  1. Yup, the only reason we purchased it was because the had it at the Dell outlet store for super cheap. Definitely worth the money we paid for it. I would not get one new.
  2. Dell XPS 8100. CPU: i7-860 RAM: 8GB GPU: Nvidia GeForce 210 CPU wise it was great, but the GPU let it down. I ended up swapping it for a GTS 450 before building my own PC. Funny thing, the 210 I took out of it is currently in my computer because I had to sell the 660Ti I had in it. I really need to get a new GPU.
  3. Be happy they weren't! My first(and only) edible experience involved me eating a whole medium pizza and sleeping for over 12 hours. And I felt high for two full days, not fun at all. Also, drugs are not good for you no matter how "safe" people claim they are. Don't do them. Or at least wait till you are old enough to face the consequences of being caught. Not to mention that damage they can cause on a growing person's brain.
  4. I'm going to try to run my main monitor from the onboard GPU and my secondary from the 210. Hopefully that works, I need to get a HDMI to DVI first.
  5. I guess I'm not a "power user" anymore so it matters less to me. One concert a year would be impossible for me, too much fun!
  6. I built my PC a year ago. And I'm not really in any "financial difficulty". Its just that the tickets cost a ton (~$200) And I don't have that much cash on hand at the moment.
  7. I wish I could. I ran the Unigine Heaven Basic Benchmark and I got a score of 157 and 6.2 FPS. :'(
  8. lol Yup. Got the core up to 680MHz and the Memory up to 780MHz. Can't go any higher in afterburner. NOt much of a difference in performance.
  9. "LTT Unofficial Conspiracy Theorist" You have earned your title.
  10. Their car systems are overpriced. You can build much better systems for how much they cost. The speaker quality is also on the low end. Better than most stock systems, but crap compared to better brands.
  11. Hey! BF3 is actually kinda playable!! ...at 640x480 and low settings. I guess I want to play a shooter I'll have to stick with Combat Arms. Edit: got to 81C after like 10 minutes.
  12. haha yeah. I'm going to try to play BF3 now! lets see if I can crack 10FPS at the lowest settings.
  13. God, I remember running linux off a really old 2GB USB drive. Took like a minute to open a simple program.
  14. The 210 I have has DDR3 RAM and it has 16 Cuda cores which is2x the 8400(660Ti has over 1300...). So far its been working well! No problem playing 1080P 60FPS video! No lag either using windows 8. I'm definitely surprised by this card! It does get pretty toasty! Idle with 2 monitors right now and its at 67C O_o. Nvidia specs say max temp is 105C, so I should be fine. I guess that is the price you pay for not dealing with the tiny whiny fans on other low end cards.
  15. Already put it on ebay! And just a group of friends. There are girls, but that's not the reason I'm going. It's more of a festival(Hard Summer) than a concert. Probably going to party Sat night and go to the actual festival Sunday.
  16. Surprisingly it is working fine! Even playing 1080P 60FPS videos it only gets to around 60% usage! I think I should be fine using this for a couple months!
  17. I was about to hook it up and then I realized that my mobo only has one video output. I wonder if I can run one monitor off the 210 and one off the iGPU.
  18. I wonder if the integrated GPU in my 2700K is better than the 210. I doubt it is since its an older Intel CPU.
  19. Well its more of a festival than a concert, but yes people still go to concerts  I think I'll wait a little while for the prices of the 800 series to go down before getting a new GPU. Maybe early-mid 2015. I'll probably stick with Nvidia because I've had a really good experience with their GPUs.
  20. I have to sell my 660Ti to get some money for concert tickets. And the only replacement I have is a GeForce 210.... Am I going to feel any difference in performance in non gaming scenarios? I mostly just go on youtube and browse the web. Pretty much no gaming any more. I have two monitors connected to my computer, in case it matters. One thing I have noticed right away is that colors seem different with the 210. They actually seem better. but maybe its just my eyes. Anyone else ever do a downgrade? How bad did it suck? I'll probably get a new GPU once the 800 or 900 series comes out. Don't need anything nice right now.
  21. This guide covers LA pretty well: https://sites.google.com/site/theredditguidetola I definitely recommend going to the Griffith Observatory and/or The Getty for great views of the city(when its not covered by smog). Beaches in the Malibu area are very nice(Zuma, Leo Carillo). If you want to free dive, there are some nice spots near Laguna Beach. Hiking is also another option if you are into that type of thing. The hike up to Mount Wilson is very nice. 12 mile round trip, not too bad if you are in moderately fit condition. Views are great from up there. If you want to go shopping or just check out landmarks, Hollywood and Pasadena are good places for that. Food is a big thing in LA, you can find pretty much any kind of food you want here. Little Tokyo has some very nice and cheap restaurants. Check out Shin-Sen-Gumi if you are a fan of ramen, its one of my favorites and a great spot to go with friends. I don't have time to list more stuff right now, but check out the link I posted above!
  22. I don't know about the best brand, but both my Canon 450D and T5i have been amazing. The 450D has been through years of abuse and it still works great.
  23. i7 860 and a GT 210 Now its a i7 2700K and a 660Ti. NOt much change on the CPU front, but the GPU is quiet a bit better. Don't plan on upgrading anything for at least another 4-5 years. Maybe a SSD or another hard drive, but that's it. Hopefully this stuff lasts that long.
