  1. I just bought an Asus ROG B450-F Gaming motherboard and a Ryzen 3600. I can't even boot into the BIOS and the DRAM troubleshooting light lights up. It needs a BIOS update but I don't have another cpu to boot with. It there a way to flash the BIOS without the cpu? I want to save myself a trip to the store so they can do it for me. The MB and CPU are brand new, and the ram is working properly
  2. Fortnite has been awful since the start of season x. Performance has been terrible. I don't think it's you, we just have to wait for a new nvidia driver or a fortnite patch I guess. I have the same problem on a 1080.
  3. Thanks for the replies. I will be going for the Corsair Crystal 460X Now all I have to do is start cleaning rads and blocks
  4. This is our version of PC Part Picker https://www.solotodo.com/computer_cases?ordering=offer_price_usd& Wasnt sure if I could post the link in the original post.
  5. Hi, I have been using a Mini ITX setup for about 5 years now, I have a Caselabs S3 (RIP). At first I ran it with a Radiator pedestal with dual 45mm 240mm radiators to cool a 4690k and a 980 (at the time). Currently Im running the S3 without the pedestal cooling a GTX 1080 with one of the 240mm rads and the cpu with air. Its time for an upgrade though. Im going back to ATX and I have a Caselabs SM8 I could use, but since Caselabs no longer exists and my case has been modded I would need spare parts to make it look decent for the new build, but thats not a choice so I need a new case My new build will consist of a Ryzen 5 3600 and the 1080 and I want to cool both with water. I need a case that can fit the following Either dual 45mm 240mm radiators Or one 45mm 240mm and a 60mm 360mm radiator Or maybe I could get away with just using the 360mm rad for both the CPU and GPU The reservoir that I have is the XSPC Photon 270 and a D5 pump but Im not married to that reservoir I could get something smaller I want the case to be a mid tower The only other feature I want on a case is a Glass side panel. PS: No Fractal Design recommendations please, those are not available in my country
  6. How about an ASRock Fatal1ty B450 Gaming K4. A lot cheaper than the ROG one and has the features I need. Paired with a Ryzen 5 3600 it amount to almost the same price as the 3400G and ROG board
  7. Thanks for the replies. I think that I will put up my hardware up for sale (minus the 1080) since I have a spare power supply and case to make a nice bundle and use the money to upgrade platform to Ryzen. Does this setup make sense? I have been out of the hardware loop for a while Ryzen 5 3400G ROG Strix B450-F Gaming (There are cheaper options but looks matter since it will be a custom loop) Crucial Ballistix Sport AT 2x8GB Crucial P1 500BG Should I spend more on the CPU or is this good? Plus the 1080 I own and I have a Gold certified Seasonic 850w power supply I dont mention budget because hardware pricing here in Chile is all over the place. It makes no sense
  8. Hi, earlier this year I bought a GTX 1080 with a waterblock, to upgrade from my 980. I currently have a i5 4690K currently running on air at 4.1GHz. It used to be running at 3.7GHz but I noticed that my frames in games like Apex and Battlefield were not up to what's expected of the 1080. (I'm running a gsync 160hz monitor) Is my processor not up to par with the 1080? (full specs on profile) Im trying to keep this platform for as long as I can because Im still on DDR3 so a full upgrade would be costly. I also would like get a new NVME SSD, which would mean getting a new MB, but that I could get second hand for cheap. There is a ASUS Maximus VI Extreme I have my eye on which supports my processor and could use the drive with a PCI e adaptor. Would it be a waste to just change motherboard and keep the CPU or should I just take the hit and upgrade platforms. The only intensive load on my PC is gaming and the CPU and GPU will be watercooled with a custom loop.
  9. I just found my 980 extra thermal pads. I hope those fit. I'll measure the ones installed Thanks
  10. Hi, I just bought a GTX 1080 with an included Thermaltake Pacific V-GTX 10 Series Founders Edition block and I would like to replace the thermal pads before setting up the loop. The ones that come with it are a bit dirty and looking rough. Is there a website where I can check the thickness of the pads that I need to use? I have some spares but don't know if those are a good fit. Would measuring the used ones thickness be an accurate measurement? Thanks in advance
  11. I bought a 1994 Model M around 6 years ago. Used it for a week and it ended up in a shelf as a decoration ever since. Unless you have farmer hands the switches are too heavy for regular use, especially gaming. Just get a regular cheaper board and maybe save up again for a model M if you want it for the look or nostalgia.
