seen an 8mill automated grocry store with 2 people... its just a mater of time and when not if.

Wont work here in the US. There has been sooooooo much theft at Self Checkouts, that there is talk about bringing cashiers back and putting self check behind a paywall, at least at Walmart.

To me automation does make a lot of sense for fast food. When it comes to retail I think we still got a bit of time. Even Amazon came out and said their staffless stores were not staffless after all.

but i mean there robots around the corner....

With $20 min wage in California I have a feeling robots are not around the corner but already here. I know at least one restaurant out there was fully automated, I forget the name. I also seen a CNBC special on how some fast food places were using robots, at a White Castle location they stated they used one for the fryer station. Which in hindsight is probably the most dangerous job in a fast food restaurant.

Most people look at automation at fast food as a bad thing. Honestly I look at it more positively. Yes we are taking away jobs, but these are jobs people dont really want. However food could become cheaper, there could be more consistency when it comes to quality. Plus that also takes the punching bag (the fast food worker) out of the equation. Too many people feel entitled to use workers as punching bags. Not to mention Ive seen too many times on the news customers shooting at fast food workers. If you dont like that people make mistakes then take your lazy ass to the grocery store and buy ingredients and make your own food.

since it "could" be the ports itself on the router it is starting to be old at this point

Doesnt work that way. Ethernet is is 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps , 1 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps, 5 Gbps or 10 Gbps. Nothing in between. 4 wires are needed for at least 100 Mbps, all 8 are needed for Gigabit and above. My only guess is maybe an issue with Windows, the driver, or some other software causing an issue.

Yes, if any game would just work with the same quality/performance in Linux/Unix/Mac I may ditch it. MS they are greedy little *****, god I think I remember reading about this in edge too a while back. Plus that update that makes it where you can't change the defualt browser!

Many of my games work on Steam OS with little to no issue. Thought the deck does have weaker hardware than my desktop, still the experiences is quite good.

This can be turned off by going to Settings > Personalization > Start and turning off the toggle for “Show recommendations for tips, app promotions, and more”. Ok well that is good, but st

At least it can be turned off for now. But they are going out of their way to make me not want to use Windows. To be honest I kinda like MacOS and SteamOS a bit better than Windows at this point.

Look for an option in your monitors OSD called Displayport Deep Sleep and turn it off.

    Its off on my monitor.

hat and just move to 11, that's (mostly) fixed. My windows almost always return to where I had them if I disconnect and reconnect a display.

Its not that easy. I have to do the upgrade to convert the key then I have to do a clean install, because Upgrade installs of Windows are iffy in my experience. I just did a reinstall not long ago and Im not looking to do another one for some time.

to much make up is a thing now on woman.

where i can tell they wear a lot form a distance away.

Im pretty sure I read somewhere that Millennials and Gen Z are aging like spoiled milk. Something about crippling debt, unaffordable housing, no retirement and impending doom around every corner.

I’m not sure how unpopular this opinion is, but the humble potato is so versatile and delicious that it’s the best vegetable, root or otherwise.

Other than its horrible for you health wise. Too much starch. The most healthy way to eat a potato is baked. Not a fan of baked, I like mine french fried.

lso, it's a bit of a scam to be paying separate fees to "rent" the cable modem. They want people to buy it,

Actually if the FCC didnt put a rule in place that customer owned equipment was to be supported by cable companies, we wouldn't be able to own our own modems and still will be paying a rental fee. The rental fee is just a way for them to make money. Same as the "Unlimited" data option. Comcast is actually one of the better ISP's to support customer owned modems as they provide a list of retail modems that will work. Some providers it like pulling teeth, as they wont provide any support or information what so ever, and sometimes you have to resort to an FCC complaint to make things work.

Upgrades don't typically break things badly,

Like I said in my post, from 7 to 10 was painful. I have to go based on my own experiences. The only OS I have not had issues with a upgrade is MacOS.

For this, I recommend a clean format and install. That's exactly what I plan on doing too.

    Like I stated:

Like do I have to reinstall Windows 10 then upgrade to 11, or can I just upgrade to 11 and my digital key will just work? My key originally was a Windows 7 key and everything online says it will work or it will not work, there's no certainty.

If Microsoft can guarantee I can just do a clean install I would. But when they make me do more work I wont.

10 we had the bug where the start menu just broke and wouldn't work and had to reinstall the OS on a few thousand computers. What a giant pain in the ass.

I recalled when I upgrade from 7 to 10, the One Drive integration broke. I also had issues with graphical glitches of the mouse cursor. I had to use that borked install for the better part of a year due to school. The mouse cursor bug never went away even after clean installs. Might have been crappy AMD GPU drivers however.

Ill probably move the gaming machine to 11 next year. Because Im not sure how much of a pain in the ass its going to be to upgrade. Like do I have to reinstall Windows 10 then upgrade to 11, or can I just upgrade to 11 and my digital key will just work? My key originally was a Windows 7 key and everything online says it will work or it will not work, there's no certainty. My experience with upgrade installs has not been great. So Microsoft will have to drag me kicking and screaming, OR ill just give up on Windows all together.

you didn't need the SSN to get a RealID, what's stopping me from getting an ID in your name?

They required my birth certificate, because I have an enhanced license. Also they quizzed me on the contents of my birth certificate.

If you have a real ID it is to be used for federal Identification thats what REAL ID is for. At least where I live in Michigan, if you don't have real ID it specifically says "not for federal identification"

The why do I have to supply my social security number to verify my ID?

  14. 1 hour ago, IkeaGnome said:

Convenient time for RealID to be coming out for travel then yeah?

We do have a standard national ID system.

Except the Feds tend to ask for you SSN to verify your ID. Further more “ real IDs” are not federally issued. So technically not a national ID. To me a national ID is issued to you when you’re born by Uncle Sam much like the SSN. It’s something that follows you thru life.

That’s certainly one way to squeeze a ton of years out of a GPU.

Well to be honest my Mac is connected to it. But my GPU is showing its age and I have been thinking of moving my gaming PC to my TV. Just have to figure out the logistics as my TV is at the foot of my bed. Can’t afford to upgrade it or build a new one so it might help squeeze a few more years.

    That's very unfortunate.

It's been awhile since I've purchased a TV, but all I want is the basics in software features. I want the TV to have a quality image, with only a tuner inside for over-the-air broadcasting. All other input would be over HDMI with the intelligence only with the boxes delivering the content (Apple TV, Consoles, etc).

I don't want adverts inserted, or my TV spying on me with telemetry uploaded.

Thats why I still use a 32" LCD TV thats only 720p, or use my PC where I can block all ads and such.

If someone wanted to buy a 65 inch TV (OLED or Quantum Dot), can you get that in a dumb version? Meaning, none of the smart crap built in?

There are very few TV manufactures who dont shove smart shit inside their TV's. With that they might not give you all the premium features if that's what you are looking for.
