  1. It’s cellular internet. So there are limitations and it’s much easier for the service to be congested. Speed will vary. Latency/Ping will be higher.
  2. I have an OG deck. Great device. Stardew Valley and Vampire Survivors is my two games I really enjoy on it. BG3 also worked pretty well on it, at least outside the city.
  3. Like I said. Once traffic leaves the ISP’s network the speed it travels depends on the other network. Further more my ISP provides up to 20% greater speeds as long as their network allows. My guess is it’s a combination of them boosting speeds as well as the speed test server being attached to their network.

AMD Damage control is a complete fucking joke,…

Well Stardew Valley, Golf with your friends, and Hell Divers 2 all works fine on my system. With the limitation on Hell Divers I have to run in WIndowed 1920x1080 because my GPU doesnt have the horsepower to push 3440x1440 in that game. Not to mention all the games that work fine on the Steam Deck which is all AMD as well.

Well I havent had any major driver issues since upgrading to the RX 5700. Ive had a few games that would not work, but much of my library is older games.

The drivers have gotten better over the years. But yeah, AMD drivers do still have issues. I will say however my RX 5700 drivers were a hell of a lot better then the HD 7050 I used to use.
  7. Wouldn't been the first time an ISP gave priority to speed tests. OR the speed test server is on the ISP's network, I think my ISP hosts one near by in fact. Also bear in mind where the server is located your trying to download from. Not every server on Earth is connected to your ISP. ANY time the packets have to leave the ISP's network its outside yours and their control. The servers themselves might have limits placed on them. Bandwidth is not free.
  8. The problem is, corporations are generally seen as a person in the eyes of the law. So, you cant put Walmart for example in prison, with the exception that you can prove the management team did something highly illegal. Same thing applies to civil actions. If you sue a corporation, the only assets at risk is the ones owned by the corporation, the management team and shareholders are generally protected. I know here in the US, both Federal and State Departments of Labor can collect unpaid wages. I think they also make the employer pay extra to the individuals as well as make them pay a fine. Again this is a civil action, so only assets of the corporation are put at risk. Thats why people use corporations in business, the worst that can happen is the corporation goes bankrupt and you are not left holding the bag.
  9. Verizon and T Mobile both offer 4/5G Home internet. T Mobile however just put in a 1.2 TB soft cap, you get throttled if you go over. You will need to check with each carrier on if they offer these services in your area. Speeds and reliability will vary.

Im sicken and tired of when I install games on…

Works fine on the steam deck. I do recall it working on XP x64, because yeah, I had the 64 bit version of XP.

Dont know. Im over it. Its not the only game Ive had issues with. It was a bitch also getting Killing Floor 2 working not that long ago. Im going to see if the Steam Deck works.
  12. Im sicken and tired of when I install games on my PC that they dont work. Watched the Fallout series and decided I wanted to play Fallout 3 again. It keeps crashing when I select new game. Tried several fixes online and finally Im just fucking done with it. Deleted the game and added it to a new Steam collection of shit that doesnt work. This is not a isolated issue, Ive had issues with other games. Maybe I try my luck on the Steam Deck.

Yeah it doesn't like 64 bit systems, you can play for hours with an XP machine even though XP was already on its way out when the game was released. x86 Vista and 7 also work.

That might be a problem considering Vista and XP don’t even work with steam anymore… what happens to all those games?

You run them on SteamOS (or any other Linux distro) with Proton 😆

wait until you learn about .iso files

  13. If it were me Id file an FCC complaint. That will light a fire under their ass. They have 3 days to respond to a complaint.
  14. Watching a little of the video. It sounds like the owe the state of Texas money and the fact that some people havent gotten paid or had their time altered is a big violation of both state and federal labor laws. EK is going to get sued.
  15. WiFi being WiFi. If you want a reliable and stable connection you need Ethernet PERIOD. WiFi is unpredictable as you have been experiencing. I think a lot of people think 5G is just superior, but don't understand that as you go up in frequency the range and penetration power of the WIFi signal gets cut. Thats not taking in to account other devices using the same WiFi channels as you OR the fact that the WiFi spectrum is Unlicensed meaning anyone their mom and brother can use is as long as they follow the rules laid out by the government. For example Cordless phones have been known to use some of the 5Ghz band and the same could be said about Radar (which operates on the DFS channels). For 2.4 Ghz Microwave ovens and Bluetooth devices use the same band.
  16. The only use I have for an optical drive is to rip DVD's to my Plex server. Outside of that I dont use it.
  17. I wouldn't. Ive had it install stuff on other drives even though I didnt give it permission to do so. I always disconnect other drives before doing an install.
  18. Netflix blocks VPN's, due to licensing restrictions. Not sure about Amazon but Id guess they do the same. So bear in mind if you find a VPN that works, It might not be a long term solution.
  19. https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/support/server-support-and/1897800-how-do-i-get-the-correct-port Assuming that the info is not out of date.
  20. Generally for Port forwarding to work you need a few things. 1) The IP address of the server needs to be static OR you can set up a reservation in the DHCP server of your router for that device. This is the address you use for port forwarding. 2) You need the port numbers that need to be forwarded, at well as the protocols needed (TCP vs UDP or both). 3) You need to be sure that the server software is also allowed under the firewall settings of the device. Mac OS does have a built in Firewall so you need to forward stuff there as well. 4) You need to make sure your ISP gives you a public IP (Yours should be).
  21. Im going to telll you what the older generation has been telling us young pups for years. If the job doesnt pay enough, Find a better one. It's like those people who do Door Dash you get mad about tips. Tips are not required under the law. If you cant make enough money at your job then you find a job that does pay you enough or at least better than what you have. Furthermore, this is Youtube's problem. They are the ones who allow my work around to work. All they have to do is make the damn site members only, but they dont. Not my problem. At the end of the day it's a moral decision. You can claim that I have no morals. But looking at who runs the country the questionable decisions that go on in DC, I have to say Im probably still fairly morally in the clear considering.
  22. 5 Ghz has less range and penetration power than 2.4. So it could be you're out of range or you have too much of an obstruction between the device and router. You also could have an OLD ass WiFi adapter thats 2.4 Ghz only.
  23. Again ads are NOT covered under the DMCA. Games are. Thats the difference. You dont like my stance? Tough shit. OR they put DRM in the ATSC 3.0 spec, which they have done, but as ATSC 3.0 has kinda stalled when it comes to adoption they are in a catch 22.
  24. Again they have no LEGAL ground the stand on. Until the FBI can kick your door in for skipping ads, then I dont have to do shit for YouTube. EULA's and TOS's are barely enforceable here in the US. The Law is the law. Like I stated in my previous post, Youtube can become members only, they dont, thats their fuck up and their problem, not mine. On a side not, CBS doesnt give permission to skip as, as its Live OTA TV Im capturing. Im sure CBS doesnt like the fact that I skips ads, but they can kiss my fat ass. I will NOT watch ads.
