  1. Go into the bios and check the boot order. I had this issue with my Dell motherboard. USB was set first in the boot order and even if I had no USB drive, it would still look for one while booting and would not switch to the installed drive.
  2. I use mine (the F variant) with a 6600XT, runs great no complaints. I didn't have much of a reason to upgrade to a 12400 since all I do is play games and edit photos.
  3. It will probably be fine as long as you don't have a lot of simultaneous users.
  4. At 500 bucks, I think a used Canon 5d2 is probably the best option: https://www.keh.com/shop/canon-eos-5d-mark-ii-21-1-megapixel-digital-slr-camera-body-only.html Combine that with the Magic Lantern Firmware and a cheap 50mm 1.8 and you can have a pretty capable set up.
  5. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/CVM-AX3-Preamplifier-Panasonic-Camcorder-Monitoring/dp/B07H2TN4LJ/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=12DRN3M9UPHG3&keywords=dslr+preamp&qid=1668627952&sprefix=dslr+preamp%2Caps%2C1031&sr=8-4&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.006c50ae-5d4c-4777-9bc0-4513d670b6bc
  6. It's likely the G7's pre amp is just low quality and can't supply enough power without noise. You can try a pre amp made for DSLRs and see if that works, there are cheap ones as low as $50 ones on Amazon if you want to try it out. If you want pro quality preamps the price can balloon quickly, but you can always reuse them if you ever decide to upgrade you camera.
  7. Personally I would get a Mobo with VRM heat sinks in case you wanted to upgrade your CPU. The 12400F should be fine without heatsinks, but just note that running a tower cooler instead of the stock cooler can potentially cause issues with VRM temps as they won't get as much airflow. But again, the 12400F will probably be fine with that Mobo as long as you don't plan on upgrading in the future.
  8. https://www.amazon.com/Asus-Zenbook-6-Cores-Graphics-Bluetooth/dp/B097QCJZGL/ref=sr_1_6?crid=1RF8UEJONRXBE&keywords=asus+zenbook+14+amd&qid=1662423566&sprefix=asus+zenbook+14+am%2Caps%2C158&sr=8-6 I personally use the older generation of this laptop with the AMD 4500u, Nvidia MX350 and DC barrel jack. They were recently on clearance under 500 at best buy, but they sold out pretty quick. The only downside is the ram is soldered (it is at least dual channel) and the chassis gets hot when gaming or under heavy loads (you can use a laptop cooler to mitigate this although it won't improve performance.) It's light, cheap, decently powered, decent battery, nice screen and this version even comes with USB C charging.
  9. That motherboard only has Sata 2 ports which are limited to 300 Mb/s. The i3 motherboard that failed likely had Sata 3 ports which has double the speed at 600 Mb/s. While the port is rated at 300 Mb/s, it is very unlikely that you will reach that full speed.
  10. Update! I got an MSI Mech 2X 6600XT and it runs flawlessly on my board. The Powercolor card was put in my sisters older PC with an i7-4790 and a Gigabyte B85M board and it is also working flawlessly in her setup. I also updated the MSI bios and had no success with the Powercolor card so I feels like its more likely an issue on Powercolor's side, although it is strange how it mostly seems to affect 12th Gen MSI boards.
  11. I have this same exact issue. Except it is with the Powercolor Fighter 6600XT. I've been trouble shooting all day, changed the PSU, it will only work in the top slot without drivers or in the second slot (Gen 3 x4). My GTX 970 works perfectly fine in my board. Unfortunately my board is well past the return period which sucks since the Powercolor Fighter was at a great price. I think I'm just going to spend extra on a RTX 3060 so I don't have to deal with this headache. System Specs: i3-12100f Corsair 3200 mhz 2 x 8 (16gb) CL16 MSI Pro B660M A
  12. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09BY57MT3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This is the lowest price I've seen for a 6600 XT, I picked it up immediately. Shipped and Sold by Amazon so no sketchy 3rd party seller. It's also shorter than the average 6600 at 200mm so it should be great for SFF builds.
  13. Between the two laptops, the new one will probably give you a better gaming experience with it's 1050ti (vs the older 960m which is about equivalent to a 750ti). But, unfortunately the newer model only seems to come with a very mediocre TN panel, where as the older model actually comes with a decent IPS panel. So basically the new model has a more powerful GPU, but a terrible screen and it's a bit more expensive, where as the older model has a better screen, lower GPU perfomance, and a lower price (you can get the i7, 1TB model for $800 USD off amazon, not sure what the price is for Canada). If you want a better screen with a 1050ti, I'd defiantly recommend looking around a bit more. Maybe check out HP, Lenovo, MSI, or Asus.
  14. I'm glad i stopped using g2a long ago, they seem pretty shitty and have no respect towards the industry. And out of the handful of games a bought from them 2 were revoked from my steam account months later, probably because they were bought with stolen credit cards.
  15. So I'm not very familiar with production monitors, but just from searching around a bit I managed to find this: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&sku=210-AHCI https://www.amazon.com/Dell-U2413-LED-Lit-Discontinued-Manufacturer/dp/B00BN2BIUK/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1486072895&sr=1-2&keywords=dell+u2413 The amazon page says its being discontinued, but it is a FHD monitor with 99% Adobe RGB for under $500.
  16. There's also a 660ti and 660ti SC for $60. And if you want something really cheap there's a 650 for $40.
  17. ...I still game on my Dell U2414h, but then again I'm not some wannabe pro CS:GO player. And besides, your not going to find two IPS Gaming monitors for under $200. It's overall a really good deal.
  18. If it has AMD or NVidia graphics, you can use Rivertuner/MSI Afterburner and if its Intel graphics you can use Dxtory. Just google how to limit the FPS using these programs. It's fairly simple. I use Afterburner on my desktop and Dxtory on my laptop. Both of them will do the job.
  19. I got an open box Galaxy S5 for $175 from Ebay recently. You can get them new for about $200 to $220.
  20. I also got this email today and it seems legit. The website linked in the email, www.gtx970settlement.com , is the same as the one in this Anandtech article: http://www.anandtech.com/show/10532/nvidia-gtx-970-settlement-claims.
  21. So apparently you have to change your main email ID for this to work. Newegg wouldn't accept the promotion despite them already having my edu email from signing up for their Student Benefits Program.
  22. The wait for this game is killing me, some streamers already have early copies and I still have to 3 weeks till I can play >.<
  23. Don't know why, but in the entire year of having Vessel, I haven't had any major issues :/, maybe I'm just lucky or it's because where I live. My free year is ending this month and I think I'm still going to pay for it. $3 a month is not that much at all and I also watch a bunch of SBFP on Vessel along with LTT videos. If vessel does crash and burn like people think is going to happen it won't affect me much, but I still kind of want them to stay around as an alternative to the monopoly that is Youtube.
