IPickle got a reaction from Ezzy-525 in Any recommendations for a gaming/office chair in the £200-250 range?
    I have 3 chair recommendations:
    1. The IKEA Markus was always quite nice when I had it. 170 quid and a 10 year warranty. Plus you can get it same-day if you live near one. If you have a Costco membership, check there too! They usually have some good chairs which won't break the bank. https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/markus-office-chair-vissle-dark-grey-30261152/

    2. If you're wanting something a bit more pricey, SecretLab I believe are quite good. I think they're in the £350 price area.

    3. If you're wanting to flex on all of us, Herman Miller. £1kidney

Also I'm not sure if you're looking for a sit/stand desk. I have a few options if you are.
VonHaus have a sit stand desk frame with adjustable controls for £220, from their website directly.  Get a nice worksurface from IKEA for 50 quid and you have a lovely sit/stand for £270. I did that, no regrets. https://www.vonhaus.com/vh_en/home-office/sit-stand-desks

Herman Miller also have some sit stands for a pretty reasonable price on their website too. I think starting from around £380, if you want some plug sockets built into the desk (to charge a laptop or something), they have an option for £450 https://ukstore.hermanmiller.com/products/jarvis-bamboo-desk-1200?variant=42330380075161

One thing I would recommend is giving G Hub a go. can be found at https://www.logitechg.com/en-gb/innovation/g-hub.html . Most of the bugs have been ironed out and my g pro works on it

Hey there, hope you're doing well. By the sound of things, you'll be fine. The 8 pin connectors only provide up to 150w each so the GPU should roughly peak at 300w. considering your CPU is a low power draw chip too, I see no reason as to why the PSU would be inadequate for your build. Plus Seasonic seem to be a really good brand and have a killer warranty.
    Edit:
Having a look at your model, it doesn't seem to be a great power supply, just meh. I'd recommend switching it out at some point. not urgently but do consider it.

I've read through a lot of stuff here and there on the internet and I got this impression, that it SHOULD be fine, yet I haven't beet entirely convinced. There's always that one guy that says it's not enough and that makes me waver. If you guys say it's okay, I believe you. ? I can return it anyway without any hassle if things don't go well - great friend indeed.

So thank you guys! I'm gonna be testing that tomorrow. Really looking forward to see how it improves my Kingdom Come Deliverance and The Witcher 3 experiences. ?

As far as I'm aware, that model is actually a Seasonic OEM. Although, not the best for a Seasonic, it is still considered a very good PSU. It comes with a 5 year warranty, therefore, at the very least; I would think about replacing it sometime before June 2020.

I think that PSU should be perfectly fine in that build. EVGA are a very known and respected brand. If it was something else, like a cheapo, generic one. I'd advise against it. but you should be perfect
    Happy building!

Hey there. Hope you're doing well. By the sound of things, you should be okay. I know viruses can seem super scary and all. I personally think you're fine and you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Defender found it and got rid of it. I'd delete that file in your downloads folder though if it hasn't been already. MS Defender has gotten super good over the years, to the point where that is the only thing I use other than common sense. If you have any super important info, it's good practice to back it up and if you're super worried, go for the reinstall. I really don't think it's necessary though.
Hope you have fun on Minecraft

Just run a malware scan, preferably with something that's not Windows Defender just for confirmation's sake.
There's really no need to format/reinstall over malware unless it managed to cause actual damage.

    Hi there,
    Hope you are doing well.
Have you tried reseating the CPU by any chance? when cleaning the CPU, the chances are you might have put a little too much pressure on it. also perhaps check to see if all the motherboard pins are intact.
I had this exact issue on x99 and it wouldn't register memory because of it
also remount the cooler, and screw the screws only finger tight, tight enough to get a good mount of force, but not too much
Also don't panic, I don't think your CPU is dead
Keep us all posted and I hope it goes well for you!

Was it 93 under load or at idle? I know someone who never even plugged the power into his H100, FOR MONTHS, and it lived... I was shocked, and unsure how the fluid didn't boil and ruin the pump.... Crazy I know.

But, if it was 93c under idle, that can't be good. But, if it worked before, it should work now............. its possible the CPU needs a reseat, but hard to know. If it is yelling baout VRAM, maybe just take your GPU out and try with it unplugged. Use the onboard video and see what happens.

    3. It takes many, many years of using a controller to master it and vice/versa with K&M users.
    4. Communication and wits are the keys to opening all sorts of doors.
    5. Every gamer has both strengths and weaknesses. Find and exploit them both.
    6. Most of your teammates are using K&M. Embrace and utilize them.

    8. Invest a lot of time against bots on their hardest difficulties. This will teach you a LOT on how to handle yourself.
    9. Invest a lot of time against K&M players using a controller. Over time you will be able to hang with them and eventually, beat them.
    10. Never forget #1 and #2 on this list.
This is an excellent tip right here. Especially the part when he mentions, "They have years of controller and operator experience."

    From the MSI website (https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForce-RTX-2080-GAMING-X-TRIO/Specification)
    CARD DIMENSION(MM)    327 x 140 x 55.6 mm From the Cooler Master website (https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/cases/mid-tower/masterbox-lite-5/)
Clearance - GPU    400 x ? x ? mm In this case, all you need to worry about is the length of the card. And it fits pretty easily it seems. If you wanted to go bigger, you can always remove the HDD bays

I wouldn't believe so as it isn't like you're getting an unfair advantage from it. Plus I'm sure Battleye are only going to ban someone for using something which alters the game code or ruins the experience for others. Changing settings on your input device would not be considered cheating. (You're essentially using the equivalent of Razer Synapse, Logitech G Hub etc.) but just a controller version if you get what I mean.

Now actually might be a perfect opportunity to jump to KB/M, the learning curve will be hard but is very well worth it as aiming is more precise than using sticks. Also a lot of the older FPS games like CoD have aim assist. R6 does not, hence why you might be finding it a lot harder.

IPickle got a reaction from Shammikit in Tips for playing Rainbow Six Siege with a controller
Hi there Shammikit. Hope you are doing well.

I also haven't played FPS games on the controller for many years. When I moved back into PC gaming I found myself very disadvantaged when using it. That being said, I'm unaware of what platform you're on. However, talking about that is for another day.

In my personal experience, here are some things that worked for me.
1: Go into some terrorist hunt missions and practice, practice, practice.
2: Make some adjustments to your sensitivity and controller/keybinds, using the stick to lean will make it harder to aim most likely and you might find it better for you to change the leaning buttons to something like the d-pad.
3: Maybe consider a cheap keyboard and mouse (if you're playing on PC). I know keyboard and mouse gaming is hard to get used to however.  I also know Console siege is also full of people who use keyboard and mouse to gain an advantage, whether you'd want to do the same for the console is up to you, however many people call that cheating.
4: Patience. A lot of the people you're playing against might have been there since year one. We're on the 4th year of R6:S now so you'll most likely be at a disadvantage to start with. They have years of controller and operator experience. When you're feeling confident. maybe play a ranked match too. It's full of higher skilled players and is just good to see how they aim and peek corners etc. They are pretty good to learn from.
    Hope this helps.

I can't recommend nvidia for this purpose since they artificially block passthrough if the driver detects you're running a virtual machine.

The parts you configured seem adequate to me, I wouldn't touch x299 if you don't want way more headaches than it's worth on top of paying quite a bit more. X99 is less of a headache but still not worth the money compared to a ryzen 7 system (plus the 1700 outperforms the 5820k in all but single core tasks).

You may not need that much ram by the way unless you plan on rendering at the same time as you play games.
