  1. Not all TN panels are crap quality, my 5 year old Samsung TN panel has pretty good colors. In contrast my friend's little brother got a Samsung monitor with his Cyberpower PC and it looks like crap. If your looking into 144hz monitor this BenQ one seems pretty damn good in terms of color: http://www.amazon.com/BenQ-XL2420TE-Performance-24-Inch-Professional/dp/B00D7IG556 Linus also did a video of this monitor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6wIMaYjklE
  2. I'm very skeptical of used electronics, it's very easy to lie about them.
  3. How does the 3DS XL compare to the 2DS when it comes to comfort? My old DS Lite and my little brother's 3DS cramp up my hands after a while.
  4. I've managed to watch porn safely and download it. Took awhile and I infected our family PC like 3 times when I was 12, but I eventually found a method.
  5. It reminds me of BF4 so much that it hurts. I'm guilty of spending $110 on that game, although I didn't pre order cause that's just stupid.
  6. Day of Defeat: Source (not as popular as TF2 or CSGO, but loads of fun)
  7. Not a fan of Lenovo's Tablet/Mobile stuff.
  8. I don't know if the Bitfenix Prodigy and Phenom M cases everyone suggests are that great, from the looks of it cable management might be a pain, not much storage options and limited airflow options. I like the Fractal Define Mini, its a very sleek and professional looking case but it is pretty pricey at about $100. Personally I use this case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811208052 It's fairly well constructed (although the metal is somewhat thin) and there's of space for a tower cooler, a long graphics, and good cable management. The only problems are that the fans it comes with a pretty noisy IMO, if you mount a top fan it can cause a lot of vibrations, and if you mount a 200mm fan on the side make sure it is no thicker than 20mm or else it might not fit. Other than that the case has great value at $40. There's also a white version that looks really nice, I personally didn't get it because I thought my black disk drive might ruin the look. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811208053
  9. Natural Selection 2 (Alien v Marines RTS/FPS, beware of strong learning curve, great community, lots of tutorials) Rouge Legacey (metroidvania, rouge like, platformer and one of my personal favorites) Binding of Issac (rouge like, zelda style game) Terraria (like minecraft but 2D, a lot more stylized, and more interesting content) These are the ones that I have played in my steam library, but there are a bunch more that people can list off.
  10. Don't forget a better controller, and i think it would be wiser to just have more USB ports for external drives to keep the price down.
  11. Towerfall, but that was about it for good games, at least it has proven that you can get a quality title on an android based device. If they could get Nvidia streaming on the OUYA 2.0 it's value would skyrocket IMO.
  12. That's really nice pretty much gets rid of all my concerns about the tenkeyless, but that Amazon price is ridiculous it's $50 cheaper on Newegg. Thanks for the suggestion!
  13. Competition is always important and benefits the consumer which is why AMD should always have some kind of edge, I really like AMD's budget oriented products and their FX 8350 can really shine in certain multithreaded programs. As for me I went for an I5 3rd gen just so I can upgrade to an I7 in the future for video editing (which was probably a bad decision, but that's in the past). As for OpenCL, i was using Adobe CS before they started using it so Nvidia was the only option for GPU acceleration.
  14. From the looks of it your board doesn't have any USB 3 headers. You can get one of these USB 3 to USB 2 headers, you will only get USB 2 speeds, but at least you can use the ports. http://www.amazon.com/Silverstone-Tek-Internal-Adapter-G11303050-RT/dp/B0098FSJ92/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1387737078&sr=1-1&keywords=usb+3+to+usb+2+adapter http://www.amazon.com/CablesOnline-20-Pin-Motherboard-Adapter-USB3-AD23/dp/B00EAXISZW/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1387737078&sr=1-3&keywords=usb+3+to+usb+2+adapter
  15. What are you into? There a lot of PC games under $30, especially with the constant steam sales.
  16. All of AMD's current processors are just plain weaker than Intel's, but they offer some nice Mulitcore processors (especially their six core) for a very low price which is nice for a budget gaming rig. As for APU it would cool to use for a mini gaming rig, but other than that it doesn't have much value IMO.
  17. I've only owned three GPU's an 8600 GT (fried or somethin), a GT 430 (pretty much worthless) and my current GTX 660. I nearly based my decision on Cuda based acceleration in programs, but nowadays Nvidias has more attractive software and the slight edge in price to performance that AMD offers doesn't seem that appalling. There's also Mantle but that still isn't out yet.
  18. Right now I have a full size keyboard and I sometimes find myself bumping my mouse hand into it when I'm using a low in game sensitivity (like in CSGO). Because of this I was thinking of getting a Tenkeyless keyboard (link on bottom of post) instead of the traditional keyboard, but I am concerned if I am going to lose any major functionality in games or programs from going to a tenkeyless. Right now the only games I can think of that take advantage of the numpad are Garry's mod (which I don't play much anymore and could use a USB numpad) and Arma games (which I think only uses the Enter key for a 3rd person button and can be rebinded). As for programs the only major ones I use are the Adobe Suite, Blender and Microsoft Word which I believe don't all don't use the numpad for any shortcuts. I'm still a little concerned whether I will be losing some functionality from going to a tenkeyless which is I want to ask for opinions on my decision, also if there are any other major games or programs that take advantage of a directly attached numpad please tell me. Other than that I appreciate any feedback you guys give me. http://www.amazon.com/Storm-QuickFire-Rapid-Tenkeyless-Mechanical/dp/B007VDKLLM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1387733451&sr=8-1&keywords=cm+storm+brown
  19. I try to keep it minimal, but then I look at all the receipts and I make myself feel guilty. My new rule is to wait for the game to go to 75% unless it is a must have title.
  20. Does any one know if this case has a set release date? I looked at Tek Syndicates overview of the case it would be a really nice future upgrade from my existing case. Overview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTEQrFHFp3M
  21. Alright, I test the top fan with the foam pads that I used on the front fan and It seemed to get rid the a large amount of the humming, but there was still a slight pulsation most likely because the top of the case is very thin. So for now I will probably just have a front and a rear 120mm fan.
  22. When the fans are running outside of the case they are silent with the exception of the moving air, but I think i found the reason for this pulsating hum. From further experimentation I found that the center of the fans are coming in contact with the case. I also found that the rear of the case has the grill bulge out to prevent the center of the fan from coming in contact with the case, which would explain why my 92mm rear fan is not contributing to the noise. To compensate I have placed pieces of adhesive foam pads on two sides of the fan and only screwed in those two sides to prevent as much contact with the case, so far this has gotten rid of the pulsating hum from the front fan, but I have not tried this on the top fan yet. I will test this out with the top fan and come back with the outcome.
