so I was thinking what was the best solution

Netflix blocks VPN's, due to licensing  restrictions. Not sure about Amazon but Id guess they do the same.  So bear in mind if you find a VPN that works, It might not be a long term solution.

any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Generally for Port forwarding to work you need a few things.

    1) The IP address of the server needs to be static OR you can set up a reservation in the DHCP server of your router for that device. This is the address you use for port forwarding.

    2) You need the port numbers that need to be forwarded, at well as the protocols needed (TCP vs UDP or both).

    3) You need to be sure that the server software is also allowed under the firewall settings of the device. Mac OS does have a built in Firewall so you need to forward stuff there as well.

    4) You need to make sure your ISP gives you a public IP (Yours should be).

They don't have to be covered by the DMCA to still be taking money from the creator.

Im going to telll you what the older generation has been telling us young pups for years. If the job doesnt pay enough, Find a better one. It's like those people who do Door Dash you get mad about tips. Tips are not required under the law. If you cant make enough money at your job then you find a job that does pay you enough or at least better than what you have. Furthermore, this is Youtube's problem. They are the ones who allow my work around to work. All they have to do is make the damn site members only, but they dont. Not my problem.

At the end of the day it's a moral decision. You can claim that I have no morals. But looking at who runs the country the questionable decisions that go on in DC, I have to say Im probably still fairly morally in the clear considering.

I have 2 different wifi connections: one isn't 5G, and the other is. On my other devices im able to connect to the 5G one, but for some reason on my pc the network doesn't show up. Any help?

5 Ghz has less range and penetration power than 2.4. So it could be you're out of range or you have too much of an obstruction between the device and router. You also could have an OLD ass WiFi adapter thats 2.4 Ghz only.

This is an interesting path you're on. Next stop, pirating games because what're the chances you're going to be arrested for it.

Again ads are NOT covered under the DMCA. Games are. Thats the difference. You dont like my stance? Tough shit.

If they didn't like it as much as you think, then they wouldn't license their programming for broadcast to you.

OR they put DRM in the ATSC 3.0 spec, which they have done, but as ATSC 3.0 has kinda stalled when it comes to adoption they are in a catch 22.

If they give you the option to skip the ads, then you can. If YouTube doesn't, then you have no permission to skip them.

Again they have no LEGAL ground the stand on. Until the FBI can kick your door in for skipping ads, then I dont have to do shit for YouTube. EULA's and TOS's are barely enforceable here in the US. The Law is the law. Like I stated in my previous post, Youtube can become members only, they dont, thats their fuck up and their problem, not mine.

On a side not, CBS doesnt give permission to skip as, as its Live OTA TV Im capturing. Im sure CBS doesnt like the fact that I skips ads, but they can kiss my fat ass. I will NOT watch ads.

However, some of these creators spend a six-figure amount on the average video. The least you can do is watch a 30-second ad.

CBS spends probably 6 figures on each episode of NCIS, I skip all the ads as I record the Live TV broadcast and watch the recording. Im not legally obligated to watch any ads, nor will I. If Youtube has an issue with it, then make the site members only.

I'm just really curious about your opinion on the matter.

Id go with the 100 Mbps one. Because Im cheap. You could do multiple 4K streams and gaming should be fine. So it takes longer to download games, just do them over night. Im trying to get my folks to downgrade from 400/20 service to 100/20 service because it's cheaper.

    (it’s also piracy)

Have not read that provision in the DMCA. So....... Unless the FBI can kick my door in, it's not piracy. Plus at this point, I could give two fucks.

    Didn't Linus call it piracy?

Last time I checked the guys in DC or in the case of Canada, Ottawa make the rules and decide what is and is not piracy.

or is this simply to make it "Windows 11 compatible?" If it's the latter, just use one of the many workarounds (Rufus, TPM bypass) to install Windows 11 anyways. That system should work fine. (And this is coming from a guy that has updated a dozen AMD A8-7600 systems which are now a decade old).

The issue with the work arounds is that Microsoft could push and update that break stuff. Im not looking to rig something to work. I want something that is designed to work. PLUS Im not sure you can perform an in place upgrade to convert her key to Windows 11. Because she's not going to want to pay $120 for a new Windows key on a machine that isnt officially supported.

  11. My mom has the PC listed in the title. The issue is it's not Windows 11 capable as the CPU (R3 2200G) is not supported. I have a R5 2700X that I took out of my gaming PC when I upgraded to a better CPU last year. I wanted to know if anyone has tried to upgrade one of these to see if it works? I do know that the 2600X doesnt have a GPU integrated, so I would also need a graphics solution.

OR she will need a new PC when the time comes. I figure buying a GPU would probably just be cheaper as the current machine does what it needs to do.

hey will only do something if the theft is more then the cost of wages. walmart has like 2 people for like 20 Checkouts the amount of wages there saving is nuts. but its just the begining things will change.

They are doing something. Some Walmarts have started to close. They do try to check receipt BUT state law says they cant force you to show a receipt. People are either scanning items that are of lesser value, changing barcodes to an item priced less or just blatantly walking out of a cart full. Asset Protection cant do shit. The police wont do shit.

seen an 8mill automated grocry store with 2 people... its just a mater of time and when not if.

Wont work here in the US. There has been sooooooo much theft at Self Checkouts, that there is talk about bringing cashiers back and putting self check behind a paywall, at least at Walmart.

To me automation does make a lot of sense for fast food. When it comes to retail I think we still got a bit of time. Even Amazon came out and said their staffless stores were not staffless after all.

but i mean there robots around the corner....

With $20 min wage in California I have a feeling robots are not around the corner but already here. I know at least one restaurant out there was fully automated, I forget the name. I also seen a CNBC special on how some fast food places were using robots, at a White Castle location they stated they used one for the fryer station. Which in hindsight is probably the most dangerous job in a fast food restaurant.

Most people look at automation at fast food as a bad thing. Honestly I look at it more positively. Yes we are taking away jobs, but these are jobs people dont really want. However food could become cheaper, there could be more consistency when it comes to quality. Plus that also takes the punching bag (the fast food worker) out of the equation. Too many people feel entitled to use workers as punching bags. Not to mention Ive seen too many times on the news customers shooting at fast food workers. If you dont like that people make mistakes then take your lazy ass to the grocery store and buy ingredients and make your own food.

since it "could" be the ports itself on the router it is starting to be old at this point

Doesnt work that way. Ethernet is is 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps , 1 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps, 5 Gbps or 10 Gbps. Nothing in between. 4 wires are needed for at least 100 Mbps, all 8 are needed for Gigabit and above. My only guess is maybe an issue with Windows, the driver, or some other software causing an issue.

Yes, if any game would just work with the same quality/performance in Linux/Unix/Mac I may ditch it. MS they are greedy little *****, god I think I remember reading about this in edge too a while back. Plus that update that makes it where you can't change the defualt browser!

Many of my games work on Steam OS with little to no issue. Thought the deck does have weaker hardware than my desktop, still the experiences is quite good.

This can be turned off by going to Settings > Personalization > Start and turning off the toggle for “Show recommendations for tips, app promotions, and more”. Ok well that is good, but st

At least it can be turned off for now. But they are going out of their way to make me not want to use Windows. To be honest I kinda like MacOS and SteamOS a bit better than Windows at this point.

hat and just move to 11, that's (mostly) fixed. My windows almost always return to where I had them if I disconnect and reconnect a display.

Its not that easy. I have to do the upgrade to convert the key then I have to do a clean install, because Upgrade installs of Windows are iffy in my experience. I just did a reinstall not long ago and Im not looking to do another one for some time.
