link makes some good value adapters. But I have no idea about TP-link's routers.
  11. I have never gotten any of those port testing sites working, even through the ports was open. I'm pretty sure that I read something about the system not responding on the pings that was being send to it.
  12. There aren't really many boards (especially lga1155 boards) that have dual lan and those who do are ether workstation boards or just high end boards. Most motherboards now days have more that 4 sata ports, so that shouldn't be a problem. If you want reliability, I'll recommend Asus and Gigabyte.
  13. It might be the firewall on your server. I've had that problem before.
  14. I would say an aftermarket GTX770, a 8gb 1600mhz ram kit, 600w psu, a 256gb ssd, a mechanical keyboard like the once CM have, a good laser mouse and do you know if your friend would want a monitor with a high refresh rate (tn panel) or good colour reproduction (ips panel)? I don't usually recommend keyboards and mouses, as people have different preferences.
  15. A 700w psu would be enough and you shouldn't get him a sound card. A sound card isn't really necessary for watching movies.
  16. This, and I would go with an other psu if I was you. The CM B series isn't that great. Look for XFX psu's, they are really good for the price.
  17. It's under documentation: http://www.gc-linux.org/wiki/Documentation Edit: It looks like you can't install it.
  18. It is often listed on the manufactures website or in the product's specsheet. But I can tell you that the timings isn't the problem. The timings de rarely make a diffrence.
  19. Yep, it looks like it. Then there's more space for other stuff on the mainboard and is less interference.
  20. You don't need to pick a 500w psu, the 600w will be just fine. All I'm saying is that "I" would pick a 500w or 550w psu for this build. But I don't really know about the quality of the CM Thunder line of psu's. I would pick something better, like a Seasonic, XFX or Corsair.
  21. I would pick a 500w power supply intead of the 600w, but apart from that, it's a solid build. I guess you already have ram for your build?
  22. vga isn't that bad... The colours aren't as good as with a digital signal, but if you have a good cable, then it's not really that bad. Just be sure to not use any of the very thin vga cables (the once who come included with the monitors).
  23. Yes, motherboard manufacturers often add features, but they do rarely have performance drops. Updating a bios has never been easier than now, with the build in updating tools on new motherboards.
  24. There is not really any way to know what the settings was before. It is settings like ram speeds/timings and cpu clock (will only change if the cpu was overclocked/underclocked before the flash) that would affect performance.
