  1. Mine. I used the one teksyndicate posted for his foobar video and changed it a little bit.
  2. Awesome! So looks like I will be ordering an SSD tonight. Going with the 850 Evo!
  3. Hey guys! I was just wondering how many of you guys have had any reliability problems with your SSDs. I'm finally in the market to get one since they are so cheap now, but I am kinda concerned about how stable they are. I have not really read into them much since a couple years ago when a couple brands were having pretty bad problems with their SSDs. So my question for those of you who have had an SSD for ~1 year: How has it been going for you? Any problems so far? Let me know what kind of stress they have been put through! Lots of data transfers or did you just put your OS on there and that's it? Thanks!!
  4. I recommend the WD Reds. They are a bit more, but they have worked the best for me. Any of the WD drives should be good. I've only ever bought 1 Seagate HD and it is failing after ~2.5 years.
  5. If you want the extra threads like everyone already said. I'm running a 2700K and I can overclock it pretty well, so if you do video editing or other CPU intensive tasks, a OCd 2600K might help.
  6. For $50 you don't have too many options. One option would be to check out your local goodwill or other thrift store, you can find some gems for cheap! I tried a couple of those 2.1 systems that cost $30-$50 and they were all pretty meh, but if you just want sound they will work for you: http://www.amazon.com/Cyber-Acoustics-Subwoofer-Packaging-CA-3602a/dp/B0027VT6V4/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1453363424&sr=8-13&keywords=2.1 I had those ones for quiet a while. If you can save up a bit this combo will be so much better: Speakers: http://www.amazon.com/Micca-MB42-Bookshelf-Speakers-Tweeter/dp/B009IUIV4A Amp: http://www.amazon.com/Lepy-LP-2024A-Amplifier-Stereo-Supply/dp/B00ULRFQ1A If you don't really care about quality and just want speakers for games and music, just go with the 2.1 system.
  7. I'm not 100% sure, I just feel that I can get adequate sound from my speakers without blasting them. It might be because I have a sub so the bass just satisfies me.
  8. Have had my RAT 5 for yearss now. Best mouse I have ever used, I hope they don't stop making them because using anything else is torture now.
  9. With my headphones max I have seen is like 109DB. With my speakers I'm getting ~95dbs at my ears. I find that I am fine with quieter music when using speakers, but I always play super loud with headphones. Except for when I'm in my car, I always play music wayyy too loud in my car, ears are usually ringing after.
  10. Get a set of speakers if you can! If not, open headphones are the best bet. Cars have lots of speakers in them so you get the whole surround sound effect which is hard to do with headphones.
  11. I have tried the HD201s and they sound awful to me. I don't have a suggestion for you , but I would avoid the 201s.
  12. Ooo Thats perfect! I was looking at the old Magni modi combo, but it was a bit too much money for me. Didn't know the new Magni had preamp outs.

    New AMP/DAC

Hey guys! So the headphone amp section on my Fiio E10 DAC/amp is starting to die. I'm getting weird thumping and clicking noises from it and sometimes it cuts out all together. So now I'm on the search for a new amp. The DAC section and the output on the rear of the Fiio still works fine so getting a standalone amp instead of a amp/DAC combo is an option. Just not sure if the DAC in the E10 is good or not. I also use the Fiio rear output to run to my speaker amp so maybe a new DAC/amp combo would be a better choice. Right now I am looking at two things: Amp: Little Dot I+ http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A2QM5O6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=A2Q0JVLI22BSVA Amp/DAC: SMSL SD793-ii : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A2QLPJM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_sfl_title_5&smid=A1V0149CC6WCAD Any opinions? The SMSL is quiet a bit cheaper so I'll be able to get a set of velour pads for my headphones if I get that. Budget - $150 Source - Current source is a Fiio E10 Current Headphones - Hifiman HE-400
  14. My suggestions: 1. You honestly don't need that huge cooler even in your hot weather. A Hyper 212 Evo will do fine. Unless you are overclocking of course. 2. Why do you want 2 SSDs? I would drop one of those and get a large hard drive instead. Use the SSD for OS and programs, and some games, and use the HD for video/photo/etc. 3. Spend the money from swapping out the SSD on a little better GPU. 4. PSU is pretty overkill. Something in the 600 range will do just fine.

    Any good?

Shouldn't really need an amp for those headphones. At most get something like this: http://www.amazon.com/SMSL-SD793-II-PCM1793-DIR9001-Amplifier/dp/B00A2QLPJM/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1450239761&sr=1-2&keywords=smsl
  16. My current one is at 3 years now. Only change has been the GPU. Sold the 660Ti last year, just got a 7970. I'm pretty happy with it, don't see a reason to upgrade for at least another 3 years. I just need to get a SSD and I'm set.
  17. Gigabyte Windforce 7970. $100 used. Upgraded from a GT 210 so I'm happy.
  18. I'm pretty set with my current rig. Don't have the itch to upgrade yet. Next rig CPU: i7 9xxxK series GPU: Nividia GTX x70 or whatever their numbering scheme turns into. Mobo: Not a top tier board, but something which will alloy moderate overclocking. Storage: SSDs for sure + a WD Red Drive. Maybe PCIe if it gets cheaper. Case: Something black and incognito, my phantom 410 is wayyy too flashy. Cooling: AIO watercooling for both CPU and GPU. Audio: Happy with my HE-400s and speakers. but a new DAC+AMP stack would be nice.
  19. I've been trying to figure out why my computer turns on randomly at night sometimes. I always unplug it before sleeping now.
  20. Well we aren't talking about top end audiophile systems in this thread are we?
  21. Oh I have definitely heard a high end system before. I just got a good deal used on the sub. It was $450 when new. Its a Mission MS-10.
  22. Try to find some used speakers!! I bought a old set of Mission speakers for $45 and they sound amazing! I bought the speakers for $45, a cheap 2.1 amp for $60, and a subwoofer for $20(used, kinda old but also sounds amazing). For only $125 I got a kick ass setup and don't see a reason to upgrade. having listened to a lot of old and new speakers, I just don't see a way I can justify the prices of newer ones. The older speakers still sound amazing.
  23. I used to have the 315s and I currently am using the 215s. Isolation with the comply foam tips was pretty much the same for both. Audio wise, there was not too much of a difference between the two. Since I only use these when I'm out and about, I decided to drop down to the 215s to save a bit of money. I can't tell you about the 425s, but whatever you get will be enormously better than the apple buds. If you have the cash, go for the 425s, but if I was in your position I would just get the 315s. Isolation is great with these!! You will like them for live usage! EDIT: Like the previous poster said, tryout the 215s if you can. Upgrading from the Apple POS earbud, the 215s will probably blow you away. Might as well save money and go with them. But in the end it depends on how much you are wanting to spend.
  24. E10K will work great for you. SMSL SD693 is also a good option: http://www.amazon.com/SMSL-SD793-II-PCM1793-DIR9001-Amplifier/dp/B00A2QLPJM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1448470838&sr=8-3&keywords=SMSL+headphone+amp My old E10 is finally dying so I might be getting the SMSL soon. My friend has one and it works great.
