The case I'm using is a NZXT H440, my motherboard is a Gigabyte Z370 HD3P.
I tried to turn on my PC earlier and before I could touch the power button I got shocked. This also powered the computer on. It booted up normally into windows. However the front audio port seems to only be outputting random static, unaffected by any actions on my PC. It's also outputting the same thing from the mic jack. I've tried the back slots but it seems like they're not outputting anything, although I've never used them before so I'm not sure if I'm just not using them correctly. The front USB ports next to the audio are functioning fine.
The static noises continue while my PC is turning off and while it's off, although it's just a monotone buzz. I've tried shutting it down and unplugging it from the wall for a few minutes to no avail. Luckily my monitor has sound pass through, which works for now but I can't use my mic at all.
I don't think I was charged because I touched a few metal things in my apartment before my PC, and I discharged into my monitor when I went to turn it on (it's fine). I'm not sure what could've caused this. I haven't opened my PC in over two weeks. I'm also using a surge protector.
Is my motherboard's sound card just toast?
Any help would be amazing
