    Hello guys,

Here is my situation, in my pc i connected a thermaltake PS (toughpower irgb plus 850w), i got a new UPS because where i live we always get the electricity to shut down. The UPS i got is (m8-2500) with a capacity of 1200w. When the electricity from the grid goes off, the pc restarts and the UPS starts making clicky noises constantly. So what cloud be the issue ?

Pls advise ? Any help would be appreciated.

I tried the UPS on another smaller pc, it works fine.

    Pc specs

    Cpu intel i7 12700K

    Ram 32 gb ddr4

    Evga rtx 3090 ftw3

    Mb asus z690

Your Power Supply is Active PFC and the UPS uses a simulated sine wave. Not sure if thats the issue but I do recall when buying my first UPS, the research I did then did say you needed a UPS that had a proper sine wave with a Active PFC PSU. That might be your issue.

Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max (256 GB) - Natural Titanium | [Locked] | Boost Infinite plan required starting at $60/mo. | Unlimited Wireless | No trade-in needed to start | Get the latest iPhone every year https://a.co/d/72frDYA

Am I missing something? What's the catch? Did these people just ho defunct and is dumping their stock?

So you probably are going to have to enter a finance agreement. Where you agree to be a customer for X amount of time and they will pay for the phone. If you choose to leave early your will have to pay the full cost of the device.

    Quote

Pay $0.01 for the phone at checkout (other than taxes on full retail price + shipping charges). Requires activation and financing through Boost Infinite. After checkout Boost Infinite will collect $60 that will be credited against your first month's wireless service bill.

You likely will be force in to a finance agreement each year. Its a ploy to keep you locked in. I wouldnt do it.

Im having the exact issue i think optus did not aquire ports so no one can port foward for an mc server.

Looking at what an Optus router is, its for cellular based internet. Most cellular companies I know of here in the US use carrier grade NAT as they dont have enough public IP's. Thats likely your issue.

can be web based, making it OS-agnostic. IMO ditching MS Office (or 365 as they now call it for some inexplicable reason) would be the much bigger deal for end users.

I wonder how Google's productivity software compares? I use Google Sheets for my budget spreadsheet and it works for how I use it.

and one million linus members no one has setup wifi 6e?

For some context as well. 6Ghz only started to be used in WiFi 6e, which was adopted in 2020 according to Wikipedia. So we have 4 years of use. Its going to take time for things to be worked out. WiFi 5 was out for years before I upgraded to it. Furthermore there are lots of variables including the router, the WiFi adapter on the client, the environment that they are in that effect performance. If you want good reliable speeds invest in Ethernet.

a private consumer, why wouldn't you simply move to Windows 11 at that point?

Because your computer doesn’t officially support it. My mom’s machine doesn’t support it officially, and she is not going to want to buy a new machine when the one she has works for what she uses it for.

With the current fragmentation and greed issue (neither will get fixed ever) makes it financially more viable to own a bunch of media and back them up to a NAS.......

Thats all cool if you want to take the time to rip your media and have money for drives.

For me it kinda sucks because I can hear the NAS drive spin up and down when Im sleeping. My dad sleeps with the TV on, and so he doesnt burn thru our data allotment for the month he watches plex. Cant move the NAS easily because running Ethernet in our home is not easy, at least due to my folks owning the house. If I had my choice I know a good way to run the cables but they wont let me.

One more reason to cut the cord permanently? 🤔 Also watch the same buttheads cry about piracy rising again........ 🤣

As long as you buy physical media. But there is a cost to drive to store all the data, more if you want high resolution/HDR content.

Even streaming providers are fucking up. They are all stumbling over the password sharing, all are trying to push ads or make you pay more. They are literally giving me more reason to just go with out their product.

why is there an expiry at all?

It might be the content owners. I know with the ATSC 3.0 spec here in the US they added DRM for DVR's. The DVR has to be able to download a license from the internet and they can set an expiration date on the recordings. All because big media are greedy. That might be a big part of it. Possibly like you said, they might not want to store all that content long term.

It's almost as if everybody wants AI to do way more than it's capable of.

AI hasn't been and still isn't ready for most of the applications that people are trying to use it for.

To be honest when the launched the stores AI was kinda meh, it was still really really new. They probably could have AI do the job now. My guess is Amazon doesnt want to take the time to build and train an AI to do it.

My preferred option would be that stores have equal numbers of manned checkouts and unmanned ones, because far too many "self checkout" stores will have like all the self checkouts open but only have one or two manned ones open.

Thats exactly what happens. Friday night at Walmart or Meijer we have maybe 2 manned lanes. But these stores dont want to pay people and therefore have a hard time finding help. Especially with all the warehouses in the area who will pay more. The best part of working in a warehouse is you dont have to deal with the general public, which has gotten worse over the last 4 years (too many dont know how to act in public).

the cashier scanning your groceries, and the bagger bagging the groceries, which hasn't been a thing since the 80's.)

Meijer is bringing it back. They dont always have a dedicated bagger but many times they do. Its kinda nice. Since the remodel they have increased the number of self check outs, decreased the manned isles (but they dont have a majority open most days anyway), and added bagggers.

Why focus on reducing human interaction when this will make basic tasks like grocery shopping just more tedious? Just for the sake of not having to look another person in the eyes? If you're at this level of social anxiety, you should absolutely see a doctor about that.

I think the biggest issue is finding people that want those jobs. Most of the cashier's at our local Walmart for example are older people, if I had to guess those who are not making it on social security. Hell my aunt works at Meijer for that exact reason.

I have observed that the younger generation likes it with less human interaction. I do to as well, but Im heavily an introvert due to my time working in customer service.

With advances in (future) AI maybe it could work then?

Scan as you go isn't new but I guess it just works. I've been using it for grocery shopping for years, although you still have to scan a terminal at the end to make payment. Removing that would save a little time and aid convenience.

The problem I have with scan and go at least at Meijer, I have to wait for a clerk as they have to scan 4 items at random from the order. So I’m stuck there with a thumb up my ass waiting as the clerks are helping out other shoppers at self checkout.

Dunno what to say more about this farce

Biden posted a tweet about how he talked to President Xi Jinping about US/China relations and other world issues. Im not sure if he did that before or after he forgot where he was.........

At this point its getting comical. We cant put the AI back in the box and really all these restrictions do is slow down the inevitable.

Hot take. Credit should probably be frozen by default.

The issue with that is its a pain to do stuff. Want to switch cell carriers? You have to remember to unfreeze your credit at all 3 bureau's. Want to rent an apartment? Same thing. Too many businesses expect to be able to run your credit. I think it takes 24 hours to for them to process a credit unfreeze. Then you either have to remember to refreeze it which I think costs $10 per bureau or you can do a temp unfreeze for a number of days.

i think its because they don't like passports,

Thats a misconception. The reason most American's dont have a pass port is because our country is so freaken huge we dont need to leave to enjoy a vacation. Secondly if traveling by ship or land we can enter Canada and Mexico if you have a enhanced license which is a lot cheaper than a passport. Thirdly most of us could not afford to travel to the EU or ASIA for that matter. Most of us are what you would call poor.
