Usually by keeping more pressure on the pedals. I otherwise prefer platform pedals.

other bike, things I’ve been doing with it, 1989 muddy fox pathfinder

tldr ups mangled it in shipping so now it’s running a Shimano rear freewheel and Altus derailleur, temporarily. Basically the bars got smashed so the shifters didn’t work and started breaking apart, so I put Shimano shifters on there, but then it’s Shimano pull ratios on old suntour Accushift so it didn’t work very well, it’s all gonna get replaced with deore lx components from the early 90’s anyway

it’s fast, it’s got cool original accessories

I am an old man riding a small BMX, anything more than 10km and my knees want to give out. Was out at the skatepark the other day and I can definitely tell that I am not 20 anymore. Takes me so much longer to get up after a spill.

I'm just a fat guy who bought a cheap mountain bike from a large sports chain store, but excited for the summer nonetheless. I assembled the bike Yesterday and test drove to work and back today, whopping 7km. It was fun and surprisingly quick, my neighbourhood is generally pretty hilly, but I have a great mostly flat route to work.

It has been about a decade since the last time I cycled any noteworthy amount. My original bike got stolen and I didn't replace it until a couple of years ago. My second bike was locked in a locked storage, yet it still got vandalised for parts. Fun. This time around I'm going to keep the bike in my apartment, thankfully even these cheap bikes have gotten absurdly light (I think mine is 14kg). I also got a decent chain with a good lock (thanks LPL), but I'll be trying my hardest never to leave it unsupervised anywhere but work.

Each time I have bought a bike I have also had to get a new pump. Figuring out Presta was fun.

The first parts of my mom’s new PC got here. Almost tempted to just use the stock cooler for now until I do eventually upgrade her to a K sku CPU (talking a couple years down the line). It’s a 12400F, like the only intel CPU that isn’t a nuclear reactor afaik.

But also, been a hot minute since I built with an ATX board, forgot how big they are.  My last few builds have all been Micro ATX or ITX

I have a shelving unit with a PC on the shelf 18" off the floor and one at 5' off the floor.
The top one gets much less dust.

After years of circling it like a cat hot porridge: 3D-printer. A week ago to be exact but got it today.

    Sovol SV07 Plus.

I have to say, I am disappointed. I excepted to spent at least couple days troubleshooting and tweaking and it was just going through the manual and the bloody thing just works. Just a bit G-code tweaking so the homing doesn't go haywire after the print head stucks to the print.

Good thing everything else took a while.
Decided to not spend 80€ or something for ready made drybox because "saving" money and just DIY that thing:

Costed probably more than 80€ if you include getting Zigbee based smart home hub and climate sensor for it just to escape the horrors that would have become from me trying to make a hole to read some digital thermo-humidity-meter (just look at that beautiful smearing of silicon to make a casket for the lid). But it will hold a lot of filaments and good 12% humidity with only metering consuming power, 2x1kg of reusable silica gel bags should be enough for a long time and when they stop, just few times few minutes in microwave.
At least the concrete block was cheaper than I expected.

Now just need to figure out how I could connect to the fluidd/mainsail with phone remotely. Was kind of hoping NordVPN's Meshnet would do it but of course it doesn't support Android phones jumping to the local network through Windows.
