Hi! So I have an LG UH66 TV, which takes the HDMI input from my PC, and an Amazon Echo Dot. I also have a 5.1 system I want to use conveniently, basically I never want to switch inputs. I'd need a DAC / Mixer, which takes SPDIF and Jack/RCA inputs, and outputs it in 5.1. SPDIF: Comes from the TV, can be 2.0, 5.1 source of course (audio passthrough). In the case of 2.0, it should be output as surround. Jack / RCA: Comes from the Echo Dot, is 2.0, should be output as surround. If both are active, it should just mix them together. Is there anything on the market to satisfy my needs?

Strictly one user. But okay, lets deal with the elephant in the room. What the hell does transcoding mean for PLEX??? Do I even need it?

Well damn, we are probably not there yet. Maybe with a 10Gbps network in a few years. I'll probably opt in for a Raspberry 3, and power up a hard drive from external power, then run PLEX Server on that.

Ah, see, thats it, I don't want to run my PC to get PLEX going. I was thinking on getting a Netgear Nighthawk X10, that would (in theory), provide everything I need. Question is, can I get sufficient read speeds from the connected HDD to power the games?

Okay, I just bought a freakin smart TV, oh my the possibilities. So, the idea here is. I get a router which supports DLNA, connect a HDD to it, then share it on the network. I can, in theory, access every movie and series I want from that HDD on my LG TV. Now, what I want is, to ditch the HDD from my PC, and use that one on the network, to install games on it. Again, in theory, I have 125 MB/s (1gbps) read speeds from the HDD, which is not that much less than the speed of a 7200 RPM local HDD. Oh, and I have a Steam Link under the TV, which is connected to the network, and I stream games to it from the PC. Can this work or am I just a mad man?

So, I have an Asus Xonar DG soundcard, and a new Genius 1250B speaker, with the controlls on the right one. The idea was to swap the RCA cables, changing the channels, so I can put the control speaker to the left, closer to my PC. I removed one, then the aliens tried to contact me. Plugged it back, still noisy as hell. Now, this green jack is dead I guess. But I set the Asus software to 4 speaker output, and plugged the speakers into the black jack, restoring the sound. However, I don't know if this is still true stereo? How does the stereo to quadraphonic conversion work? Do I hear the same thing in the now virtually rear speakers? Another idea was to remap the jacks, like you can with Realtek cards, but I have no clue how to do it with the Asus soundcard, probably some registry magic.

No, but if you want to upgrade your CPU to a more futureproff version, you need a new motherboard too. And that's more than $250.

#1 is a new GPU for sure. And maybe another 4GB of RAM.

I can get an EVGA GTX 660 ACX for the same price as an Asus GTX 750 Ti Strix. I will surely OC both, but I know Maxwell is better at OC than Kepler. Which one do you think I should get?

Yep, competitive games must have 60 for me too. However, these adventure games like Tomb Raider, Spec Ops: The Line, are fine at 30 imo.

I must be inferior, I don't even notice it, only the cursor movement seems off in the menus. It's a gift.

Quite the technology, eh? It's a littlebit more complicated than that. Without triple buffering, yes, it either sets it to 60, 30, 20, 15, 12, 10, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, or 1. If you have a 60 Hz monitor, of course. With triple buffering, it can be any number, without tearing, but with input lag. I am always playing with V-Sync on, the tearing drives me nuts, and it's not just 30 FPS.

What? No, not at all, only if you don't have triple buffering. I don't feel the laggy feedback of 30 FPS with the controller as much as I do with the mouse.

Sadly, it's nothing like GW1 was, but this is good news for you now. It does worth the money, no question here. There is not an other MMO right now, that is a better bang for the buck. The thing is, the endgame is for getting skins for your character, or hours of grinding for a marginaly better gear. Other than that, the leveling is hell of a fun, the content is top notch, the gameplay is butter smooth. It's more of a casual game, than a hardcore MMO, but definitely worth the money. You get your fair share of 300-500 hours of fun. Gameplay wise, the holy trinity is broken. Oh well, there is holy duo now. Tank and DPS, you take care of your own HP. If you buy the game, try out every class, because they are not the definitive MMO classes, and then settle with one. There are quite a few dungeons for storyline and farming also. Just don't expect years of addiction.

My laptop obviously can't run games at high/max graphics. So I locked the FPS at 30 with NVIDIA Inspector, bumped the graphic settings, and you know, it's not that bad. I could go 40 FPS I think, but it's actually more annoying, because while one frame is there for 1 Hz of monitor refresh rate, other is there for 2 Hz, it seems not right. With my XBOX controller, it's even better, because the lack of sensitivity of a mouse. I would not dare to play FPS games at 30 FPS however, but TPS, it's great that I can max out the graphics. Don't get me wrong, games should still come with the option to run it at 60 FPS. I suggest you trying it, if you can't get high enough frames per second.

Well, they have to, or the R7 265 will be a fail. At least, here, in Hungary, the ASUS R7 260X is at 38.000 HUF, R9 270 at 53.000 HUF.The ASUS 750 Ti is at 46.000 HUF currently, so R7 265 has to be at around the same price, or it's out of the league. (VAT included.)

Ah well, power usage doesn't really bother me. Have a 750W modular PSU, and a decent cooled case.