  12. Thanks to your recommendations I found a great deal on a Asus PG248q used monitor and a 1080 founders edition with an included water block for a good price too. I guess it's back to watercooling for me Thoughts on this configuration would be appreciated
  13. Thanks for the quick replies. Would it be more realistic going for a 1080p gsync monitor so I don't have to change cpu? I could watercool it, I still have the hardware (2x120mm 60mm radiators, only for the cpu). Then I could put some more cash into the gpu.
  14. EDIT: I got such a good deal on a monitor (Asus P248) and GPU (1080 with a waterblock) (500 bucks for both) that I’m considering doing a CPU MB and RAM upgrade. I’m not married to Intel and I’m considering either sticking with Mini ITX (on a Caselabs S3, water cooled CPU and GPU with 2 2x120 60mm rads) or going back to ATX (Caselabs SM8, with 3x120mm 60mm + 4x120mm 60mm rads). I already have the WC hardware, would only need a new bracket for AMD CPU. I only need the performance for gaming since my work doesn’t require the horsepower. Please keep as cheap as possible while sticking to the following: NVME support (future) CPU Overclocking No need for fancy audio, got that covered Current or past chipsets Thanks again ____________________________________ Hi, it's been a long time since I post in the forum. Have been out of the hardware game for a minute. I recently started gaming again (BO4, BFV, Fortnite and will try Apex soon) I'm looking to upgrade at least my GPU and display. My goal is gaming at 1440p ~165hz with gsync (looking at a Dell S2417DG). I don't mind lower details, I want frames. My current setup is: i5 4690k currently at stock clocks Evga Z97 Stinger Evga 980 SC stock cooler 16gb ram 240gb Kingston SSD 850w power supply (good quality, can't recall model right now) This used to be watercooled but not right now. My budget is not set but I was thinking on getting a new 2060 or a used 1080. Not sure what's my best bet for what I want to achieve. Is my cpu still good enough? I don't really want to go through the hassle of selling my hardware and starting from scratch I was thinking of SSD Raid 0 with new sata drives since I don't have more pci e ports for faster drives. Is it worth it for a snappier windows experience? I won't give a set budget because hardware prices are all over the place in my country. Just want to know if what I'm thinking of doing makes sense. Thanks in advance
  15. The problem is not people being on their phones, it is people recording the show and uploading it
  16. I understand your point but you are a reasonable person that would either ignore the call or go outside to talk, some people, especially drunk ones usually just pick up their phone. Other problem with kicking people out is that if you are serving food or drinks to somebody and you kick them out, that bill doesn't get paid, this makes club or venue managers not want to kick people out unless there is a mayor problem One other thing, even if the venues are public, the event is not. You need a ticket to get in and whenever you buy a ticket for something you are agreeing to the terms set by the production agency.
  17. This is not about freedom, you have the freedom to choose if you want to attend a show where you can't use your phone. It's like not being able to bring your own food to the movies, rules like this ones in private establishments are in no way an attempt at your freedom Filming comedians shows is a huge problem because if a joke is not finished and you are still working on it, you don't want it to be public. That's why stand up specials exists, if someone posts a joke you were working on online, now you can't use that joke on your special.
  18. What do you mean, they will send you a new one It might depend in the country, I had a problem with my claim number so I haven't been able to finish the process
  19. Apparently I won't have to send my current tablet back, they'll just brick it
  20. The whole point of CaseLabs cases is that they are fully modular and customizable with the pedestals and such. The price is because of the high quality and standard of their products. I own 2 CL cases, an S3 and SM8, this cases have the thickest aluminum I have ever seen in a case and they are made in house and to order. The way I see it is like this, imagine you make custom knifes and you make them by hand. You choose the best materials for optimal cutting abilities and durability, then a Chinese company shows up and takes your designs and starts mass producing them. It's not just about taking your market, but your intellectual property.
  21. How about this They may have licensed the design but Swiftech is not mentioned once on their website
