  1. Yes, sorry for the unclear wording. I dual boot Fedora Linux and Windows 10. Gaming on Linux is mostly fine, but for things that have wack DRM (i.e. basically all non-steam games) i find that Windows is just less hassle
  2. Hi all, Im pretty sure my GTX 980ti has just died after 7 faithful years, so I am looking for a new GPU, but I'm not sure what would fit my system. My specs are: i5 12600KF 32 GB DDR4 760W PSU (+ Shitty ASUS H610m mobo that bottlenecks my other comopnents. Mistakes were made) 165hz 1440p monitor I don't really game a lot, and when i game its mostly easy-to-run like Hoi4 and Rocket League (sometimes more heavy games like Assassins creed). I love google Earth also, that usually pinned my old GPU xD. I have always used Nvidia, but i use Linux a lot, so im a bit intrigued of AMD. My local hardware store is curretly running a sale on AMD 6950 XT - could this be a good option? https://www.komplett.no/product/1221527/datautstyr/pc-komponenter/skjermkort/xfx-radeon-rx-6950-xt-speedster-merc-319 It says it needs 850PSU, so it might not be worth it to risk it for me. Other than this im quite interested in the 4070ti as this only needs 700W PSU (which i cover with mine) Any thoughts? All help would be greatly appreciated Cheers!
  3. I think i fixed this by selecting "Enable CSM modules in the BIOS". The issue is basically resolved now. I broke my fedora install trying to convert it to GPT xD
  4. I found this answer: , and this is probably my problem. Both the drives are MBR, and according to this dude they must be GPT to work
  5. Hi all, I just upgraded my Cpu, mobo and ram (and cooler), and when i go to boot the BIOS does recognize the drives, but it doesn't give me any valid boot options. 240gb drive has fedora 36 and the 500gb drive has Windows 10. I booted from both as late as yesterday, so the installs should be fine. Both the drives are SATA. My old system was Z97-based, the new setup is with the H610M-A-chipset. (Mobo: Asus Prime H610M-A Wifi D4) Also, i inspected the partitions with a live Fedora USB - they seem fine. Any tips on how I may 'activate' them somehow?
  6. Im sad that i dont have a solution, but i just wanted to let you know that i have had the same problems with literally ALL the 4 most recent FIFA games, so its probably because of a shitty port or something
  7. Thanks folks! I'll be keeping my eyes open for a 4790k used deal (none are currently avaible in my area) and OC my 4690k in the mean time
  8. Would you say that there was a noticeable difference?
  9. Currently im running some CM dual tower (iirc Evo something) but i have an AIO 2x140mm somewhere so i suppose i should try that, thanks!
  10. Budget (including currency): 6000 norwegian crowns; basically $600 USD Country: Norway Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 1080p 144hz gaming Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi! I just wanted to ask for suggestions as to what I ought to upgrade in my system? Currently i have: 4690k @ stock 980ti @ stock too 16gb ddr3 @ 1333ish mzh (8gb 1333 + 8gb 1600mhz) 500gb 850evo boot drive mobo: Asus ROG hero 7 (vii) Basically the only real issue i have is how strained my CPU appears to be, but due to price I would prefer not having to upgrade my entire cpu+mobo+ram stack. The first thing i looked into was getting faster storage, something like m.2, but as i understand my current system does not have enough PCI-e lanes for that to be possible. Does anybody have any suggestions? As i aim for 1080p 144hz i think that my gpu (980 ti) is fine All responses are greatly appreciated
  11. ohh that sounds more like a physical error. I have 2 roccat kone pures (not ultra) which have essentially this error. Does it work for you if you click with a lot of force?
  12. Probably a game setting where you can choose between holding and toggle, which now is set to toggle
  13. Sure, but as this is 2018 v 2020 and they both are A12 based i would assume them to be equally supported
  14. Hi! I have the choice between getting a 2018 iPad Pro 64gb for 7500(~$750), or the new 2020 model with 128gb for 9400(~$940). But i really can't make up my mind about what to get. I don't really need performance as im probably going to use it for media consumption, so the main reason for getting the 2020 would be futureproofing imo. Any thoughts? edit: I've only been looking at the 11" model, but i realize now that i can get a 2018 12.9" for 2020 11" money
  15. I am sorry, i thought it was an (S?)AMOLED. If it's IPS then there will of course be no problem. What i define as a "static image" would be something like a channel logo in the corner btw
